WHAT GOLDEN SOUND FROM A GOLDEN YOUNG LADY! Her voice is so beautiful it almost hurts my ears, lol! The human ear was not meant to hear such gorgeous sound. Angels really CAN sing. Elina Garanca is simply the best!

I can never be tired of listening to her sing; such a delight!

I wish this could last 20 minutes, best cabaletta Bellini ever wrote, too bad it’s cut here. Elina recorded it complete for her bel canto album. As for Ms. Garança her sound is exquisitely gorgeous, as usual. Only once in 100 years we’re lucky enough to get a voice like hers.

Beautiful.... She should never have left Bel Canto rep, not even for a second... it's extremely beautiful and perfect for her voice, and I must say (just my personal opinion though) that this low G is the proof that her voice is not a mezzo-soprano voice. I always thought hearing this amazing voice that it is a lyric soprano because of the extreeeem easiness in the very high register (no mezzo has such an easy high C...). She has the perrrrrrrfect voice for all big Bel canto roles, I wish she would have sang much more of that, like Elisabetta in Maria Stuarda, Sara in Roberto Devereux even Norma (in a lower key with period instruments maybe)and certainly more Mozart (like Elvira in Giovanni).

@serenaluce Even at the premiere Romeo was sung by a woman. Also, there simply aren't enough countertenors, and there never will be. And if a role was written specifically for soprano voice, it can't be sung by a mezzo.
