I just want to suggest to avoid or limit putting unecessary sounds (e.g. laughs) and picture / videos. I like the narration and the rawness of the game itself.
Efren seems like such a super nice and pleasant guy!! Can't stop smiling, saying humble things and giving respect to everyone else! One of my new favorite athletes of all time!
Efren reyes is a very humble person and down to 🌎....he respect all his opponent..proud to be filipino..efren is my most favorite player of all time..the G.O.A.T
When I was a kid, I wondered why Efren Reyes is in the textbooks.. I mean, I know he was good but I thought it's too much to put him in textbooks.. I never realized that he's not just good, he's the best player in the world!
dude for someone making efren videos , you have a lot to learn from him, especially the humble part, I'm a efren fan but your commentary just make me wanna root for the other guy
The lesson is: don't focus on beating your opponent. Focus on playing the game.. It doesn't matter if you're the better player. Focus to win not by stepping on your opponent but by improving yourself. You really don't have an opponent. You don't have to compete. You don't have to be envious on another's success. Just enjoy the game. That already made you a winner.
This is it. This comment here.. Everybody can learn from this match and apply it to whatever game one compete in. Amazing example of perfect sportsmanship..
I used to go to my grandfather every summer and he used to play with Efren and he even taught my uncle how to play. They will always play pool while drinking beers or sometimes just talk. I was little back then and Efren was like that drunk uncle that always made the room happy(He'll always give us small kids money when it's Christmas, it's a tradition we call it "Aginaldo" ). Sad that my grandpa died years ago and we had to sell grandpa house but Efren still has that smile and his kind heart.
I have played people who hung around the pool circuit. One would rack for fats and had pictures with all the top players, men and women. He played Irwin crain once and got beat. He was no slouch played him quite a bit he was in his 80s and pretty much held his own. He would go to moose clubs on the small tables and do well, winning the majority of the time. I have a friend who played pro, for cash many years until he did not feel it was right hustling pool. We sit 1 and 1 and has called me to play. I'm currently looking for a new stick, but I haven't had time to go and try it out. Currently, I'm using a Carum stick that I should not have played so much with it. Now, if I use my old stick, I'm putting way to much English on cue ball
Efren is an absolutely beautiful man. He has a quiet demeanor and is humble as can be. He’s taken the majority of his earnings and sent them back home to take care of family members and educations of relatives. He’s not selfish, but has a massively generous heart. I just recently started to watch these pool tournaments and come to absolutely love this man. No bull crap, just a killer pool master that doesn’t brag. How can you not love and respect a man like that in today’s world.
Other way around hes breakfast lunch and dinner is rotation and hes snacks in the middle is 9 ball and eight ball that's the fact he mentioned it so many time if you want to learn play and play rotation
@@BesGaming09 Efren, I know well, I started watching him play on Accu-Stats VHS Tapes in 1991. Mike Sigel, was the best player in the World in the Drcade of the 80's. Mike Sigel was ALWAYS a better Straight Pool player than Efren Reyes. He was also the winner of 101 major Titles in professional pool, as well as willing to play anyone for large sums of $. Mike Sigel was out of pool for a ling time when this match happened. Efren was playing pool every single day. When they asked Efren "Who was the player you respected the most", He said "Mike Sigel"
I have a friend who happens to live nearby where Efren usually plays, in a bar with a pool. He said that Efren usually plays like how he casually plays with his friends, well with an addition of beer on the sides lol. He's very down to earth and he's the type of guy you'd want to drink beer with.
Yeah, unlike the mouth who seemed like your typical insecure guy whos lost his hair and now absolutely cant take a loss, even when he's playing cards with his children. His loud mouthing is also a sign of that lack of confidence, while Efren just smiles all the time. You see who got the real confidence, charisma and is the true sigma male Chad thunder-cock here? Yep, its Efren and he just sparkles with charisma and a humble attitude. These are the people who are the best people to have a beer with and ofc to have as your friend. If Efren was my childhood friend, I know I would habe lucked out caus he just shows it even with his body language! It felt so good se him win, actually humiliate this loud mouth while not wven talking trash ONCE , actually just smiling at him , even when he was talking trash right at him! I mean... wow, he's emulating jesus here in terms of being humble! What an amazing guy really1
While Sigel is annoying as hell, he caught some seriously bad breaks. He didn't help himself on the couple of opportunities did get either. You can't do that when you are playing the GOAT. He just didn't know it yet. He though HE was the GOAT. Efren's control of the cue ball and mapping of his progressions is like no other I've ever seen. He makes it look effortless. Put all that together with his easy going, humble nature, how can you not love this guy?
