congrats on 2nd! amazing work on the video Jon. i seriously mean it, your quality of video only keeps improving! very creative, love the beauty shots, perfect music, just awesome work all around! keep up the good work man :)
Garage Built Hondas ,I just got back into Hondas. ..I had a 1989 black crx si brand new in high school and loved it...just picked up a 1989 red crx si completely stock never touched.....working on it now...louisiana only has like two places for use to race but looking forward to it!..great job on your chanel.
Glad to hear you got another one. Crxs are hard to get away from, they'll always pull you back. Thanks for commenting, I love chatting about the old little beaters that we love! 💓
I love the normal high quality track day vids, but I think only because there's not much cell phone coverage out there that it could be frustrating on your end at times for a live feed. I do think the Q and A segment in the garage sounds like a great idea though!
Congratulations on 2nd Jon! With more seat time comes faster times! Awesome footage by the way, my fave by far but also love everything you do! Keep doing your thing! And would love a q&a live stream podcast type of deal! Whatever u decide u no OLDSKOOL DA9 will be wacthing! ✌👊👍🍻
My man J I think you should definitely do a Q&A as to that will bring your viewers a lot more closer to you that way you know what your viewer's like. I think your channel is awesome doing a Q&A will definitely enhance your Channel the next time you go to the track I think you should do the same thing you did last time keep up the good work brother.
I watched your live stream from the track and it really did not hold up when compared to your other videos in quality. I think it would be best to just get as much footage as possible and edit together a video of higher quality, like this video. Thank you for putting in the time to make all your videos, I really love your channel.
Nice work Jon, You can tell that you don't have an LSD from the track footage. When you take the curbing it picks up the inside front tire and the revs bump up then settle back down. I found that an LSD made our Civic much nicer in the lower speed corners as the power delivery and traction are much more linear keeping the car on balance. Wider wheels and tires makes a big difference, we shaved off 2 seconds off a 2:28 lap time. We went from 205/50/15 RE71R's on the wheels you have now to 225/45/15 on a set of 15x9 S1 Storms. Awesome video and awesome work!
Garage Built Hondas no problem man I'm always watching your videos just don't always have the time to leave a comment below and wanted to know if I can contribute on your track car build and see if you would like a p8r head and BC stage 3 cams for the B20
a Q$A sesh would be great! I'd just say that it would be better to collect the questions before rather than doing like a livestream and answering the chat.
Congrats on the podium finish, Jon!! 🏁🏆 I enjoyed the live feed a lot - felt like I was there hanging with ya.. I was actually tuned in whilst stuck in traffic haha. I can't remember whether or not the live feed was planned, but if you do do (💩) it again.. give us a heads up so I can have my popcorn ready this time around. Also, the new panda color scheme looks awesome out there on the track! 🤘
Thanks Tommy, I've been thinking of planning a Livestream the next time I hang out with some friends at the car wash, show some of my buddies cars and also just chill out!
Hey Jon, no i had done som other work and dropped the gas tank and have no fuel in it right now so i cant even run it right now till i get some gas in her haha, i will keep you posted
Man super cool you got 2nd. Always great videos. Q and a's are pretty cool you care share some knowledge and tips people might not know. I like how your how to videos are easy to watch and understand. I'm building a 97 hatch for track duty and your track videos show me what different part combinations work. Do you run a front sway bar it's the last part I'm debating on buying for suspension?
Yes, a 23mm front and 22mm rear. I like the way the car feels with this setup. Thanks for watching man, maybe I'll throw down a Q&A video one of these days!
Hey man! Cars lookin great. Would you mind telling me what your wheel/tire specs? Also, how much camber are you running? Did you remove your fender liner as well? Don’t mean to bombard you with all these questions, thought I’d give it a shot. I have a sedan and I want to replicate that fitment. Appreciate it a lot!
Can you help me find an EF Si please...!?! I’ve been looking for a very very long time and can’t find one... hope that you have some contacts to help me...🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 I’m in Arlington TX
Another great video! Good job on the track . Do you have any plans to try and eliminate the fender rubbing on the rear tires. I'm having the same issue on my EF.
No, I might raise the driver rear half inch to accommodate for my weight when I get into the car, that's about it though. It didn't give me any other problems except the small groove in the tire so I'll leave it alone for now.
Hey man I got few questions about next weekend. 1)What is registration like and does the $60 cover the entire event? 2) anything extra that will be required to pass tech inspection (numbers/lettering)? 3)Is the grid secure? Where can I store the tools that I bring with me? 4)any advice on food to bring? When will there be breaks? 5) some track will not allow you to run with antifreeze in the cooling system. Do I need to drain and fill with water for this event? Appreciate your help man.
Of course man! 1) $60 covers all day! The practice from 10am-1230 the track is open. Go out as often as you want! 2) Nothing. You need a helmet. No ghetto rigged equipment. Your seat needs to have all 4 bolts securing it to the floor. You need a battery tie down. No numbers or lettering needed. 3) The grid is not secure, but everyone pretty much knows everyone now. We leave all of our tools/wheels/jacks/food/etc in piles by where we park. There has never been an incident in the time I have been going and that is since the start of 2015. We have so many regulars that it's a very trustworthy community. You can park with us and I'll introduce you to everyone that I know and race with. 4) I usually brijg random snacks and food. There is a convenience store/gas station right across the street and also a small restaurant that has really good food. Sometimes I'll eat there, other times I'm lazy and pressed for time. I always pack food and buy stuff before going just to be safe. 5) You are good with whatever you want in your radiator. I run regular coolant in my car. Are you thinking of attending?
I forgot to add, the $60 is the full day. We have a driver's meeting around 930am, the track is open from 10-1230, lunch from 1230-130, then a meeting for time attack at 130, then we all drive over to the pits and complete the time attack. That can stretch til 4-5ish usually. Then a small award ceremony, but you don't have to stay for that. It's pretty inexpensive for the day!
Really appreciate the info. Yes I plan to be out In El Paso by Friday evening so I can rest and be ready for the next day. Ill def. Try to find and park next to the Honda ppl saturday. 😆
$50 for practice, $60 total for the Time Attack included. I'd suggest doing the time attack also to see where you're at so you have some base times to work with.
I've never used a 215/40. I wanted a little more meat for the 8" wide Kosei wheels. On the 15x7's I really like the 205/50. I feel like it's a really nice size and look on EF hatchbacks and crxs.
Dude, one of my favorites!! Ryan Little, please go subscribe and show him some love! You'll notice a bunch of his beats in my older videos! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EUExNvG9nQU.html
Hey I really like your ef build. I have a 91 dx hatch with a high comp B20b too, mine will run but won’t rev past 3 grand like it’s bogging out. And when we put a 255 fuel pump in it blows the fuse every time it runs but without the alternator hooked up it’ll run all day until the battery dies. I was wondering what set up you have. I’ve got a p28 ecu along with a custom made b20v harness (plan to do that in the future if I ever get it running) was wondering if you or anyone could help me out, it’s been sitting for 7 months now
Garage Built Hondas okay a friend of mine bought one that was still obd0 and he kept bringing up getting rid of the resistor box. We’ve looked at everything except the harness so that makes a lot of sense, thanks for taking time to answer back! Really enjoy your car!
Thanks man! At the strip, either will be just fine. On a road course, probably the BC might be a little better. I think it's just more preference compared to what you want on the car.
Sweet thanks for the input. I haven't heard anything bad about either, im just looking for the most reliable setup. I want to set it the way i want once and not have to worry about it.
Yeah, sand blasting kit can be expensive... if it comes off easily then that's great looks like it was caked on so I thought the worst and sand blasting would be the only fix lol
