I wander.. where is this approach taking us. Approach of a prosperity and money culture in western Europe that makes us think about motorcycles like toys that need to be changed every year or 2. You purchase a new bike for £16K then you sell 2 years later for £10K. Obviously getting another one , probably even more expensive. What happened with having a bike for years and a friend and companion, making 60 or 80k miles. We are shown new bikes, bigger, stronger, more tech. etc etc every year. Does it mean my tiger 900 RP from 2021 is now old and much worse than the bikes from 2024? Sorry, just some nostalgic thinking :)
@nkwd007 Whereyit taking Us, you ask? Not to a good place, I’d wager. You pose some great questions. Consumerism is out of control. I think, given the state of western economies, lots of bike manufacturers are going to be in deep trouble within five years. I’m hoping not, but this silliness can not prevail.
@@nigelfisher3756 I think they may be predicting that it is coming to a stand still. I noticed recently more and more smaller capacity bikes are entering the market. Well, lets just keep enjoying the ride as long as possible!
@@cascarification For the pure joy of getting to constantly make the engine scream without going license losing speeds. Try it. It's fun. I'm not in a race with anyone on the road. I'm doing it for the pleasure
@@RocketMan_Moto That's so true in my case. I typically spend a year researching etc then within 3 months of getting the bike I'm bored of it 🤣 Saying that I've had the X-ADV 18 months and still loving it.
Congrats on hitting the 50,000 subs. I am trying to follow in the foot steps of yourself and other youtubers, and recently it the 500 subscriber mark. I am loving the you tube journey, and also love to watch your videos. Keep em coming.... 💪
Thanks, Dean. It's hard work and sometimes a bit thankless, but if you stick at it, you'll make a success of it. And remember, we all had 500 subs once :)
@@RocketMan_Moto yeah, for me it was 5 weeks ago.. hahahaha. But I am really enjoying this new hobby. (run out of KTM 890 smt content now, so thinking what to do next..)
Mostly waiting to see what Honda will do with the Transalp. If what you said about the TA in this video comes true, then that will be my next bike. My biggest gripe with the current model is the tubed tires. So fingers crossed that Honda actually reads the review comments and addressed some of the biggest complaints. (We can hope, right?)
@@arnoutvanwijk4916 it's funny with the transalp, the 3 big gripes seem to be cruise control, tubeless tires and on a lesser level, optional quick shifter. Somehow these things were not an issue for me and I care not about them. I thought about it and I think it's because I don't actually ride my bike that much recently, being winter, and so it's all a bit meh. Having said that luckily for me the only thing I'd want potentially is the quick shifter just to make it easier to change when standing up on rough tracks.
I have one and it would have been useful to have cruise control on a recent European tour but still not a big deal. I still haven’t had a puncture on this bike but had one recently on a tubeless bike so whatever really. I carried spare tubes just in case but only because I contracted some of the paranoia that’s on you tube and other social media. I’ve had four bikes in the last 6 years and only one that is tubeless. I’m hoping to get it tuned at some point to increase torque and get rid of the flat spot at 4500 rpm, otherwise it is a good bike. Oh, I have the quick shifter which is very good but tend to use the clutch most of the time as that suits the adventure riding style.
What a lot of research must have gone into making this video, thank you, you both looked fantastic on the Ducati Multistradas, that Algarve climate works wonders.😀
CB400f or the z400 would be awesome in the USA! Specially if you could tune them up to ~65-75 HP. They'd have to be 4cyls though. What I want from an Enfield is a single shock version of their 'classic' bikes. I've been waiting on the r9, even more so with how disappointing the raced out version of the XSR ended up being.
Smaller and affordable is where they need to be. Some of the bigger offerings are extortionate. Hence pcp to suck people in and jeep them on the endless replacement treadmill. Ride safe 👍
I really miss the days of the 250cc motorcycles, just about right as a daily and reasonably priced, no wonder the younger generation is no longer interested in motorcycling, they are getting too much expensive for what they are.
You missed a couple of Kawasaki's. New or heavily revised Z900 and Z1000 SX Ninja's are on the cards. The Z900 has not really changed since 2017 while all it's main competitor's have undergone major updates or introduced new models.
i’ve always been on the lookout as well until last week. 3 months ago i bought a nice shiny green BMW R1300gs …however made the mistake of test riding one with the new ASA ..absolutely brilliant ..however the trade in on my 3 month old 2k miles pristine GS was 16K ..a whopping 8k loss i kid you not.. i’ve never had a kicking like that before on any bike i’ve ever owned ..so looks like i’m keeping it a few years
Interesting comments about the Honda scooter. I have seen more than a few of your bikes come and go but the 350 scooter seems to have found a place in your garage and in your heart.
