The Einscan HX is one of our favorite scanners here at Vision Miner and today, Rob is going to show you how to utilize the included markers to create incredibly accurate and fast scans using this Porsche valve cover.
The Einscan HX combines blue led and lasers, enabling a wider array of "scannable" objects, most notably the scanner has little to no issues when scanning dark or highly reflective objects which are notoriously difficult for pattern based 3D scanners like the Pro HD. The HX is highly accurate as well boasting a minimum point distance 0.05 mm and accuracy up to 0.04 mm under Laser Scan. Scanning is quick and efficient with up to 1,200,000 points/s, and multiple blue laser lines under Laser Scan Mode making scanning of most objects take only minutes for reverse engineering, CAD/CAM, 3D printing, etc. The design is compact and ergonomic, making it easily transportable with the included hard shell protection case. On top of all this the HX comes with a built-in color camera which means it supports full color texture capturing and tracking by texture.
At Vision Miner, we specialize in Functional 3D printing, especially high-performance plastics like PEEK, ULTEM, PPSU, PPS, CFPA, and more. We also have extensive experience with 3D scanners, and a whole array of solutions available for purchase. If you're interested in using functional 3D printing and materials in your business, feel free to reach out, and we can help you make the right choice for your application.

Just a note for everyone who might not be aware(I wasn't). According to the spec the detail level only changes the number of points and how close they are together. It has NO impact on how accurate those individuals points are. So for something like this with large flat surfaces the "lower" detail will result in no loss of accuracy of the part because there are not features for it to capture between those points. It might help for the letters or that texturing on the bottom or really small features like that. Nice video. Definitely picked up some tricks in the software I didn't know. Looking forward to more.

100% correct! The resolution is how many points, but the points are always the same accuracy. If you don't NEED 0.05mm detail, don't use it! Usually 1mm is even good enough for most situations, and scans way faster.

That scan looks great, Can't wait for part two to see how the part scans in the highest resolution! Curious how much more time consuming it is to scan at 0.05mm resolution. Seems to me that if you have the pc horsepower it would be worth it to get the highest resolution scan possible even if it takes a little more time.

I'm considering an EinScan HX for very high-detail sculptures about 12-24" tall. If you have the time/inclination, would you please demo the scanner in 0.05mm/max resolution mode? Thank you!

Could you do an ultra precise scan? Do you have any other crazy scanners/turn table/mounts to show us "ultra" high definition scanning? TIA!

Please do a scan with this at max detail, make it perfect, and then do all of the processes in this video and then export to a solid body modeling software like fusion or solidworks and show what it is like in there. Thanks!

Very cool video! I would guess that if one wanted to use the scanner as an inspection tool, it would be necessary to scan in the highest accuracy mode. Is that a correct assumption?

There are no "accuracy" modes -- there are "resolution" modes, which change the detail -- but the accuracy is always the same. So, for inspection, you're just increasing the number of points you're inspecting, and decreasing the distance in between them :)

Is the HX powered by the laptop, or by 110/220V?

In your opinion, would it be possible to buy this scanner and use it with VX Model, via export- import method?

Hello, a very nice video. I want to scan human outer ear (pinna) with detailed information. Do you think Einscan HX is worth a try? I know that Einscan H is suitable for body measurements. But I was interested in knowing capabilities of Einscan HX in scanning smaller objects (human ear) with laser technology. I would also like to know scanning field of HX. Please can you help me out here. Thanks.

Yep! It's on a few of the other videos -- Core i7 9700k 3.6ghz, 64GB ram, GeForce RTX 2070 GPU

We're running ours on a laptop with i7-10750H, 32 GB of ram, RTX 2070 (115watt). 16 gig of ram had major issues with bigger scans, and it looks like that might be a possibility of being an issue with 32gb but haven't run into that yet.

After I hit pause I can't find the option to delete stuff. I don't see that option until after I align scans. What's going on? It's making it such a pain.
@VisionMiner

Hold shift when you pause the scan, and it will enable the tool for selecting points -- the tools are at the bottom of the screen when you pause it :)

0.8mm difference on 20mm hole? you can do this better with flat printer scanner (or any other scanner) and up tu scale tracing... and time sacrificed to put every hole one by one... jeeez man, with piece of paper and pencil tracing you would did this faster and with more accuracy