I like your casting, your explanation helps us non-billiard players know what's happening but I advise you to tone down with the editing (sound effects, meme clips), the game itself is interesting there's no need to put those.
@@BesGaming09 and some people don't find it funny.. its a bad attitude to make fun of your opponent in a sport. Even Efren would not be happy with this..
All praises to you all the time Sir Efren. Thank you for your great contribution to sports, especially to the Philippines Sports History. Nawa po ay humaba pa ang buhay nyo at patuloy na mapagbigyan para lumahok muli sa ganyang kompetisyon. We love you, so proud of you Sir Efren!☺️💞🇵🇭🙏
Watching this again just to have a good laugh, observe Efren's facial expression when Sigel talks too much,he was smiling all the way maybe because he thought Sigel was complimenting him for the flawless strokes & perfect cue ball control..or he is just smiling because he have no idea what Sigel is babbling about..Efren only said he got lucky at the end of the video, how on earth does someone win 80 international titles based on luck?humble humble champion you are Efren Reyes
Mil, u r too smart that u think Efren cannot understand English. When the ocean is silent, means it is deep/smart. When it is too noisy, means it is shallow/less smart.
Efren is amazing and deserves it ALL but the editing and “shots” taken at Sigel was a bit much almost like bad sportsmanship from an obv Efren fan or just pure hater of Sigel - well done Efren! Amazing talent and game as always 👏
this video should’ve focused on Efren performance but instead it was a 10years old trash talk of the opponent. awful watch tainted Efren performence really imo
@@somebodystolemygoddamncarr520 In this case, it is younger. There are two Efren Reyes playing billiard in his province. The Magician is younger. Hence, he is nicknamed "Bata"
Mike, underestimated Efren. You played for 40 years, Efren living on the pool table for life.....lol. the legend. Next time don't belittling the Asian. Karma comes to you.....lol
I went to watch the game after this video, Mike actually did quite well in this tournament. Sure it was below his usual standard( I assume), but for someone who was off and took longer to focus on getting the job done, he really gave it what he could...with that said...Efren is a BEAST of pool player.
Oh horseshit. Mike Sigel is also one of the greatest pool player in history. He played great to get there and had a bad run against a great player. Happened to Efren throughout his career too.
The most frustrating on this video is the editing. Too much video clips that refers from movies that the only role is just to say shut up which makes it more frustrating and the repetition of lines are just too much.
no one even notice that sigel has been drinking that empty bottle 12:12 every time reyes scores 😆 edit: wow Thank You for the 40 likes ❤️ my first time !
You should have shown that long 8-ball shot Efren made to win one of the games in this match. It was awesome and it really should have been in this video
His "incessant need" to add comedy ends up being more disrespectful than funny. Its embarrasing to think, as a filipino himself, he did not understood how Efren respects everyone - including his opponents.
I absolutely understand where you're coming from but I have to disagree with you in this case. That guy was nothing but rude through the whole thing. Bragged about all his years playing, talked through almost every single shot Efren took. I'm more upset that the reffs didn't say anything to him about being quiet or being disqualified. I've seen them do it in snooker and every other game I've watched. Why does uncle Bob get a pass just cuz he came out the retirement home to play? This guy's a joke as far as I'm concerned. I'm not even gonna brag about my skills on a table but just from watching him, I can almost 100% garontee you I could beat Mr Sigel in a match. I play pretty decent under pressure, especially if the opponent does nothing but talk crap and can't even back it up. He deserved this imo
@@mad7medieval7 I’m sure your a very good pool player, Mike is better than what you see here, the prize money and the fact that he’s playing against the goat 🐐 is probably why he’s choking and talking so much.
