I dunno what happened to John Tumpane this year. He went from 94.4% accuracy to like 93%.....one of the worst. He used to be one of the most accurate behind the plate......
Not in real time, it's at the ump's total discretion. They can be disciplined after a game, but they have a VERY strong union that makes it very difficult to discipline them in any meaningful way.
MLB has got to get rid of human umpires. They are completely obsolete now. We have had accurate electronic ball tracking for YEARS and yet the MLB still bows down to these umpires despite some of their bad calls directly impacting the outcome of a game.
I wonder how many of these situations involved Angel Hernandez? I'm sure he was involved in the first clip. He was after all the worst umpire in the history of the universe.
Ump takes his mask off in the first clip, not hernandez. Also, angel has a very different strike 3 motion, raising his hand into a fist, then down, and up again. Not sure if these clips are after he retired
Such a disrespect für the referees... is worst then in soccer. There may be some bad referees, but this allowed not such behavior from players or training staff.
Use the right grammar when you’re talking about Americas pastime, and don’t ever compare it to a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off running around a field crying, and begging a “referee” to hold up a sheet of paper.
I understand your point of view being from Europe. But they’re different games completely. If you dm me I’d love to take some time to explain the differences. Needless to say it’s going to be a long conversation. Baseball is very different compared to other sports when it comes to the umpire/ player, coach relationship.
