I discover your channel today and I'm a african born in Ghana bit living in Europe. I never knew we had such a beautifull history and so many kingdoms! It is crazy that I know all about the European kingdoms but never knew anything about the Africans! From today I will play your video's during dinner and playtime so my kids will learn more about their background! Keep up the good work!

MrPpd12 if we research we would all see that different empires took over Afrique from different places periods. And the original Ethiopies and Egypt was large...Very vast.
I am from a small town in north sudan, its about 80m from Old Dongola ( capital of Christian nubia ) and about 140m from kerma!! I am glad I run into this video man, great work I'll share it in some of the history based groups of Sudanese people

As a kid in public schools back in the day. Id here reference to Nubian kingdoms while discussing Egypt and question it often and noticed. I was being lead away from the topic. Being a white guy, I thought it very odd that I was lead away. Had to talk with a pair of friends that were black to hook them into it. We took our SOCIAL STUDIES teacher apart that year. Kinda eased racial tentions in our school that year too. I've always known that Nubia pre dated Egypt and made it what it is now in our history.
A brain would tell you they are in Africa. Use your brain to see through the fog. Jesus if alive today would look like Osama Bin Laden but just to hear me say that infuriates ignorant people.
@Kemetau 4ever It's an entertainment movie. Not a a historically accurate documentary........Those are actors portraying characters from script........ Wait I have an idea. Go write your own script. Film your own movie and cast whomever you like!!! In the mean time stop crying over spilled milk to serve your racist agenda against white people.
I love your programs. I wish you would include more maps locating the places you discuss. There are some good historical atlases of Africa. Maybe some of their maps are in public domain. Thank you for posting these history lessons.
jiggadred they won’t make a movie on this. Saying we were responsible for our own destruction. It’s too late. Religion is not controlling the masses like it used to. The newest way to keep us looking one way while there real shit is happening the other way is by using the media to promote racism. White and black focus on each other and that’s it. We are all sheep
We need more black film makers interested in the arts. They’re never gonna do us justice. Only we can. The black youth should be encouraged to do all things, not just basketball/football scholarships and trying to become rappers.
I'm sure there's older civilizations, but their proof is lying somewhere in British households as souvenirs from expeditions. The books are in the basement if the Vatican.
@Robert Scott Bruh, go research the vatican archives. African history and art isn't the only thing they stole they did the same to a lot of other cultures, that's why it's forbidden to any public access; the Vatican got half the world's history hidden way. And not just hidden history but other shit too but I'm just keeping it light, she's on to something you should look into it.
@Robert Scott ofc bro I was not disagreeing at all, we still got history and we still have identity. Even more richer than a lot of other parts of Europe. But think of all the African philosophers of the ancient world that we never heard of that's hidden there. How the pyramids were truly built etc... things mainstream history cannot answer; it's all in the Vaticans archives... Occult knowledge like that was stolen and hidden away. People think a lot knowledge of Africa ancient past was burned during the scramble for Africa I personally believe it's all locked away in the Vatican that snake ass city/Church
Back then sub Sahara africa was called Ethiopia. The country Ethiopia came later. Ethiopia or aethiopia is Greek for burned face, or tanned face. And they ment dark skinned people with that. That’s why the Romans called a lot of africa Ethiopia. Later the country of Ethiopia adopted this name
Dominic 'The Great' Kabinga a lot of northern Sudanese are actually descended from Arabs but a lot are also nubians and Egyptians. The southerners are probably closer in stock to central African groups than eastern I think

One thing the Greeks got right was the facts Egypt was founded by the Ethiopians ie: Nubians & they recognized the connection between Ethiopia, Egypt & Colchis *Excellent* breakdown
Nubians didn't start Egypt. That's misinformation. The earliest starting point for the Egyptian civilization was the southern Egyptian city of Hierakonpolis or Nekhen. Hierakonpolis: news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2014/05/140530-egypt-archaeology-pharaohs-hierakonpolis-tomb/ Also,no Nubian writing is older than Egyptian writing.
