So as far as this guy is concerned, you might as well paint a bullseye on your back with a sign that says: TOURIST. As a tourist you don't go to where the violence is, you don't have to, the violence will find you. Criminals target tourists and if you so much as give a hint of resistance your brains get blowned right there and then. Yes, the country is beautiful but as with all third world countries, take precautions, DO NOT believe everything you hear and only half of what you see. Remember where the most violent criminals, the "maras" come from, yes, they come from El Salvador. Other than that, happy touring!
@@rafaelramirez7089 you comment is so ignorant and ridiculous, have you ever been to El Salvador? They don´t target tourists in El Salvador... Tourists and locals alike have to use common sense as if you are visiting any other part of the world.
@@ernst91 The correct way in which people from El Salvador refer to themselves and their people is one of two ways, “Salvadorean” or “Salvadorian.” Never “Salvadoran.” And just so you know, a person from El Salvador is a salvadorean according to the Cambridge Dictionary.
I completely agree! We visited el salvador with my friends and we had the best time of our lives. Everything is so much cheaper. Organic food everywhere, they use the dollar, perfect weather... I JUST LOVE IT!
El Salvador had not developed because the previous governments that ruled the country for 30 years were corrupt murderous thieves, they stole 40 billion dollars ARENA/FMLN
My husband is in LOVE with El Salvador! I'm Salvadorean Canadian, and he's Italian Canadian. We have traveled to many beautiful countries in the world, and he tells everyone El Salvador is the best! We're buying a house because this is where he wants us to retire.

just write it however you like it the point here is you like, love El Salvador don't worry about others trying to teach you grammar. they need to get with the real program here. things that you like in EL SALVADOR. 🙂 nuisance persons.
As a Salvadorian, this is the funniest thing I've ever seen! I think you might be more passionate about not eating pupusas like a taco then Salvadorians are 😂😂😂
I know, right! Im Salvi but I have never liked eating saucy foods with my hands and my family gives me a hard time over it but my half gringo son is as passionate as this guy!😆
I’ve been to El Salvador twice on vacation and i ate one like a Taco in someone’s house and one person said something about it not being a taco. He wasn’t actually offended he was just laughing at a chele.
Well I will disagree,I was born in El Salvador and left when I was 23.Pupusas,made at home or at a pupuseria, I alway ate them like a taco with curtido on top. Even now I eat them like that.
Omg!!! I thank you for telling people what I tell people about our beautiful country. Pupusas are better enjoy by hand. Also there is so much too see am a Salvadoreña and I have not see all the beauty the country can offer. Like you say be aware where you go and surroundings. Keep your belongings w you and don't carry too much stuff. Just enjoy the country there is so much to see and you can get a guide to show you around.Thank you for your video
My mother-in-law is Salvadoreña and visits her hometown once a year. Her advice is pretty much on par with this guys. She adds that she won't wear any jewelry out or anything else that might make you a target
Thank you for this! I’m born and raised in Sweden but I’m also the daughter of a Salvadoran immigrant (which is also why I found the Swedish shirt in this video very entertaining 🤩). The differences between Sweden and El Salvador are big and I’ve been too afraid to visit even though I’d really like to get to know my heritage. This video made me feel like I shouldn’t be so scared and I’ll try and plan a trip after the pandemic. Thank you 🥰🌸
Sir, you’re the first American that doesn’t disrespect Latinoamerican countries while filming a video. Your energy is just so genuine. You really transmit how much you enjoy traveling. I like your channel. Thank you for sharing ☺️💛
Thank you for posting this, sir. This is my home country and it has been given a bad wrap a lot of the time. You have helped to dispel those myths. Thank you. Thank you!! Love from a Salvadoran living in Chicago, USA.
Mr. Wolter, I am from El Salvador and I watched your video with my family. You are spot on with everything you said. Thank you for being so kind in your comments. You have a lovely family and I"m glad you enjoyed your stay.
I just got back from my 4th time to Salvi in June 2021. I always travel alone and I am a woman. Salvi is a GORGEOUS country and the people are gracious and very kind. Have fun, be respectful and you will have no problem. Guanacos por siempre!
Wooow! You brought out the great side of the country, I'm from Minnesota and I've been searching for places to go outside the U.S and El Salvador truly looks great beside I don't have yo worry about learning different type of currently, thank you so much for doing this for us the turist.
Yes my country is getting better and better I love your video and thank you for visiting my awesome country my pulgarcitoooo..... can't wait to go there again......🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰🇸🇻🇸🇻🇸🇻🇸🇻❤❤❤❤
El Salvador is so beautiful, sadly the 80s we have a war, and the 90s and the first years of the 2000s were not safe. But since 2019 we have advanced a lot, we have a lot of days without a single murder now.
Getting better than most of the liberal cities run by Democrats in the USA... those places are turning into the hunger games. A few conservative Towns are turning as well.
@@hecatrice2064 Without the USA sticking his nose on these countries, any country can like the US or better. These countries don’t lies or create false wars in the name of God.
Great video. Thank you for all the advise. El Salvador is changing and its trying to give the best travel experience for anyone who visits. ♥ El Salvador 🇸🇻 🇺🇸
Still can't believe you came and I didn't know about it!! I'm happy you had fun here! I've watched a lot of your videos which have really helped me a lot for all my travels outside El Salvador. You are welcome back anytime!!
wow! im just amaze about how awesome you are about speaking about our places, beaches, towns, museums and stuff! thank you very much for spreading the good word about or small but big country! thanks!
