I've seen the greatest players in history play Luther Lassiter Willie mosconi on and on and on only one Efren I still can't figure out how he does some of the shots he does he's the only pool player ever. Wowed me
@@williegeronimo5779 you did not understand his statement. He said there are lots of great players but only Efren he could not understand the magic and wowed him.
I was clueless during the 90's when Efren was coming up to Las Vegas to play. I could have had a front row seat. I along with everyone else is awed by Efrens play. Thanks for putting this up.
In 1987, my college roommate in Los Angeles, who was getting into pool, told me about this guy who was "the man" at the pool clubs in LA. "Efren Reyes", he said, and he would tell me about all these crazy shots he saw Reyes make. Now I get it.
Maybe, IDK, could be a toss up between him and SVB. Efren us definitely fun to watch and definitely in the top 2, but Shane definitely shares that same natural talent, he's just not the trick shot artist that Efren is, they both have their own style
@@JuniorHarvey-zh4jr LOL - SVB is amazing but you can tell Efren is just raw genius level talent. Two different leagues. If calculated SVB played magical Efren in his prime he'd get smoked.
I have highest regards for him. His simple, cool, composed, humble, smiling personality, quick judgemental moves n focused on his ball with no expression of anger makes him admirable. He is really a magical player. His accurate move are unpredictable. One would enjoy watching him play till the end. My highest salute to him. May Almighty bless him.....💕🌹😊
simpleng tao lang kahit gaanu kalayo na narating . Mula noon hanggang naun kong san ka nagsimula ganun kps din .. Like nyo kong totoo ysn talaga si idol efrendb?
Would love to meet effren...i played english pool for many years..won plenty of trophys and then for 15yrs never went on a table, last year i joined a club & took a fancy to american pool...its got me loving the game...very addictive & enjoyable when your shot works out
Thats interesting. I am sure we were not in the "same league", but there was a time I'd walk into a pool hall & people knew me. Those were my college years, (making enough money to pay for my books, my bar tab & some crappy food). Nowadays my eyes arent what they were & I have no idea where my "Ol Betsy" is (a Meucci I loved to play with). I'd like to get back into it. Edit: Funny story - Im @ one my local halls that I frequent. Owner tells me he bought a new cue. I ask him if I can use it, he says "sure!". I then ask him if its OK to break w/ it - he says "ok". I break an 8-ball rack with it and the cue explodes into 100 pieces. Shards everywhere, bits and pieces all over table - I am horrified, I just shattered the owners cue ! I turn around to look at him, and he's smiling "its OK it was cheap." I felt horrible, and kept offering to replace it, he said it was nothing. Good story though.
I know its kinda late cos its 1 year already has passed. But if you love to face our legend you can visit him here in our country. Best part is you can play billiards to his house the entire year as long as you like 😁
Efren Reyes is a genius in pool billiard. He is definitely the number 1 in the world! He is our modern day national hero, like Manny Pacquiao, for giving so much pride and honor to our country!
Unfortunately, in todays billiards gameplay he said "I can't beat anyone anymore in this age.".. He frequently tours provinces here in the Philippines including our province and often ends up losing to young players.. But still he's our legendary " Bata". Everyone respects him
Efren is so authentic with no sort of pretensions. Very humble till his retirement. He also knows his limitations unlike other popular athletes who joined politics because of popularity alone.
Efren knowledge in Pool are BEYOND OUR KNOWLEDGE. Even we watched his tricks over and over We can't understand his skills, The only Words coming out in our mouth is THE MAGICIAN.
Please... Take good care of our treasure :) many young players will try to discrimate and disrespect him for being old, i hope you'll protect him :) thank you in advance
All those crazy shots & not one of them was the famous Z-shot - the greatest shot in pool history. Guess anybody can look that one up on RU-vid. Goes to show how legendary this man is: when you can show a collection of his greatest shots & not include the one that made him a household name among pool & billiard fans.
The Magician, amazing as always. Legends enjoying pool as it should be. I also watched Fong Pang Chao in his prime as well, great player, accurate and calculated. First time seeing him smile as he is the “Cold Faced Killer”. lol. His championship match with Bustamante many years back in the Challenge of Champions if I recall was one of the best matches I have ever seen. Bustamante won but it was a hill-hill battle.
Not a lot of people know that when Efren won that $500,000.00, he didn't get ALL of the money. They didn't have it to give. He eventually got it in installments, like paying a Sears bill.
Your right he did not get paid from the IPT tour right away, he did get paid eventually but he did not get all. After not getting paid at first when he eventually got paid something he said that’s enough after getting barely 10%. Was not one game for .5M but rather a race he won against Rodney in the finals after a dozen other people he had to beat . So after what he collected from the IPT the color of money race to 120 against Earl is still his largest publicly known win for 100K.
Efren bata Reyes is the Idol of my husband, the simple & humble man,but sad that partner was already gone,GOD BLESS EFREN THE PRIDE OF FILIPINO PEOPLE...
It became JoKe in class that if Sir Efren Bata Reyes became great in sleeping Billiard tables maybe we can also great sleeping in classrooms......hahha but No it's his Passion and love for the sport...Real GOAT and a living Legend. Thank you for this compilation...I'm one of those watching his old matches because we don't have TV before to watch him.
There was once a live show on tv way back where he was challenged to do the break shot without hitting any of the 5 bottles standing on the play field, I can't find a copy of that, it was amazing
Efren Reyes s a master of 3 types of Carambola pool, he has great eyesight, he has the capability of seeing ways to pocket difficult shots in more ways, he loves pocketing balls with odd angles, he loves using sides in making a shot, he uses curve shot rather than jump shots, he even uses pocket corners to pocket a ball, he needs to feel nervous every time he plays which he uses as a motivation. He is a very humble and rarely say a word, Efren helps anyone in his community if they come to him for help.
We,Filipinos are more than proud having Efren "Bata" Reyes whom we give all our respect and lifetime admiration.I have never laid my eyes, watching any pool tournaments (local and international) until I've watched him on TV with his fight against Rodney Morris with a $500K prized money which he never got, anyway, for some reasons.Since then,I take time watching any of his random tournaments on TV.No one, ever, surpasses his record in the history of world pool.
This man is a Legend , from learning the tables with such perfection is absoulute mastery. From the rolls and the edges on pockets. you can give this man a stick in the woods and his perfection will be the most amazing thing that I ever did see. Respect . He is a master of his craft.
He reminds me of those old kung fu movies where an old man with mustache sometimes toothless and have a whacky personality turn out to be a a great master or a legendary kung fu warrior
In order to become a legend and a goat, one must capture the heart of the people, thats the ultimate requirement to became a legendary. And Efren did so.
He's like the hardest difficulty CPU on a ps5 snooker or pool game lol. The cuts and trick shots he does is nuts. He don't need position. He can pot from anywhere
Éste billarista tiene mucha confianza en si mismo,. Por eso le acompaña la suerte, además la mesa en la que juega , conoce al detalle, como ser las troneras anchas,. Las caídas, las bandas de los lados,etc....
Like a football maniac and many legend say also many anime - be friends with the ball This Guy prove that phrase still a fact... Efren live play and sleep with the pool from early age.... One of the pack people consider to be the G.O.A.T but for Efren no opponent can deny that His The Real GOAT of the Pool
Hi Cassie. I love swimming too. Listening to music and videogames tracksounds, Watching people playing and playing pool. Currently I'm watching LOST series.
