It should be examined already because Ghanaians vote parties because these men go around giving people toilet paper, yam, and rice. The families and friends of these people have beautiful homes in England and have weddings in the South of France. Their ancestors enjoyed it, they will, and their descendants will. Meanwhile there are people in Ghana fighting between NPP and NDC; they’re all the same. Some people are earning GHS 800 a month, but their children are earning $5000 a month. I see how easy it was for Africa to be colonised, and how easy it is for the Indians and Lebanese to continuously treat low earning Ghanaians like second-class citizens.
This government and the security services including the armed forces, have been jointly fighting galamsey for more than 5 years but we're still where we are. This is nothing new. We need action, not mere words.

Those who threaten and harm others should be arrested. However, thinking proactively, the “income” that small scale miners make should be counteracted with another type of job and job training that provides equal or more income. These leaders should be working with businesses and institutions to help people build their own business and create more employable, skilled people. These leaders pain me smfh

The frightening thing is the plantain, yam and cassava you buy in Accra, Takoradi and Tema for your fufu meal have all been contaminated with the heavy metals used in these mining communities which will gradually kill the innocent Ghanaian.