ancient history of oromo oromia when e referring Ethiopia in ancient time, we are talking about Abyssinians who destroyed Kushite Dynasty the Sabean Habeshan who enter married with us locals and slowly Destroyed our Meroe Writing ✍🏿 and replacing it with Ge’ez. We became melting pot... accepting their and the force of Greco Roman sides with them our influence decline. Eventually the even stole our name given to us by Greeks Athiopia to fight against us making a fool out of, by the time we found out the name ethiopia refereed to us we hate it that Ethiopia don’t represent us but hey we have generation with identity crisis but we are working In awaking their conciouse and balance we were great kings with rules and order who gave refugee to Syrian Arabs Greeks and Rome. Josephus one wrote our Justice system till south Arabian settler came we were still with great 👍 justice after a new blood of abashaniya hybrids contaminated our system call Gadaa. We taught Moses .but Jewish, Arabs and Greeks translated a new Fithanagast and and ruined our system from Egypt • crypto Coptic fairy tales ... imposed in our systems for over a thousand years👌
Excellent video. I'm so glad somebody finally cleared up the confusion and pointed out that the term "nubian" is technically incorrect as it was not a term Egyptians used. Very important to point out they were not all the same people but several distinct ethnic groups. The Medjay are very interesting. They are still there today. They are the Besharin or Beja people. The Medjay were so integrated into Egyptian society that after a while the term Medjay lost any ethnic significant and became the term for the police force regardless of ethnicity. Only thing is that the Christian kingdoms didn't convert to Islam as a result of intermarriage with Arabs. What happened was they had allied themselves with the Christian crusaders from Europe. The crusaders were defeated and in retaliation, the Nubians were forced to convert by the Muslim rulers of Egypt at that time. Really interesting when you consider the Egyptian Christians were never forced to convert which is why there is still a large Christian population in Egypt today. In fact they were instrumental in the deciphering of the hieroglyphics because they still speak the final stage of the Egyptian language in the church in much the same way Catholics had preserved Latin.
Actually the population of Copts in Egypt is dwindling greatly by Muslim persecution. They used to make up 70% of the Egyptian population. Keep in mind Christianity had been in Africa and the Middle East for decades, long before Mohammed was born. However, i disagree with you that the Copts themselves speak the ancient Egyptian language of hieroglyphics. Due to the fact that Egyptians are mixture of people from East Africa, Arabs and Europeans, including the Copt's. The Egyptian language died a long time ago. There is no one alive today that can read it, including these white Europeans who think they do. They are just making crap up from their ***. It's due to this admixture that Egyptian history is the most contested and inaccurate history in mankind history!
Aksum አክሱም ፣ ንግሥት coptic was the last stage of the Egyptian language. In the written form they had adopted a modified version of the Greek alphabet. You are right that no one speaks it as an everyday language, but it is used in the church in the same way you use geez. The hieroglyphs were deciphered because of the rosetta stone and the fact that Coptic is still spoken cerimonially in the church. Yes it is true that Copts are mixed, but they were pretty much the same as they are now by the time the Arabs arrived. Egypt had been a Christian nation for centuries before Islam because when the Romans made Christianity the state religion all the temples throughout the Empier were closed and the priests killed. Those who had not converted were forced to do so. Today Copts are a minority because the majority of the poulation converted to Islam. The conversion process and the loss of the spoken Coptic lsnguage took several hundreds if yesrs to happen.
TRUTHTEACHER2007 That is true most of the ppl in Egypt are copts lol ppl fail to realize that! They are either copts and some of them have Arabic blood bc of some intermarriage but everyone or virtually everyone of them have some Coptic ancestry.t The Arab writters are open about this in older writings. We have to also realize that the ppl who are called copts, were most likely mixed before the Arabs due to invasions of perisans, Greeks and Romans.
@@HelloWorld1947 You're uneducated and sound like a Racist Afro-centrist by calling Europeans ''white''. Those ''white'' Europeans are very educated in subjects like these and spent centuries trying to translate these languages.