@@williamdevera3742 Ok, don’t listen.. lol.. But, you do realize there are 5-6 dudes who played in Efren’s era who would torture Efren, playing 9-ball, right?..And I believe 9-ball is a terribly flawed game, I play one pocket.. So I have a lot of respect for Efren.. I’m just not clueless, like you.. Guys like Sigel, Nick, Buddy... Would just rob Efren playing 9-ball.. And Sigel would rob him playing straight pool, too..
@@jacobjones5269 maybe ur right but as u can efren,s get better as he gets older thats what makes them different and they have always been proud that they are so good on the other side efren always keep quiet and let his skills talking not he,s mouth like siegel did thats what make efren the goat even if they trashtalk him or distracted him while playing he didnt respond to them and hes super humble unlike the other hes always saying that hes got lucky everytime he wins
What a game! Efren Reyes has an incredible spin control! Always feel good to watch "The Magician" playing! Love watching your videos man, keep up the good work.
Too many unecessary memes, man. Changed my like to a dislike. Couldn't understand anything with the screen cutting to some unfunny shit every two seconds. Efren is a good showman by himself, let him do his magic and stop overcompensating.
I really like Efren Reyes he is such a humble man and one of the very best shooters to ever play this game.. he deserves to win that prize and trophy.. He truly is a magician on the table..
"I Think"......Efren is such a humble person, an idol, that nothing would make him prouder than to be "Beaten" by an upcoming player of high caliber pool. Efren often plays at small events and halls that he grew up in sleeping on the tables....I think he would "Be Honored" to pass on the stick to one as him. HE IS A WORKING MAN'S IDOL.....
I'm still remember watching this match back in 2005 with my dad. The Magician gave ZERO chance to The Mouth. His rotation, placement and trick shot will blown you away. If you call Mike a legend, you may call Reyes a GOD. Not a doubt at all he is The Greatest Player of All Time.
@@Shinyboy29 I’ll keep the Bible to myself, if you keep your opinions to yourself. Yet here we are, listening to you share your opinion, whilst you dictate to others what to do. lmao.
Never heard of efren suing someone or a tournament.but What i heard was people were telling him to sue but he gave them a chance to pay him in installments.
Him talking alot was just his defense mechanism. He's obviously felt humiliated bc didn't score at least one. He lost his concentration or he was never ready for this match. He seems disturbed and pressured that's why he missed those shots for a pro like him. One, two, three missed shots is acceptable but like throughout the whole match? He wasn't in his mental condition for this match that's why he missed even those shots that even amateur can pull off.
That's part of sports actually. It's different when practicing than when playing sports against someone who's very good and you're getting humiliated in front of many people. It would take a lot of courage to get a hold of yourself
he is none other than .... (drum roll) ... the Magician ... a man who needs no introduction ... the one ... the only ... Efren ... BATA ... R E Y E S ! ! ! !
I don’t think the other guy meant anything by saying he’s played pool for forty years. But apparently it seems you think he’s being cocky? I don’t think Efren thinks the other guy is being cocky either. Nor was he taken-a-back by it. He was just concentrating on his game.
sigel won 10 championships, still deserves a big respect. plus it's obviously such an unlucky game for him. 😂 efren could make tougher shots than Sigel obviously, which means efren's the better one in any angle. 💯
@@dkdanglz6662 I knew that Americans were bad at geography, but to that point... So, for your education, Philippines is an Asian country, colonizated by Spain
@@dkdanglz6662 damn this is so relatable. an american once told me (online) that I'm not asian bcs my surname is Dela Cruz. I'm also from the Philippines 😭
Efren Bata Reyes is one of the most correctly Poolplayer. Never seen him angry or disrespecting his opponents. He is and remains a great asset to pool sports.
I think Efren is not only great at getting the ball inside the hole, but also great at position his white ball. While Sigel only focusing on making the ball go inside the hole.
After deducting $5 from The Mouth for every stupid comment, Efren took home $200,000, and The Mouth took home $10. The remaining $99,990 was distributed evenly to all audience members for having to listen to The Mouth for 3 hours.