Yes, I’m seriously considering getting a new 2025 ADV or Forza 350 around Christmas. Not the coolest means of transport around, but so useful. We use ours 2 or 3 times every day.
The CB 400SF would be amazing (This was my dream bike, when I got my license in 2019), I sadly just do not see it in europe. I bought the 4rr last year and I can see the justification for kawasaki, as it is a supersport. The 400SF would probably be around 200 kg and too similar to the 650R. My next bike will be an electric one, so I have to save up, although the 400SF would make me weak :D
@@RocketMan_Moto I wish there were more than 11, especially since electric motors make the ride super fun. My mother and I split the bill on a z e-1, that our dealer was almost begging us to take off his hands. If you have not given an electric bike a try, I would highly recommend it. Nobody wants them, so a test ride is guaranteed. The ride, atleast in terms of the drivetrain, is as sophisticated as can be. Pickup and decelerating are both smooth on the chain and without any hiccup. Torque is also always an option :D Riding a single with a normal clutch or an inline four with a conventional clutch and no electronic aids, the difference is night and day. But unless Solid-State battery packs become a thing, they won't penetrate the market.
Since 2020 I had a KTM 790R and now a 890R. Between the two of them over 5 years and more than 50000 kms. They have both been as reliable as my 2014 Honda crf 250 but a lot more fun. Lots of crazy reliability stories out there. Maybe I am an anomaly I don't know. However I do Know I would have a hard time giving up the bike.
My first street bike was a 1982 Honda CB900F SS. So that CB400 to me is amazing. However, I am 6' 4", so I need them to supervise that into a 1200 with 150 hp!!
I'm a GS1200 rider and I've ridden the Vstrom 1050, for the price and quality it's got my juices flowing. BMW have gone too expensive and are super heavy when panniers are on. It's been a great bike will miss it when it goes
@RocketMan_Moto I hear that. You're a taller rider than I. I really love the style but was always left wanting the tech from the street triple. Now, it seems to have it all. 👍
As a proud owner of a '92 cb400sf I must admit that Im craving for a MY25 "restomod" revival with e-clutch, 4cylinders, dual rear shocks and a pricetag around 8k€ 🤤
@RocketMan_Moto I don't know specs. And I don't actually need rally version, 200mm suspension is enough . All I need is tubeless rims, which present on cheaper v strom.
The future is smaller capacity I suspect. I don't mind that much as I've had some very enjoyable smaller capacity bikes. I'll be cutting my work hours down soon, which means less expendable income, my next purchase will hopefully be a keeper. Who knows, maybe the Transalp I bought fairly recently will do the trick. Just because we can spring for a new bike every year or so doesn't mean we should I suppose.
I really like the cb400 , but I am 59 so when I was younger those are what motorcycles I was drawn to looked like . (Cb900f etc) I will admit I own two RD400’s that are still beautiful to my eyes . Do you think we will see them in the states ?
I actually loved the riding position of Triumph 's Thruxton 1200. What I hated about it, was its price. So I was hoping for a rebirth of Thruxton 900 - especially the first Thruxton 850 they released around 2 decades ago, was a hell of a great bike. But in vein....
Love all the 400-500 possible options coming. Yamaha has too be launching R9 this time right? Right? (Yamaha 2022 R7 and Triumph 2008 Tiger 1050 owner).
rally hopeing they are not just going to slap the MT09 enegine with some farings and call it the R9 like they did with the engine from the MT07 and call it an R7... hope its a actuall 4 cyclinder true sport bike....hope to get one but if that is the case im just going with GSXR 750 and it will probly be a better faster bike,,
Some nice bikes in that list. I'm also hoping to see an updated NC750X with twin discs, better TFT etc (all available on the Forza 750 already). You're spot on re the Triumph 1200 "improvements". Losing the lovely clocks is a huge mis step, as is making it ergonomically more challenging for 50 and 60 somethings like myself that are struggling with dodgy knees, hips or backs. Scooters or adventure bikes are my goto rides these days though I'd love a retro. I fear that any new Honda or Kawasaki 400/4 retro will also suffer from this malaise. A huge shame, as I'd love to buy such a bike. Whilst I'm on this theme, why can't Triumph offer the ergonomically comfortable T120 with tubeless tyres (and perhaps alloys as an option) and the more powerful SpeedTwin engine? That would sell very well imo.
