I don't have button hook, and my left hand is disabled due to a TBI. I saw videos showing how to do it wt one hand, but they were all for when you can't use your right hand. Also the top button is tight next to the body, and is vertical, making it even more difficult. So what I did was stick a needle carefully through both sides of the shirt, essentially closing the shirt. I didn't use thread, just pushed it through. Then I tied my tie over this, and no-one is the wiser, and because the needle is on the outside, it won't poke me. I'm not sure how long this will stay together, but it only has to last for an online wedding today, and the tie seems to hold it in place. One of these days I have going to purchase a button hook, but this will have to do for now.

James that sounds like a decent adaptation! Would be able to put the button extender on the button of your collar and button it up THEN pull the dress shirt on over your head? Kind of like you would a t-shirt? Your tie would cover the button extender too. Thanks for sharing your idea! ✌️❤️AECorner

I found this through the gentleman's comment. Thank you very much for showing how to to undo/reverse the button; also the cuffs are appreciated. I've got cerebral palsy and my dexterity isn't great with small items, particular shirt buttons. I'm attending a wedding next week, usually I swing by a family member to help with shirt buttons, but the wedding is 6 hours away and I'm having to stay over, so that option is out of the window haha. Many thanks for the bottom hook demos for both the shirt buttons and collar buttons, it's given me much more confidence in both using the tool and being successful; tried one 10 years ago, but never really knew or was aware of what I was meant to be doing.
