I've always liked how the Mirage III looks. If anything conveys interceptor, it's this jet. It's always a treat to listen to the perspective of a pilot or officer from another country. They have some terrific stories and provide real insight into their training and even culture. Thank you, Tahir Alam, for giving us your time and telling us some fascinating stories, and thank you, AI, for bringing him on. Time wonderfully spent.

Thank You! I could listen to this Fighter Pilot all day long. His descriptions are so clear and his words are always very well chosen. I find this kind of a story to be extremely rare. An inside look into air forces that the western press had no knowledge of. Very exciting to hear about the collaboration between the PAF, the Egyptian Air Force/ ‎القوات الجوية المصرية, Libyan Air Force ‎القوات الجوية الليبية, etc. I'm curious as to whether this early accident with a Mirage affected or curtailed this non-Soviet type ACM training? This was Libya's first Mirage write-off, 15th May, 1973. Does anyone know if Martin Baker gave ties back then?

Aren’t these Mirage Vs rather than Mirage IIIs ? If my memory serves me well the largest order he is referring to were Mirage 5s not 3s.
