To hike Cerro Torre you have to be a very experienced mountaineer! I would not recommend anybody to consider hiking that if you have not done extreme climbing in high altitude before!

Yes it is. This is for the more advanced mountaineer.

Jakob, Thank you for drawing attention to the absurdity of “hiking” up Cerro Torre, a peak that wasn’t climbed until 1974 by expert Italian mountaineers. Even the first pitch of the Compressor Route is hard, and that’s all that many experienced climbers end up doing, I enjoyed the other 9 recommendations since they are sane, but this one shouldn’t be in this video. To this day, Cerro Torre is considered one of the most dangerous and technically difficult mountains that also experiences some of the worst and most unpredictable weather in the world. I mean just look at it! I say this as someone who has climbed for over 45 years.

@@beforeyougotravel what % of your viewers do you honestly think would be able to relate to the idea of just climbing cerro torre lmao

You can hike to the Torre Lagoon at the foot of the mountain and the glacier. You can even continue to the Maestri viewpoint. With no equipment other than water and an occasional meal. It is about 8 hours of trekking. But you definitely can't reach the peak of Cerro Torre without thorough planning and months of high mountain climbing training.

Wish them city slickers didn't make me throw my trekking poles away. No I need to pull money out of my ass for a set of them again.

*Reminder: The denomination "patagonia" is absolutely Chilean; there is no "Argentine Patagonia"; This was a contemporary appropriation (theft) of the Argentines for purely tourist purposes* *"Patagonia" derives from the expression "patagones" with which the Portuguese navigator, Hernando de Magallanes (1480-1521) identified the natives who inhabited the famous Strait of Magellan; and this strait is Chilean and has always been Chilean* Furthermore, geographically and climatically speaking, Chilean Patagonia is "green", humid and cold; On the other hand, the falsely called "Argentine Patagonia" is desert - arid (see satellite map) without prejudice to the territorial thefts that the Argentine Republic has carried out in the past on sectors of Chilean Patagonian territory, and the attempted unilateral aggression and war by Argentina in the so-called "Beagle Conflict" (1978) where the Argentines attempted to steal by armed means all of Chile's strategic and iconic territories that make up not only the end of America, but also the end of the world. Fortunately evil never triumph.

Such a useless fact. Pretty much the entire world is 'stolen' by everyone.

@@beforeyougotravelBasically this. With that logic they should still be angry with the Spanish for the conquistas and they would be as well against the Moors. Holding your spite is USELESS. And makes you look pathetic.
