You sir are a metal wizard! I am so glad that I found your channel through Peter. Don't be hard on yourself. Your work is amazing. Thank you for the videos. You do a wonderful job explaining the process that you go through, to do the repairs. I really appreciate the time you take to show the work and process. I really learned a lot in this video. Bravo!! 👏 and thanks again

Your doing an awesome job mate and its good to hear someone refering to plug welds and spot welds as two different typs of welds, which they are. Good work.

The way that wire wheel works makes me want to go down to the shed and get mine out and do some work on the old ford Only one problem is it’s 22 in the house and the beer is cold here and the shed is still close to 40 and my beer would be hot before I get to drink it So I will stay here and watch you work your magic graham 👍👍👍👍😂😂

Nice work indeed. Never ceases to amaze me how intricate some of these panel junctions can be, and how much effort you go to to repair them. I could never in a million years do any of this, but I could watch someone like you do for ages. Keep up he good work.👍

That looks great, my gtr torana had lots of rust and it’s taken me 6 years so far to get to this stage, thanks to your channel and my other fave “ fitzees fabrications “, I’d probably be overwhelmed if not for vids from you guys, plz keep it up as I have my torana hatch and pv to do,

Im starting to realise how good my last EH was, surface rust all over it but real rust only in the RH guard which was a replacement the first one rotted while the car was less than 12 months old, i got the car from the original owner

Enjoying your videos matey. Just found your stuff again. Got some stuff i would like to see or direct me to a video where you already covered it. 1 The brand and type of copper spray you're using and the protection you are expecting from it properties of it? 2. how you treat areas that are inaccessible / never going to see the light of day again? as after they are done there is still welded area left uncovered. 3. interested also in your paint prep from bare metal. I don't do much bodywork myself but have in the past(purely amateur) 4. what do you put on a panel that you're not going to get back to for a while and might be exposed to weather. most of my repairs are done outside and i try to protect those areas usually with something like galmet paint.
@xacoupeguy

its a u-pol brand copper spray. and cavity wax like a mofo after. put anything you have available if your not going near it for a while epoxy primer or enamel paint anything is better than bare steel

Cool cool y you still have the sub frame still bolted to the car is weird but anyway my father was a top tradesmen panel beater spray painter in the day he would get HQ inner guards as they fit amazingly near perfect inside the eh guard lips he would slice them long ways front to back rejoin them under the eh guards and weld them together basically made his eh the same as a HR with inner spash tray guards no more shit getting up in those spots

Another great episode these cars are lucky to have you bringing them back the way they should be (most likely better than original)👍 Actually I paid big bucks for a 25mm section of chassis from an original XY GTHO Phase 10, you should right to fabricate the rest right🤔 IM KIDDING OF COURSE😂 YOU ARE AMAZING KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK, good luck with the subscribers👍

Hey Graham looking good. Is the brass just to maintain the factory look or could you just weld it up?

Another great video , still learning lots , question ..I see your using Protec Etch in a rattle can , Is that just a temp covering or can you paint straight over that with primer and topcoat ? I am trying to do a good job in my engine bay but not sure how much I can do without a compressor and spray gun.
@xacoupeguy
@xacoupeguy 2 года назад
Yeah its just a temporary cover! It's easy to coat something easy to remove and stops things from rusting as I work my way around
@AydanD69
@AydanD69 2 года назад
What would u do if there is surface rust in places like the inside of the quarter that u can’t get tohow would u remove the rust so u can paint it
@xacoupeguy
@xacoupeguy 2 года назад
thats why im fond of getting cars acid dipped it removes all that stuff about the best you can do is treat everything you can see and hope that cavity wax gets the rest then stop thinking about it and enjoy the car

Also I am surprised they used brass and not lead they used a lot of lead for that sort of thing and hiding there joins
@xacoupeguy
@xacoupeguy 2 года назад
brass is quite a strong joining material. lead is basically old school bog if that makes sense
@AydanD69
@AydanD69 2 года назад
@@xacoupeguy Ye makes sence they used it a lot to hide joins and if there were dints in the panel on the line before they painted it Would hate to know how much lead they went though