Love your content! One suggestion: It would be helpful to refer to “Egypt” as Kemet. The name “ Egypt” came from the Greeks way after the timeline of this video.
why? its not the year 2270 BC. and thats one name out of 40 others ancient egyptians used. we dont call france gual or england saxony. it;s bot called by its ancient names anymore. we egyptians call it MASR. it means the land of two straights or the two lands. all the names we have for egypt are derived from topgraphy and geographical attributes/features. only after the mamluks started ruling egypt did we start to name some locations by the new or major dominant group that moved/lived in these new places in egypt. only us egyptians have the right to chose/decide the name of our country
The Kushites technically were the originators(through ancestral lineage), but kush and Egypt mixed cultures as a sign of alliance and peace, not Egypt or Kushite domination... this sounds a lot like the greek narrative...
That’s what I was saying, like even the art style, how can you say they birthed the culture but thence adopt the art styles? Kemet was a mixture between many Nile valley civilisations as well as western Saharan Africans.
Ancient Egypt and Nubia were one empire. It is not till recent times Nubians were separated from Egypt due to the Arab and European occupiers that saw black Egyptians as foreigners and called the Nubians. The people the ancient Egyptians had rivalry with were southern Sudanese people. You can see they closely resemble the images on ancient egyptian walls.

I’ve been going through your vids one after the other the past few days. I’m really captivated by the content and I want to dive deeper and get a better all around grasp on African history. What are some book recommendations you have?

@ 10:30 Google Mentuhotep II, he started the Middle Kingdom of Egypt - "The XIIth Dynasty (1991-1786 B.C.E.) originated from the Aswan region. As expected, strong Nubian features and dark coloring are seen in their sculpture and relief work. This dynasty ranks as among the greatest, whose fame far outlived its actual tenure on the throne." (Yurco 1989)
relax dude, he wasn't nubian, geez. u guys get such a hard on for our heritage and you completely cast aside your real rich roots. some of us egyptians share some features with some africans, but you know what else? some of us look like indians some like yeminis some like southern europeans but the majority of us look like egytpians, an ethnic group that belongs to north africa. africa is not exclusevely black. its a continent. no continent on planet earth has solely one type or one ethnic group of people. this has not happened even on one single continent. they always have atbleast 3 native to the land
Kush is in the Hebrew bible, as a name of an African kingdom south of Egypt. In modern Hebrew a declension of Kush , which means a person from the land of Kush, is a derogatory term for black people, like the N word in America. usually used against Israel's Ethiopian Jewish community, but lately also against the community of African refugees that found themselves in Israel. how people can ruin perfectly good words with racial filled hate.
You are right. Just like the word Hebrew is a corrupted form of "Apari" . "Apari omo Yakuba" meaning bald headed child of Yakub. All is fun. we are one under God.
Cushites are the originators of Egypt. Where do you think the first King Menes/Narmer come from? He was from the south in the land of Cush. Egypt wasn't always a habitable land it use be a swampy area cover under water. Once the flood waters cleared, these Cushitic people built dams/cataracts in order to cultivate the land that would become Egypt.

Wow! this is a great information. I'm currently reading "Rock of ages" by Ras Ben so these names definitely got my attention. So it's very easy to see how the Kemet and the whole continent could fall to the hands of knuckle draggers.
Amen Brother! You broke it down to a whole new level! I'm pretty well educated on the history of the Nile Valley civilizations, but you def taught me a thing or two! You have gained a fan!
