You've mentioned that miserable van ride several times and, when I was doing some research on traveling from Puerto Princessa to El Nido, it was often mentioned. But, I recall that there are buses that are said to be far more comfortable than the vans. Have you not found any information on buses?

Nice place. But: did you see a sewage treatment plant anywhere? Already know the answer is no. So, sewage flows into the bay. If you like swimming in fecal matter that's the place to be.Be careful of the ice: bottled drinking water is usually safe. Usually. Ice is not since it's made from water piped to the ice machine.Is that water safe? Coin toss.
They filmed apocalypse now there. They had a really hard time with filming the helicopter scene because they were flying with the filipino army air force. They were not the best at their job. 😂
