Hey guys, great conversation. I am a Kenyan. In the last one year I have been exposed to reformed theology thanks to Ligonieer Ministries, Grace to You and now G3 Ministries via RU-vid which have in many ways corrected my misinformation on such matters as this. This issue is so hot but from where I come from its not even an issue. Its normal to have women pastors around here. We cannot stay quiet on this matter. Its a matter of the authority of scripture and of the gospel. Thanks for taking this up G3.

How I long for every true believer to listen to G3 miniseries’ podcast so that the truth of Lord and His words can be learnt and retained and applied in life. I praise God and I thank God for these 3 faithful and bold saints of Lord, brothers Josh, Virgil and Scott and their steadfastness standing firm in Lord and The Gospel. Hallelujah. Soli Deo Gloria.

I'm currently reading (or listening) to Masculine Christianity by Zachary M Garris, listened to Dale Partridge's podcast episode called "Should Women Teach Theology to Other Women?", and have also listened to some interviews with author Dr. David D. Edgington concerning abusive wives. All very insightful and clarifying. This conversation (and I pray correction and repentance) has been a long time coming, and seems to be at the top of mind of ministries across the board.

You said that Deborah led Israel only because Barak would not step up to lead. Is this true? I can not find a single scripture to justify that statement. In fact scripture says that she was a prophet! A God ordained position, she also was a judge over Israel.

Judges 4 does not actually say Barak was failing to lead. Do you think he wanted Deborah’s sword to protect him, and that’s why he asked her to come with him? Her rebuke implies some tension between male and female here, but it does not say what that tension is. Maybe he doubted the word of God could come through a woman, and he wanted to see if she’d stake her life on it by coming with him. Absolutely, this is speculation - but so is the patriarchist assumption. Barak then went and gathered his brave men without issue. Where is the dearth of men acting in their role?

@G3 What is your stance on women reading in front of a congregation?

Hello, men of God. What advice do you have for a family where the wife doesn't yield to her God ordained role in the home and the husband wants to home school the children, but she refuses so she can pursue her own career? And what if he is willing to do so? Is this still biblically considered a role reversal? Thanks for the godly wisdom that you all impart.

I use to believe that it was ok for women to teach or preach if the pastor said it was ok. I do not believe that anymore.

Can you give examples of women who are educating the body of Christ in a God glorifying way? Timothy's mother (Eunice) and grandmother (Lois) taught him the scriptures. 2 Timothy 1:5. Are there any modern examples of Eunice and Lois, operating rightly under Biblical authority? There's a great series from Ligonier that Elisabeth Elliot taught. Is this a positive example?

Do men cease to be men, and women cease to be women, outside of the sacred sermon hour? Paul’s supposed reasoning going back to creation does not apply outside of the “church service?” A man is a fool not to listen to the counsel of his wife? Don’t you have some thinking to do, or are the pesky details not worth your time? To bow to the authority of scripture, moreover, is to acknowledge that Christ himself forbade the exercise of authority among us. I Timothy 2 does not actually give authority into the hands of the male. That is presumed, in defiance against Christ. I Corinthians 14 is the most detailed description of a gathering of the saints that we have. Orderliness is there presented as the self-control to let someone else talk. Do pastors, as currently conceived, exhibit this self-control? How loyal are you to the word of God?

Alas. G3 more like C3 -- Calvinist, Cessationist, Complementarian -- which means Strike 3.

Sorry when the abuse was hidden for 20 years I don’t believe you think women being abused is as important as women pastors. I don’t believe women should be pastors. The his is huge hypocrosy!
