jimmy the prices . a v-rod is $ 15,299 and the price of a v-max $19,890 (Matte Black) Available from November 2011/CA model December 2011,,, your bike is $4,591 more them a faster made in the usa bike....

@MrJimmy1437 well the metrics ARE cheap to buy second hand. that is a good thing. i prefer my vtwins though. dont have to split an engine case to work on transmission. i do like my american bikes. but have owned a few metrics as well as two italians.

@wmanzare Let's set the record straight! I worked for four HD dealerships over a period of 25 years. We didn't rip people off.Most of these shops would not allow me to work on choppers.

@MrJimmy1437 very true . i have a vmx err a vmax myself bought at an insurance salvage. dealership was involved in a fire. it was bobbed. that bike is EVIL. it scares em more than the supercharged HD i had built. or the busas ive worked on. i did like my ducati paso i had. a 750. had the desmodromic valve system there was in essence no redline.

@wmanzare On the cannonball run erick Dunk road a 1915 Harley k from i believe north carolina to Cal He did a great job. I used to repair his Harley dresser for him before he opened his own Harley-davidson agency. He made it to Cal, faster on a 1915 HD than a bunch of clowns on new Harleys from Cal to new york state.

...had 'em all inc a V-max. Now I just have a modified HD Sportster, slow and rough around the edges but I like it. The guy is right about the USA rallies, isn't Sturgis just 1,000's of people wandering up and down the street gawping at 1,000's of bikes all just about the same as their own?

@yamahonkawazuki All bikes are fun, even a 100cc hodaka. What i object to is not the machine itself but the motive behind buying certain machines. ie. Making a spectacle of one's self, showboating, ostentatious! A friend bought a Shelby Mustang 40,000. I went with him on first ride. Two teenagers saw us. Their heads snapped around, next street same thing. He was in heaven. Every thing he buys has to be Red and Chrome. That's sick

Depends where you are talking about. The farther south you go there is less crime/drug lords, but you still have to ride through the northern areas to get there. Living in California all my life Mexico was always an option for rides, in the last 20 years its just not worth it. There are a lot of beautiful coastal roads to ride down there, sadly the local drama of your government and law enforcement only adds to the "bullshit" of your country. I don't hate your country, I just don't trust your people.

@yamahonkawazuki The v-twin metrics would not be here if the USA had not been hit with a stupidty bomb 25 years ago. Japan had no choice because their great fours, that were fast, handled, were inexpensive, sat on the showroom floor while a bunch of damned fools came in and demanded old Harley's or look-alikes. I worked in dealerships and saw it happen. I couldn't believe it then and i can't know!

@yamahonkawazuki We would have rows of these wonderful modern bikes and some asshole would come in and when i tried to point out the features., he would say no, no. He had heard that i had a twenty year old, rattling, oil leaking, Pan head. When i inquired why on earth he would want that piece of crap, he didn't have an answer and i'm still looking for an answer?

@wmanzare I'm going to get a new scooter next month. It's called a Kawasaki x-14 R. It is the fastest bike in the world. 1441 cc 220 hp. Enough to pull three Harley's down the road backwards. I will use it to humiliate as many Harley riders as can over the next few years. If i can deflate at least one Harley riders ego per day, i've had a good day

your telling me the tank leak ,,lol and no one knew , you just ran the bike no smoke. all of a sudden leak on the motor when it got hot ..i call BS on that it would have smoke alot before a fire wow you know you don't run a harley motor to adjusted the valves they have hydraulic lifters just the old sportsters . or if there is a bigger cam in it .

@wmanzare I have kicked a dozen v-rods asses around here. The reason, is because all the bikes were stock and so is mine. Those fucking Harley pro drag bikes are pure racing machines. the engine in one they featured in cycle world had an engine that was pure cast billet and under the rules was allowed 1000cc more than the competion. Harley has owned the rules committee since 1924. Harleys suck