Quick two cents on the Triumph 400s in the video. These are detuned versions of the same 400cc engine, putting out 30hp. Apparently tuned to be torquier but are more affordable than the full-fat versions making 40hp.
Such an informative and entertaining video as usual RM, thankyou. I certainly have limited interest in the hyper tech, hyper performance (and hyper $$) machines. Im interested in the revival of small capacity 4 cylinder bikes, the Honda CB could be a stunner. Also the Versys500x, the 300x has long been a popular do it all machine in Australia. Also the potential revisions to the Transalp...Honda have been listening!
Thanks, Paul. Yes, if Honda do decide to give us a Transalp II it will show an unusually quick reaction to customer feedback. It's a good bike, just needs a couple of relatively minor tweaks.
Your always make videos that I turn to first and this is no different. I find all manufacturers tell us about seat height but your ability, or not, to actually get on board in the first place is never brought up and as you get older the design of the seat is paramount. That's why i now only look at bikes with a bench seat and these days with a reduced capacity, so my favourites are the Honda and Kawasaki 400s.
Thanks, Ian. Much appreciated. I agree that seat shape is important. I can't get my right leg over the back of my Tiger without cheating and standing on the left foot peg :(
I know there will likely be some surprises, but if accurate to any degree I am not overly excited about anything covered. I thought Honda were supposed to be bringing out a large number of bikes over the next year.. or are they all electric? Triumph tiger 400 or 660? Any rumours of a refreshed XADV 750?
Bonjour Rocketman. Ride safe
I’m looking forward to seeing the new honda hornet 1000, but I’d like to see it with the e-clutch, is there any hope? Otherwise I’ll buy the mt-09 y-amt, I’m really intrigued by these new technologies
The first motorcycle that you called the Aprilia 457 roadster is in fact a Moto Guzzi. Triumph will for sure show a flagship naked Speed Triple with electronic suspensions, clip ons and carbon fibre wheels.
@@RocketMan_Moto it's not a error. The majority of sites thought it was the inevitable Tuono 457. But looking closer, that bike has all the design clues of a more classic Moto Guzzi. Makes sense. Moto Guzzi will rival Triumph and Royal Enfield.
The 698 Ducati scrambler is a good idea, like the sport bike too. The Benelli looks good sounds like a bargain. I love the Japanese manufacturer s 400s especially the Honda bet we won’t get that in the states no hornets either. I wonder what the hydrogen kawi sounds like? Thanks for the preview RM !
Depends sometimes on how you buy a new bike. Cash, part ex or PCP. Are you a Cafe’ culture, bar hopper or world adventure rider. Putting a 100,000 miles on one motorcycle is something a lot of people either only dream of or would think the trade in price make it worthless. I am at an old age and people I associate with at rallies, bike meets or butty bars are mostly as old as me. Disposable income is becoming a tax liability.
@@RocketMan_Moto Will it get a ride by wire? Also, does it really matter having a ride by wire? I am using a BMW G310r which has it but never used a standard cable operated accelerator..
The BMW R20 looked like a Triumph Rocket 3 with a smaller capacity (but certainly not small!) engine. Pricing should be interesting if it ever makes it to market. That Triumph Speed 400 with the predominantly yellow colourway would look great... if the forks were black!
@@RocketMan_Moto One would hope that Triumph knows this already given the hugely positive response to the Street Triple 765 RS in Cosmic Yellow with its black forks.
Shame there's nothing about a rumoured GB750 from Honda. That hornet engine in a retro styled bike would be truly awesome! Especially if they used the same colour schemes as the 1970's bikes.
I would love to see Yamaha do more 450-500 bikes as well as redo/upgrade the CP2 engine and lineup. I am very interested in the future of CFMoto with their triple 🤩and some VFR actions at Honda.
