This is by far THE BEST egg pie on RU-vid... It turned out perfect and very tasty! Its my father's favorite.. He's a 86 year old from Miss... His mother made them all the time... He stamped it with his approval! Thank you for allowing me to make him happy... Keep those southern videos coming! ❤❤❤

Lawd That is a real Egg Pie from down Home.....My Father was born in Mississippi and my Mother was born in Tennessee and My mother and grandmothers were absolutely the Best cooks I have known in My Life and that is how they did it ....I stayed in the kitchen and that is how I got my Wife...Cooking

You got that voice, know how,every once & a while some slang, a recipe within it's self, momma got it going on ! Ive Appreciated every how to video, with a taste, those greens with Lipton onion soup, fried or boiled they're the Bomb, I've never had such comfort in knowing greens could taste like that. I took care of my mother for 13 years after she got to a point where she couldn't take care of herself. One great thing about that was she taught my (couldn't cook) behind how to get busy in the kitchen. I learned a lot but near the end of her meeting God she struggled to try to remember how to teach me to make Egg Custard Pie. Poor thing, she forgot some things in the recipe and I never quite got it right. I promise my sister who loved her pie I would get it right and it appeared that it would never happen until I looked up your recipe and that is the way my mom made them. You are such a blessing with your gift of cooking! .... Larry

Theirs nothing like old fashioned cooking and you make everything seems so simple, like you said a lot of it is common sense. Thanks for the recipe. Just put my first egg custard pie in the oven and you are right getting them in the oven without spilling is quite a challenge. Listening to you takes me back to my childhood I was raised by several women as my mom had her hands full taking care of elderly relatives. All of those ladies were great southern cooks. Wish I could go back and learn how they did the things they did.

Thank you so much for sharing this! When I was a teenager my grandmother asked us grandkids “whats your favorite dessert because I’m gonna make it for you and teach you how to make it”. My grandmother was a FANTASTIC cook and made all types of food and dessert: duck, turtle, chicken, roast, frog, squirrel, tomatoe cobbler, blackberry cobbler, peach cobbler, banana pudding, sweet potato pie, and egg pie. I loved all her food but I didn’t want to go through a lot of trouble making me something so I told her “an egg pie”. I lost the recipe and as a teenager I didn’t realize how much I’d regret not knowing any of her recipes. I’m 48 years old now and I’m now a grandmother and my grandmother has been gone for around 12 years now but she would have been 100 years old this year. I’m definitely going to make this pie and I’ll probably smile and cry the entire time I eat the first slice just thinking about my Madea! You’ve got me in tears right now. But thank you so much

I got them from.Wal-Mart... I live in St. Louis, Mo. But im sure you can order on line. The brand is a line full of frozen dinners and dessert. Hope you try them! Delicious😊

Hi Miss Mae Mae. I remember as a child, visiting my Grandmother in Texas and her making egg pies. Some call them custard pies, others put flaked coconut in the batter and call them coconut custard pies. Either way, they all taste good. As always, you are a blessing and I love your channel. Thanks!!
