I remember seeing somewhere singing in church. There were a church full of people singing. When El walked in and conducted from the piano, their powerful heartfelt energy was in sync. I see that type of interaction with jazz musicians, and salsa too. Their talents interplay and that’s where the really powerful music is made. I mean yes, a single composer makes beautiful music from his or her creative heart. But even in classical music the arrangement is reborn in the conductor. Each one as unique as a fingerprint. So I have been listening to El Debarge, Sheila E, and classic salsa 💃. I wonder what that collage would sound like. Especially since salsa is about live and Debarge is an expert balladeer, and Sheila last tribute to Tito Puenta makes her a beautiful black queen of Timbales. What kind of love songs would be if they just went in a room and made up some 🎶 Sorry I ramble. Let me do that some more 😊 🙃 So it’s the energy in the family that’s amazing and I think that’s why people want to hear Mama D song with all of her children and grandchildren. She is at center to it all.
@Linda yes. Unconditional love 💕 is truly rare and not always both ways. It should always be given. The basis of forgiveness. It is not and some children, young and adult, must be the bigger spirit. They must take care to everyone as best as they can. Mama D has unconditional love for her children as much as she has Jesus. Thanks for sharing her with the world. Momma De looks beautiful! I love her garment and the colors. Speaking about on my knees, there is a wonderful interview with Little Richard towards the end of his life that really ministered to me. The thing he said he missed most about his condition and not being mobile was that he could no longer get on his knees and pray. I received that. We should not take for granted what a gift it is to be able to get on our knees and pray. What a blessing. Thanks for the reminder Momma Dee.

I just happened across this video, and I'm so glad I did. I used to listen to El Debarge back in the day. I never knew his mother sang so beautifully. I can see now where the talent came from. The songs she sang were so encouraging to me. These are songs I grew up singing in church. Missing my own Mom who loved the Lord and went home to be with Him on Mother's Day, 2016. Wow. Her voice is so soothing. Growing up in Detroit, the DeBarge music was played ALL the time and they had a lot of hits. Music in Detroit in the 70s and 80s was an experience that most would never understand. Beautiful video!

😊 Sweet.. I can hear Bunny's voice when their mom sings; now we see where she got it from. This families music has encouraged me when I felt my lowest. It makes since that they were raised in church because alot of their songs sound like gospel music to me. The lyrics they wrote helped heal my broken heart. Songs like "All This Love" and "Time Will Reveal" and "Stay With Me" helped me understand God's love for me would never fail. I would listen to the lyrics and imagine it was the Lord's message to me.