Great little sneak at what's up & coming RocketMan!!👌🏻👍🏻 And again its a shame Triumph never really listen to us who try to let them know what us customers want from a Motorcycle but clearly they don't going by the new Speed Twin & not just the Speed Twin the whole range & god Almighty how many times do we ask for a different range of colour schemes with coloured wheels & at least colour code the whole bike rather than just the tank & then different colours on the side panels & mudguards!!🙄 One day I guess they will possibly take notice!!🤔🤷🏻♂️
@RocketMan_Moto Hehe love that!!😆 Surely its not Rocket science for someone in different Motorcycle Manufacturers who i assume watch different Blogers including yourself about what we want from a Motorcycle if they did they would sell a dam site more!!🙄 Just look at the Speed Twin everyone who have been waiting patiently for a awesome update will now just go buy the current one & just change a few bits & bobs like you did on your one!! Utter madness if you ask me!!🤔🤷🏻♂️👍🏻
Completely agree. 99% of people on here (and many other fine channels/forums) are of one mind about this. Triumph could actually get all the feedback and ideas for free🤦♂️
@RocketMan_Moto Oh well we can just keep giving them great feedback hehe not sure they will see it as great feedback!!😆😬 But anyway we have aired our views just a shame that again for god knows how many years now ive been waiting patiently for the perfect Speed Twin & again I will just continue to wait & see if they finally take any of our advice hehe??😆🤔🤷🏻♂️
@@RocketMan_Moto I understand! Thank you for the kind and quick reply. In Germany the license is really expensive but we have the B196 license which allows car drivers to ride up to 125cc you know! I'd rather get a Ducati hahaha.
Triumph...sigh...sold my r1250r because I wanted a more retro-look (stupid me) and the next iteration of the Speedtwin 1200 was high on my list, expecting the upgrades that make it an 'RS'...and then they decide to completely F* it up. I mean, the appeal of the Speedtwin to me was the retro look (not the lcd dash for gods sake), and the riding position (yeah, make it a thruxton triumph, good move!)... Guess I'll need to check the r1300r now.
The BMW RT is looking more-n-more sci-fi/space age ... could be cool. Did I miss a photo of a new RS? You mention it but I missed the visual. What's Triumph thinking ... the new Speed Twin misses the mark, IMO, and 17,000 Euros (which something like $19K US)?? There isn't enough bike/tech there to justify such a high price ... are they think that riders' nostalgia will drive that much interest? All I can say is I'm glad the previous version is around. Speaking Thruxtons ... I visited a local dealer yesterday - two of the three Thruxtons were sold, so there is some interest, just not enough I guess. I'm a fan (if I had the $$ I'd be an owner.)
I was rather hoping that Triumph would do a more off-road Tiger 660 XC, but maybe the success of the 400cc bikes has changed their direction? Maybe a Tiger 400 XC may be on the cards in the future?
@RocketMan_Moto - yes, it's very frustrating, but given the positive reception that the CF Moto 450 MT has received, maybe Triumph have diverted resources to a 400XC.

Excellent vid! I don't, however, feel that your forbearance with Triumph is justified, re the 1200. They've used bargain basement OEMs on the standard bike, replacing the Brembos and the analogue dash, while increasing the price by £500! Their marketing dept must be the most cynical of the lot. Happy riding!
The Ducati 698 Super Sport, been asking for Ducati to bring back the SuperMono for ages. I hope this is it. Should have never sold my FBF (Fast By Ferracci) prepped F1 750.
@@RocketMan_Moto. They were the new colours so I thought so. Since posting I’ve looked a few other videos that show the single clock. Maybe I’m mistaken but I particularly looked or so I thought 🤔
Honda recently has registered patents of a new CBR 400 Four. 400cc 4 cylinder bike so we might see this bike on EICMA we hope. I'm excited for the new KTM 390 Enduro I think it's gonna be a great bike for beginners riders like me. Other good news is KTM is setting up s new factory here in Brazil by 2025 so we might see lots of their new bikes being built over here and being distributed all over Latin America.
It's going to be built in the franchise zone of Manaus, Amazonas. Leaked documents from the state government of Amazonas shows that KTM it's gonna invest R$97 million reais, around €16 million.
Yes, Triumph has an assembly factory in Manaus. Your wife is from Recife that's cool mate! There's a motorcycle brand from Pernambuco that brings Chinese bikes to Brazil, they're called Shineray
I'm in Australia so hopefully the new 800MT-X would be a bit cheaper than 11k Euro. I'm looking at getting into ADV riding and been looking at many different options. I could get a 10+ yo second hand 700GS or a Tiger 800 for the price of an ex demo CFMOTO 700MT. Alternatively, wait till next year when I'll have a bit more money and decide between the new 800MT-X vs a Tiger 900. 😊
