By the end of May, everyone can witness the chicks' hatching and the parents' dedicated care for them.
Such devices give us useful information about the diet and the behaviour of the species. They help us make the right decisions when implementing direct conservation activities, like feeding, and provide us with information about the ecology and the biology of the birds. We are witnessing the construction of the nest, laying eggs, chicks hatching and feeding.
Last but not least, technologies such as online video cameras connect people with the secret life of birds and provoke interest and commitment to the globally endangered species-one of the most important factors for its preservation.
The camera for online observing of Egyptian vultures’ nests is broadcast on the RU-vid profile of the LIFE project “Egyptian Vulture New LIFE.” Two more cameras are transmitting on the website www.LifeNeophron.eu-from the adaptation aviary for release to the wildlife of Egyptian vultures raised in captivity and from the Green Balkans Wildlife Rescue Center, where the Egyptian vulture pair is also currently incubating.
