When your hero gives free weekly lessons... Sheesh! Nice to have something pure and positive in 2020. Thank you Eric! 🎸🦸‍♂️🙏 In case anyone is interested, I made a lesson for his famous live from Austin version of Cliffs and it’s the only one of its kind on RU-vid. A humble tribute that I hope other guitarists can enjoy.

Eric thank you for these lessons. I've been focusing on knowing the notes on the whole fretboard as well as practicing my minor/major pentatonics and major/natural minor scales in all keys across the fretboard. My ears and eyes are opening up to all sorts of connections. Thanks again for these insights. God Bless

In flamenco a take on this is you anchor a chord or part of it and move the bass around, etc. I dig this lesson 😎😊

It's so hard to translate sometimes. I gave up on trying to sound like anyone or anything years ago, and was never good at it anyhow. I mix and match all the time like this but so very differently. Non the less, EJ influence always with me...

Man, you are the mostest awesomeness guitar mastery. And i have been fortunate enough to see ya live a few times. But, i hate to be a negative nancy here, but. It kills me that the sound on these videos. Seems. Some what muted. ??? Like the mic is at a distance or something ?? Almost bass sounding. Please set on the other side and listen through a phone, because, really, you are such a talented and amazing musician. I LOVE watching your videos, and it's so awesome you are willing to teach. I mean, come on man. What would lessons cost. Ha $$$$$$$. Your awesome man. Please check the output sound to phone. Love ya, rock on

Yeah Idk man. I love the sound it makes. But I aint cutting it... Ima end up just stop playing the guitar.. stick to accordion cuz im always playing scales and modes n stuff... but my problem as a "musician" i have no voice. No story. No culture. No color

You can be influenced by music and its it's fine but thers usually something rooted in it all. Unless you take everything and make "world music",. Haha

Cesar Sandoval Cesar, Cesar, Cesar, don’t be so hard on yourself. Put on a album, CD, DVD, and play along to it, make it something simple. This will build up your confidence and your skills on playing. This gives you a break from playing scales, modes, etc. I once taught a student and he could only progress by learning to play along with songs, then and then only could I sneak in scales, chords, etc. The student ended up playing professionally and to this very day, he can not learn from studying just scales, modes, his learning has to come from playing along with a song. He can’t stand looking at any written material, he gets extremely frustrated and wants to quit, all of his learning comes by ear and hands on teaching. Different strokes for different folks, the end result is what matters most. Good luck.

@@VonBluesman its my mind man. I get frustrated easily and im slow so it doesn't stick as fast as others. My brain isn't as creative for music as I think it is... but thanks for thr encouragement

Cesar Sandoval You stay in touch and I will try and help you out. Do you know the CAGED System ? Learning music has a lot to do with repetition, but you have got to have the correct path to follow other wise you are spinning your wheels and wasting your time. Hang in there, find a song you love and I will try and help you learn it if you want. Good luck.
