I'm not sure why but Unleashed and Black Knight generally had a kind of "finale" feel to them. They almost definitely weren't planning to end the series but given they were the last mainline game of the 2000s and the last game altogether of the 2000s it makes you wonder
I mean 2008 had some good looking video games that still look good today. The cartoony look this game had also adds to it. Kinda sad new Sonic games now don't look as good as Unleashed did
@@lucky_dog1228the egg dragoon is meant to be a breather after eggmanland, and before dark Gaia, but I still think both fights are a bit TOO easy. You’ll drain 3/4 of his health here in QTES, and the unwiished dragoon just doesn’t do crap
Sonic does sound pretty chest fallen here or at the very least exhausted. And I can't blame him. After all, he knows now that if Eggman destroyed the last rock, he's literally going to fall to his death. It's literally do or die.

No way he's going to fall to his death either when he literally jump onto Eggman or stretch those long ass arms of his. Not to mention Chip would finally use his power to call all 7 emeralds to use the Gaia temple instead of just sitting an watching Sonic struggle for 10 min which is also unrealistic. 😂😂
feel like they’d never even think of doing something like this again. Unleashed was done so dirty man, it was really the peak of modern Sonic, atleast for me
@@utrarafat For real. Sonic day stages are just so much fun to replay than the stages in Generations. Sonic's movement felt looser and better to control too and there was less 2D in Unleashed
Now people may wonder why they made it take so long for this to occur but they also forget, you're falling from the surface to the Earth's core no wonder it takes so long especially with all the platforms
Kinda jarring how they gave this fight a time limit to how many platforms you can stand on, but with how easy it is to not reach the limit, there's no way anyone would be able to notice it without doing it in purpose. I just wanted to hear the extra bit of dialogue that you wouldn't be able to hear for the most part. 😅
I guess so. It reminds me of the boss fights in the 3D vertical-scrolling-shooter game Hyperspace Invader by URSE Games and Alawar Entertainment (here's my walkthrough of the game: ru-vid.com/group/PLdccrhR-yjF5hCpMvkJjPnik9LuxmJL_I) where bosses will charge their super weapon that will instantly kill you and take all your lives and end the game when fully charged and if boss fight takes too long to finish.
I really wish they had made an extra cutscene or something to really tie the whole scene together. Even if they’d made a slightly different death animation that would have made it so much better. I tried this myself before watching this video to see how far I could go down, and I got the extra line, then the classic death animation. Kinda lame. But still cool to discover

He fell into magma, but right before he did, he became Super Werehog and almost killed Eggman, but Dark Gaea drained Super Werehog of his powers, reverting him back to Super Sonic.
Relax if you died then you try again Luckily to get to that point with this boss is hard . Probably the hardest thing about this boss is ensuring u press the buttons fast enough
@@megamillion5852 Yeah, everybody dies offscreen. But rather than having any special animation, the game just kills Sonic/Shadow and restarts the fight if you exceed five minutes.
It’s the equivalent of Star Fox 64 Macbeth boss if you spend almost 7 minutes fighting him and not beat him, he’ll instant kill you, even at full health. Also the Golamech boss in Venom and hit a dead end and you keep crashing until your ship explodes.
Tbh I never knew that could happen since the Egg Dragoon is not that hard as the first final boss like you can beat it within 3 minutes on the Xbox 360/PS3
@@chillycoldchomper9389 One caveat I have to mention is that it only really works if you have the lightspeed dash already, since the majority of rings come from that section.
Unrealistic, Sonic wouldn't spend 10min fighting a boss, Eggman of all people 😂, He wouldn't fall anywhere either with those long ass arms. Probably use it to climb Dragoon and kick it's ass. Chip also wouldn't sit there, he would actually form the gaia temple and use the 7 chaos Emeralds earlier to help Sonic which is still again, Unrealistic. If anything Sonic would kill himself after 10 minutes in a boss fight. 😂