I honestly think it’s a better experience or adventure how ever you wanna call it in El Salvador out of all Central America and the Salvadorians definitely make your visit more memorable
Excellent point on personal safety. And yes, don’t drink the tap water! I got a really bad case of bacterial poisoning in 2017 by drinking a fountain soda at a Pollo Campero…El Salvador is beautiful!!
Brother I love you! I'm a salvadoran visiting Chicago and first video I watched from you was about food in Chicago. I was actually looking for some advices where to go and what to eat and it was fantastic. I don´t remember if you mentioned it or not but your advices were like a truly Chicagoan. Now I found this video about El Salvador and I assure you all you say its like what a truly salvadoran will recommend to family or friends visiting from other countries. I deduct you are not salvadoran and therefore my admiration is bigger. Thanks and have a nice stay!
I loved your intro, about the papusas!!! My wife and I went in 2018 she is American and had to learn the hard way when we first arrived and my family took us to Olocuilta, she asked for a fork and knife and they gave her plastic utensils and the fork broke...She was laughing her butt off when you said that about kicking you out of the pupuseria!!!😂😂😂 Great video!!!👌👍
Thank you so much for this video - we are heading out to El Salvador tomorrow night and you said few things that I was forgetting! I hope the rain doesn’t damage our plans too much
That last bit on haggling prices is true. The prices are set because they’re already low. Don’t low-ball these people. Their monthly income averages out to less than $300 a month. Also, the pace in El Salvador is slow, so your suggestion for patience is true. In short, don’t haggle and have patience - people there aren’t trying to rip you off or are being lazy/slow on purpose. 👋🏽😎👍🏽🍀🌈🌈
love El Salvador been there many times since 2010 i have visited many places mentioned in the video never had a problem very friendly hard working people
Wolter, in behalf of our country and people. I want to thank you so very much for.. 1- visiting our country( mi casa es su casa) ❤ with love.. 2- for taking the time to put this video together. You could had just injoy your staying. But insted you went and shared with the 🌎 WORLD. Your experience. 3- for breaking down all the " DON'T DO " very well put together. 4- in a " HUMBLE WAY I WANT TO THANK YOU AND ALL OTHER'S TURIST WHO HAD VISITED AND ALSO MADE POSITIVE COMMENT'S ABOUT YOUR ( HOME) El 🇸🇻 SALVADOR 🇸🇻.
I-L-L!! This Illini business school graduate loves your channel and is excited to visit El Salvador in March 2023 with my husband! Thanks for the fun videos.
You’re spot on on everything! I was born and raised in ES, now I’m living in San Francisco, CA and unfortunately my parents were so over protective that I didn’t get to visit so many places like Cerro Verde and more, great video!
*Update: the $12 fee to come into the country no longer applies President Bukele got rid of it to promote tourism. *you are pretty much on point in everything thanks for the video. *just like China or Europe there will be shady people. you can tell right away so you can ditch them. its a tropical country that being said be prepared with bug spray and always stay in a hotel with airconditioning. El Salvador is a great country and it deserves a chance.
9:36 I can already hear that Guy they want to throw in the water saying "Ey Maje, Dejame!", I love El Salvador. My Parents are born there but I am Texas born. I went in March 2021 and I didnt want to come back home, before that the last time I went was in 2004, I was 7 so I didnt remember anything.. The happy vibes and the humbleness is what I love about El Salvador. Also those Bus Drivers dont give a crap about safety. We were stuck in traffic and the Bus Driver just floored and went to the opposite of the road, until he saw a Cop of course. I love it. Them Ladies at the Markets, some get touchy when they know you are American, two grabbed me and told me "Que le damos mi Chele?", I bought something, I felt special. Awesome video, and please be safe on your travels.
You are amazing! As a Salvadoran I approve your review, 100% accurate in everything. We've had the tourist fee at the airport for forever 😒 Thank you for visiting my beautiful country ❤
@@AL-Maawi I’m so jealous! Have lots of fun and take lots of pictures. Remember to only drink bottled water and liquids from sealed containers as our tap water could make you sick. If you can, get the typhoid vaccine before going. That kept my husband from getting sick other than that you should have an amazing trip.
@@rosab6259 Thank you so much for your advice.. I will keep that in my mind .. I'm going there for a mission trip with my church.. I will be exploring some places there as well.. I'm sure , I will love it there😊😊
@@AL-Maawi Sorry, I know that’s unsolicited advice but I worry about foreigners getting sick from the water. Thank you so much to you and your church but visiting my country and sharing your time, talents, and resources with my people. God bless you all for doing this.
Great video Mark! Just to add to the chan (or chian) drink: it is any drink such as lemonade, mixed lemonades, hibiscus or even just a kool-aid type drink fortified with chia seeds. Salvadoran horchata (the best!) sometimes has peanuts in it, just an FYI in case of allergies. We call peanuts “maní”.
I went to El Salvador like last May and it was amazing over there I had a good time but I miss it tho hopefully in November I go back there again cuz the food and everything is just amazing over there I like it there .
Thank You for shedding a positive light on our country! After so much suffering, God has blessed us with a leader like Nayib Bukele. The country is progressing and thriving. We hope you visit again.
