I've been thinking about that for quite some time. A Museum will be a fantastic addition to this city. Much like the ones they have in London, New York, Washington D.C and other major cities around the world. Maybe even theatre as well, while we're on the theme of culture and arts. I'm sure a library will also be a welcomed and useful facility.

But you'll still have massive slums and epileptic power and water supply.Lagos will still be very far from paradise since 80% of residents are very poor slum dwellers

+hgsnk333 Once again not looking at the big picture. If it does what it's planned for it will greatly benefit all of Nigeria. There will be lots of banks and finance companies there that would provide funding for lots and lots of business and industry all over Nigeria. Oil Companies would base their offices there and likely be motivated to have more operations in Nigeria after that. All of this spells more jobs for Nigeria and more revenue for the Nigerian government and people.

wael breiche If you've got the means, then the quality of life is relatively comfortable. Otherwise, it can be a somewhat stressful environment to live in. I'd recommend staying in a serviced apartment, if you can help it (this goes back to my mention of having the means, because they aren't cheap. Hopefully your firm will already have this sorted out for you) because they'd provide round the clock electricity, water and security, so you don't have to worry about organising those yourself as many Nigerians have to. Attractions: ample number of bars and clubs, country club, shopping centres, cinemas, a wide variety of international and local cuisines, restaurants and fast-food, beach resorts, golfing resort etc and essentially most of the things you would expect in a modernised or modernising city. Push factors: traffic congestion during rush hours etc; crime (as you might find in every large city really. However, I have lived in Nigeria 16 years and haven't had a major or direct incident/experience with crime, knock on wood)/insecurity; high prices in certain bars, clubs, restaurants etc; a seeming lack of order sometimes, but I think this is improving; frequent power cuts and a need for a generator (however if you lived in a serviced apartment or certain gated communities, then this wouldn't be an issue for you). It isn't always convenient to walk to places sometimes, due to poor sidewalk provision in some places, or just security concerns for some people (particularly when it's not busy - early mornings or late evenings). At the end of the day, I'm just speaking to my observations, someone may see things a little differently than I have. And overall Lagos really can be an great and enjoyable place to live and work, despite it's challenges and growing pains. It certainly will be an eye-opening an memorable experience, due to her distinctive energy, culture and way or should I say rhythm of life. It's like nothing you would have ever experienced, in a positive sense. Feel free to throw any further questions that you may have, at me. Good luck!

It's easier, quicker and cheaper to simply build from scratch than to try to rebuild Lagos inland. Plus that doesn't solve the problem of sea erosion. Plus this will create capacity which can eventually be tied to further projects down the line.

Chuks Justin it's actually moving fast, because it's being funded majorly by private organization and not the corrupt government....I went to see for myself, a friend of mine has a dad who works as an architect​ for the project
