It really is hard to get right and that is why I was so impressed with it. I feel like the strymon big sky FINALLY has a competitor after nearly a decade.
Yes, I just read the manual for you and this is available in both the alternate function parameters and with an additional footswitch. I hope I earned your subscribtion today.
Pre-ordered about three weeks ago, but because of Covid, just read that EHX started shipping it to the shops. During this time I've been doing more research, and really fell in love with what I read about Walrus Audio Slo. I am wondering if you tried that one, and thinks Oceans 12 might do pretty much all the Slo can do (or more), or if you think they are completely different and could work separately (or even together). Thank you!
I have not tried the Walrus Audio slo but they do have great algorithms, it really depends on what you're trying to do. To me the Source audio ventris and strymon big sky are the best options for reverb, a close third place would be the number immerse. It seems like the Oceans 12 has far more features but as far as sound, the Slo might do one sound better, you'll have to compare for yourself. The great thing is, my demo has amazing audio for comparison. While my video quality still isn't as good as the big guys, my audio quality exceeds the big guys. I think running two reverbs together is reserved for ambient stuff but what are you trying to accomplish? I might have some recommendations to make.
@@GearSounds You should link your demo when you mention it in the comments. Not all people are knowledgeable enough to understand you've provided links in the "more" menu, or even that the more menu exists. I'll have to check that out, because the audio here is poop.
@@JeighNeither I believe the video I was referencing was actually this one but the audio is as good as it gets on a show floor, to be honest. With all the noise a shotgun mic is the only option that cuts out some of the life of the amp. One of my home demos like my SY-1 Demo might be more of your taste.
@@GearSounds Yeah, I did check out your channel. I think I subscribed ( I hadn't, but I have now). I used to do grip work, so I guess I'm a little spoiled, but have you ever thought about using an attenuator & trying to grab some of the amp audio directly to a recording device in these live demo situations? The tech didn't exist maybe 5 years ago; affordable tech that is, but you could do it for a few hundred dollars today... assuming you have a good laptop or tablet. Just a suggestion. P.S. Why don't you put out more content? I completely understand, it's not so easy, & we all have lives, but you have some great videos, & have had a little success, I'm just curious as to what slowed you down, outside of any personal matters of course.
@@GearSounds I've never been to NAMM despite living in NYC, but now that I think of it; it's probably not the best place to ask if you could plug in an attenuator real quick... they probably only give you a set amount of time to get your interview & then get lost.
It depends on if you have something plugged into the R/Return on this pedal. It acts in different ways depending on how you set it up but I don't believe it ever mutes one of your amps in a stereo setup. It is my understanding this is simply a stacked reverb function. In other words, one reverb going into the other, not one reverb type for each amp. However a mode like this may exist but I don't think it would function that way.
Gear sounds, your video is the one that has gone deeper into the pedal and shows its versatility. Thank you so much, honestly. Did they say when it's coming out?? I've been waiting too long for it. By the way, I love how you get excited with the features!
Thank you so much. I might not be a big company but I take pride in my ability to record good audio and show everything a pedal can do in a short time. Yes I do take great joy in the features of reverb pedals as reverb and synth pedals are my favorite. You're very welcome. In this video he said they are aiming for a march release date with an undetermined price as of now.
That is a good question, if they release it at Namm next year, you WILL hear about it from me as I visit them at Namm every year. If they release it between Namms I don't have the budget to cover it. Right now I'm too small of a channel to garner attention from companies. I hope they do as I love my mod 11.
@@GearSounds You would think EHX would have gotten their demo out immediately. Do you own this pedal, or was this your only time with it? It's still on my list... next on my list maybe, & I'm sure it will be a good investment, especially since it's priced lower than Strymon & other big players in the market, but I'm curious how the EHX holds up to them.
HAHAHAHA I thought of editing that out hoping that no one would catch that. Yes I know it is "cream of the crop". I nearly kicked myself in editing but I thought it was funny and stupid, hoping it would make someone laugh or comment this I left it in. Glad you caught it haha. Laughing so hard right now lol.
That is a great question, I am not sure that you can but I am also not sure if we mention it in the video. If you can he would have mentioned it somewhere in this video. If not I know there are pedals that allow you to save favorites with almost any pedal.
@@horizonontheroof I'm a small enough channel to reply to every comment for now. I hope it doesn't stay that way forever ;P. Thanks for watching! I wish I could be of more help.
