I liked it very much, it's a rush of information but it's easy to appreciate, I'm a newly graduated nurse. Would this sort of scenario happen on a person with both Chronic Kidney Failure and also with COPD?? I mean, is that a likely scenario? Also the respiratory distress would further decrease the arrhythmia threshold in the heart?? Thanks in advance for clarifying my doubts. :)
chronic kidney failure impedes secretion of H+, and also reabsorbption of HCO3-, so yes, it will cause metabolic acidosis. In COPD, there is impeded diffusion of gases, but CO2 is only in late stage, affected, but yes - it will give respiratory acidosis in the end
