How very appropriate, Panis Anglicus, " Bread of angels" or " Angelic bread" sung by an angel. All women are beautiful, but Elina Garanca tops it all by her singing and her grace
Before I discovered Elisabeth Schwarzkopf's version I would have agreed. Elina is still outstanding today. However Schwarzkopf is at least as good as this recording! :D (Therefore no new level!)
Jerry Schleifer I see it the other way round: Pavarotti is good but nowhere near Elina's version! :P But even before Pavarotti there was an excellent version by Elisabeth Schwarzkopf! Personally I like Elina's voice slightly better! :D I even don't see Pavarotti as THE TENOR! :P For me the best tenor is: Fritz Wunderlich! :D
I'm singing this for my Higher/Advanced Higher music exam at the beginning of next year and all I can think when I listen to this is that there is no way I'm going to be able to do this justice. Such a beautiful rich sound.
Sublime. When I was very young we were visiting relatives in a rural community. The local church was to be overflowing at Christmas and my Father, a superb tenor, asked the pastor if the congregation might like him to sing something for the services. The answer was a foregone conclusion. Dad sang "Panis Angelicus". I'm sure none of them...farmers, fishermen, etc... had heard anything like it. Some had tears in their eyes. Others gasped. Now, decades later, we're told that people there still talk about that Christmas.
On this the"Feast of Corpus Christi" Elina Garanca expresses with range and fervour the"Mystery" of the "Transubstantiation" It would fufill my dreams when vocalists would sing the true second verse "Te Trina Unitas etc
Garanca sings this piece with great conviction, power and intent which I suppose could be described as masculine traits but, to look at, this is a woman in the full bloom of her femininity and sexy as hell.
I want to finish my last life while listening to her soprano under cherry blossoms in full bloom . 🍎 From effulgent Tokyo in profound Japan Which national are you watching this video ?
@@inesdeerausquin5658 Thank-you Be on the alert for Coronavirus infection Take care of yourself Good luck ! Someday please visit Tokyo of the art Megalopolis .
😘..Ante la belleza de la música y la belleza del canto de Elina Garanca, ..Simplemente enmudezco..¡ Es Sublime ! ..Es un regalo de DIOS ....Gracias REXETERNA por tan hermoso video...👍
In a world that has become so violently ugly, there is still grace and beauty, there is still the honesty of music and the sincerity of truth. There is Elina Garanca!
Charles O'Connor, Sir, since you are capable of finding amongst your vocabulary and combine such words to express yourself what you feel inside you, then I am certain that you can fully understand all that Elina Garncia projects and radiates and many other things of beauty. Others are not capable of doing that and so they miss the beauty around them, both in words uttered by others and the details of scenarios surrounding them, I do pity these people. It is said that the limits of one's language means the limits of one's mind and one's world.
C'est une redécouverte que d'entendre cet aria de la Messe à trois voix chantée avec cette voix de mezzo incomparable, qui a la texture du miel. Sensationnel, bravo Elina !
I'm moved to tears, such a beautiful interpretation. Her voice is so emotional but controlled. Absolutely sublime. I'm singing this in Belgium in ghent cathedral and in the church of the holy blood in Bruges in September , hopefully I will do it justice.
great to hear finally--a singer who hits the opening note without scooping, but exactly on pitch. she does that with all her entrances, so refreshing and accurate
Out of this world. What a voice, what a beautiful woman and what a performance from a mezzo-soprano of the highest calibre. Grateful thanks for the upload.
Sublime interprétation de cette pièce merveilleuse de César Franck. Quelle voix superbe et quelle beauté. C'est un moment angélique que nous offre cette soprano d'exception. Merci pour ce moment de bonheur.
This is splendid ! I had never heard this sung by a mezzo before. Mrs. Garanca is of course the perfect candidate to give me this initiation. What an unbelievable voice, and what musicality and emotion in her rendition. Too beautiful to be real !
What a gloriously pure voice I defy anyone with a soul to be unmoved by this woman's vocal skill. She had my tears flowing as soon as she opened her mouth
Beautiful, Elina. Thank you. This great, transcendent music can have the broad appeal of high quality pop music without sacrificing integrity. It lifts us to a higher appreciation of what humanity can achieve when great talent is nurtured and allowed to flourish.
I like certain things about her style, but all in all it sounds like she's singing from her throat just a bit. It's not terrible, so I didn't dislike it, but it's not fantastic. Perhaps others took more issue with this than I did.
