Great video, I think the key to the Pro-kits, is that they're installed with relatively fresh shocks/struts.....those that have had bad experiences are probably installing them on worn out or tired struts. They probably will wear them slightly faster, but not faster than riding on rough roads, or carrying loads.
@TheLemonFactor
@TheLemonFactor 2 года назад
Thank you! Good point. Mine are still going strong, with no apparent signs of premature wear of the OEM shocks. I’m very happy with the results 👍😁

I have a white 2.0 EXL and I’ve done the swat bar upgrade. I also put aftermarket wheels on it, but I’ve already decided when my tires wear out I’m going to upgrade to 19 inch wheels. After that I will decide on lowering springs or coil-overs. I also installed the OEM deck lid spoiler so I’m kind of converting my EXL into a sport edition.

first, excellent videos and information for the enthusiast. 2nd, I have another question about the Eibach Pro Kit. I know its roughly a 1" drop (the most mild of any on the market). I know 1" drop is minmal, I'm looking for just a slight variation of stock look and improved handling. I take my car to a regular mechanic or the dealer for all maintenance. I go for oil changes, tire rotation, etc.. I know I'll need an alignment after the drop. Should I be concerned about getting the car on a regular lift for said maintenance? What did you experience when you went for your alignment, did you have to go to a "special" shop?
@TheLemonFactor
@TheLemonFactor 3 года назад
First, thank you for the positive comment and support 😉. Second, it’s a good question - I have not taken the car to a dealership, but would be very surprised if they couldn’t handle it given it’s only a 1” drop. When I took the car to an alignment specialist they had no issues performing the alignment. You should be good, but it will all depend upon the setup of the place you’re taking your car to.

Interested in if you show up at Honda's service if the car is under warranty if they will void any suspension work due to the lowered springs? I had a Honda recall in the past on suspension, and Honda completely replaced the entire front suspension system due to their fault. It can't void your entire bumper to bumper warranty. They can't deny you a warranty claim for a faulty window motor due to you having lowering springs, but they can deny you coverage for something suspension related, claiming that the springs somehow caused the problem. Of course, each dealership is different when it comes to how they view and support (or not) aftermarket parts.

I have a 1.5 touring I'm thinking about putting the eibach lowering springs but the other kit not the pro the red ones.
@TheLemonFactor
@TheLemonFactor 3 года назад
The Sportlines will drop the car even further. With the increased drop you’ll be further out of alignment spec. As such, I would recommend getting the camber kit to correct it.

@@TheLemonFactor thank u for the advice I like the ride of the touring thats why I'm going springs not coilovers I saw your video on them where you said I could lose adaptive suspension and I'd have that light on.
@TheLemonFactor

The Sportlines also have a more aggressive spring rate than the ProKit which will change the dynamics even further away from the OEM shock/spring setup - I don’t know how the ride would be, but I would expect that you’ll be making the ADS work even harder, potentially leading to quicker wear of the shocks.

I just picked up a 20 Touring and was interested in these springs too. I have one question though, will doing this void any warranty with Honda? I'm glad that the drop is closer to 1" which is perfect for me. I eventually want to put some 20s on this so that fitment will be even better.
@TheLemonFactor

Each dealer will undoubtedly approach it differently, but technically speaking they have to prove that your mod was the cause of the problem, then they can deny you warranty coverage.

Yeah like he said. For example if your engine blew up they can’t say it’s because of your lowering springs. But say one of shocks went dead...your springs are probably not the reason but they will definitely use that against you.

Shocks and springs are considered normal wear and tear parts. They have nothing to do with the engine or transmission. Same thing as with a clutch.

To be honest I didn’t think the 0.8 inch drop for the pro-kit would be enough for me but the drop for the sport line is just a bit too low. I’m debating on maybe going H&R which is around 1.2 but after this video i might just go with the pro-kit.
@TheLemonFactor
@TheLemonFactor 3 года назад
That’s exactly what I was thinking. I was very close to buying the H&R springs. I’ve had good experience with Both Eibach and H&R, so it was a coin flip. I’d be interested in hearing what you end up with and what you think of them. 👍

I just installed 2" d2 springs on Honda Accord 2.0 touring, and after install and I drive it shakes very bad, at like 35mph? Any idea what it can be?
@TheLemonFactor
@TheLemonFactor 3 года назад
I don’t know. But I would check that everything is installed and torqued down correctly. Those springs are pretty aggressive for the stock shocks - I’d be concerned about prematurely wearing them out. You’ll also need a camber kit and a proper alignment as I’m sure your camber is way out of spec.
@ricardolopez-ey3wm
@ricardolopez-ey3wm 3 года назад
I see ok, so should I get the camber before the alignment?
@TheLemonFactor
@TheLemonFactor 3 года назад
Yes, as you’ll need the camber kit installed in order to perform the alignment and get your camber back to spec (or at least closer to it).

Ok cool thanks man! You sure did get a new subscriber! 2 more question should I just do the front alignment now so I can be able to drive it? The camber will only wear out my tires correct? Sorry it's My first time with fixing up a car.
@TheLemonFactor
@TheLemonFactor 3 года назад
I’d focus on fixing the shaking you’re experiencing first, as that’s concerning. Then install the camber kit, followed by an alignment.

I did not install a camber kit, although one is recommended. I did have an alignment done once the springs settled and where adjustments can be made everything came very close to recommended specs, so I opted to wait and see. I’m very good about rotating my tires and have yet to find any uneven wear - although my tires are long-life and I haven’t put a lot of miles on them 🤷‍♂️