Please make videos about the following subjects! I know there is SO much to talk about but I feel like people neglect these area: 1- The Fulani Wars and how it changed the region. (Talk about Usman Fodio) 2- The Swahili Coast. (I read MANY books about this region and most scholars are lazy and they don't get deep in the black population of that area, but I am from there and so I know that the swahili culture wasn't an arab culture exclusively. The arabs were just part of a larger melting pot) 3- Black people outside of africa like: al jahiz, a black arab like myself, who is considered one of the greatest arabic prose writers in history or someone like antara bin shaddad (The badass, up to this day when speaking arabic if you want to say someone is a badass you call them antar) or Bilal bin rabah or Kafur al ikhshidi etc 4- The love between Majnoon (Qays) and Layla (In some sources she is black from ethiopia) This is the romeo and juliet of north africa, west asian, south asian, and south east asia
Thank you, Home Team/brother, for all the history you share of Africa and the diaspora!! You're educating us about tribes and ancient peoples we wouldn't necessarily have known about. The Holy Bible speaks of the Cushites in the Book of Genesis. However, you're delving deeper into these people and sharing tons of information!! Thanks!!!💯
Most amazing video yet. Wow. Puts alot into perspective. I am one of those who were scrupling with the Egypt/Nubian history as well as cushites. It all makes sense now. I was always fascinated by world history since u was young; I really noticed alot of acronyms along the way. I am just shocked each time I read and view more videos of our history and some of my suspicions have been affirmed.....
I always wondered what would've happened if the Kushites and the Hyksos would've been able to successfully unite their forces against the Egyptians and defeat them. By the way, I love your channel. Its very informative. Keep spreading the knowledge.
@@xosamax439 Yes, The 25th Dynasty was Nubian. Prior to that, Ahmose I was especially fearful of a double threat from the Nubians and the “Shepherd Kings”.
The info you provided i.e. breaking up Nubia into the varying groups is new to me. I knew about Kemet, Nubia and Kush as the lands that were united under King Narmer. Since Nubia and Kush made up TaSeti, then the united two lands have to be Kemet (TaMeri) and Nubia/Kush (TaSeti). The info you provided will make me go and look at that history again. Thank you the contributions you make in the upliftment of African people. One question; why do you refer to the land as Egypt and not Kemet?
no, the two lands were upper and lower egypt. he mentioned all that in his vid, he even said that they werent the same people. they didnt belong to the same ethnic group, even the language and their roots and origin were completely different, u guys only hear what u wanna hear
AWSOME! I was thinking of a game with Egyptians and Nubians with their wars, though I didn't know why they went war, this was very informative , thanks home team!
@@antoniogutierrezjr3175 Don't talk about what you don't know.you people cause enough problems. They are both black and Brown. But you are not happy with! You have to always divide. Why don't you divide your own people. I am GOLD Brown, my sister is creamy brown, my brother looks more European, all same mother and father, so you would like to divide us up to suit your little mind. Why can't you just leave people alone to live. Plus the Egyptians now were never the same as the ancient Egyptians. Go research with an open mind.
A fourth-century Roman soldier and historian, Ammiuanus Marcellinus stated: "...the men of Egypt are mostly brown or black with a skinny desiccated look."
This is a very nice story of my own ancestors. Currently Nubian are really scattered you will find some in Kenya, Uganda and within Sudan they are divided into two: the mountainous Nuba who are in South Khordofan where I came from, you will find moro (meroen) clan within here and they strongly believe that they came from Dongola alajus (old dongola). The other group Nilo-sahara Nubian are still at the original position. Though they have diluted their culture into islamism. Can you please make a video on how this people have come to separate till some are in Kenya and Uganda while they were at a single point.
Your videos are my absolute favorites you break down and name off shoot ethnic groups like no other scholar like with the Nubians from North,Eastern and South region's I always stop and get a piece of paper so I can follow along alot quicker. Some of the most often quoted historians are Strabo, Diodorus Siculus, and Herodotus.[38] Herodotus states in a few passages that the Egyptians were black/dark. According to most translations, Herodotus states that a Greek oracle was known to be from Egypt because she was "black", that the natives of the Nile region are "black with heat", and that Egyptians were "black skinned with woolly hair".[39] Lucian observes an Egyptian boy and notices that he is not merely black, but has thick lips.[38] Diodorus Siculus mentioned that the Aethiopians considered the Egyptians a colony.[46] Appollodorus, a Greek, calls Egypt the country of the black footed ones.[38] Aeschylus, a Greek poet, wrote that Egyptian seamen had "black limbs."[47] Greeks sometimes referred to Egyptians as Aethiopians[48] - not to be confused with inhabitants of the modern-day nation of Ethiopia who were instead referred to as Abyssinians or Habesha and their land as Abyssinia.
