Eerie, Indiana, Goosebumps, Are you afraid of the Dark?, and The Nightmare room are my personal favorite 90's children horror shows. They don't make any of these anymore....
This was everything to me as a child in early 90s England. It's so scary to even comprehend this was nearly thirty years ago. I feel sick thinking about it and how fast time flies !
For some reason this show, particularly the intro, is burned into my memory lol kids tv was so much better in the 90's. I can't even remember what channel this would have been on, Nickelodeon maybe?
yellabonej24 Yeah I was exaggerating a bit but what I mean to say is, people nowadays (many not all but a lot) have loss their imagination and dreams. Most people like drama from reality shows. And for children, they like the psychedelic cartoons like Adventure Time, Uncle Grandpa and other shows that are just flashes and movement with jokes thrown in it. I mean I thought I was going to seize up watching one of those shows and I am only 26! I would love to watch it again but I am not sure how it would work today without losing its overall flare.
+Larry Jake omg shows like adventure time, uncle grandpa , 7 dwerfs ones and teen titans go as well i see commercials for those show and i just think. who in the hell is coming up with these and drug do you have to be on to like them . i feel bad for some of todays generations because they missed out on a lot good if not great cartoon series that actually made sense and with a core plot. darkwing duck, tales spin, street sharks, bump in the night , freakazoid ,earth worm jim, mighty ducks, reboot.(my god i want reboot back on the air with updated graphics and updated character models), the mask animated series, mtv the maxx , roccos modern life, are you afraid of the dark, goosebumps, bonechillers, double dragon, savage dragon, wish mtv would have done more season of the spiderman anime series they had. i like the art style and dialog it had.doug as well. damn those shows were good and entertaining . bobby's world, eek the cat, bonkers, quack pack. donkey kong country , Adams family cartoon series as well. fucking beetlejuice . i'm glad i got most of these on dvd i was able to find and burn on disc and buy from amazon. o and the show dinosaurs
@yellabonej24 you have the greatest list of 90’s tv shows in this comment, please share this list in a separate video and where can I get links to any of these shows? You are a treasure trove, thanks so much
I vaguely remember this. I remember the intro though when he’s front of the sign. Love goosebumps , Are you Afraid Of the Dark, eerie Indiana. Only had 1 season though. :/
0:41 - “My name is Marshall Teller. Not long ago I was living in New Jersey, just across the river from New York City. It was crowded, polluted and full of crime, I loved it. But my parents wanted a better life for my sister and me. So we moved to a place so wholesome, so squeaky clean, you could only find it on TV. Unfortunately, nothing could be further from the truth. Sure my new hometown looks normal enough, but look again. What’s wrong with this picture? The American Dream come true, right? Wrong! Nobody believes me, but this is the center of weirdness for the entire planet: Eerie, Indiana. My home, sweet home. Still don’t believe me? You will.”
I recently discovered twin peaks, and I have been obsessed. Today, I was reminded that this show existed and realized it set me up to love horror/mystery for the rest of my life. This and goosebumps, but I remember this show was way weirder and more nuanced. I think I was also obsessed with the sequel series?? Like Agent Moulder says, "The truth is out there."
Your right! This was the first creepy kid's show I remember seeing that paid homage to The Twilight Zone! Being born in 1981, this show had an impact on my 10 year - old mind. From a young Nicki Cox guest starring in an episode, to Omri Katz going on to co-starring in Hocus Pocus! I even recall the Fox TV show Parker Lewis Can't Lose making fun of this show back in '91! They always loved breaking the fourth wall, and one gag had Parker talking to someone while some kid in the background held up a sign saying "Thanks for not watching Eerie, Indiana!" Ah, 80's and 90's pre-PC humor, God do I miss it.🌎🇵🇷🤣
I used to watch this show on Sunday afternoons in Chile (translated into Spanish), during early 90s, I feel so nostalgic watching this intro, I hadn't done it since those years, and I had such a crush on Omri Katz
I vaguely remember him in front of the eerie Indiana sign that’s the only thing I remember. I watched this show when I was younger obv. But don’t remember the episodes but that intro stuck with me.
I can see how this was an influence on Stranger Things. Back in the 80's, there was a science fiction subgenre known as "the adventurous spunky kid." Science fiction movies/tv involving teens or pre-teens were very popular. We had E.T., The Manhattan Project, The Goonies, War Games, Ask Max, Frog Dreaming, to name a few (did I leave any out?)
The episode I remember the most was when marshall's sister wanted to remain young and without wrinkles forever. And Marshall was worried because that was "not normal". I think it was the tupperware episode.
All the episodes are on DailyMotion. DailyMotion is so much better than youtube. I just wish youtube didn't own DailyMotion, it would be a lot more popular if youtube wasn't trying to keep people away from it. When I cast, I get zero adds. That's enough to switch right there.
