Electric powered garden tractor project. The tractor is originally a MTD tractor lawnmower which has now been modified for pure fun. It has Alltrax controller driving a Mars electric motor. The back end is completely re-built and some experiments were tried on that as well. The belt drive didi not match the power of the motor and was changed to a chain drive. Also the free wheels gave in after few hours of driving but as a concept turned out to be very functional. A strong custom free wheel has been designed and one day, should the planets be in right position, will hopefully get done and find their way to the next version of this tractor.

Hi, Could you tell me what type of Rear Axle this one. It looks very simple, compare to transaxle found online. Can I buy similar for my Golf Carts ?

That is scary fast - great achievement, in cold climate the batteries are supposedly not so efficient, but you can’t tell here. Well done!👍🏽

This is great. I am so impressed. I was wondering what motor controller you were using and where you got it from. I am in the process of converting a fairground ride and have a 48kw motor, but need to control it.

Controller is Alltrax AXE 4844 and I actually got the entire conversion package from evdrives.com except for the throttle pedal which I've crafted myself.

I would think it will probably be little on weak side but of course it also a matter of gearing. Slow speed gives more usable power for such heavy purpose. The motor I've used can produce up to 4,5kW but with my gearing I don't think even it would be much of use in ploughing.

@@eE48v Thanks for response Actually we are using 750 Watt BLDC motor having 2800 rpm without any gear & with gear it will give 450 rpm. Now we are making mini electric tractor . Which battery u used in ur model???

Nice build. Why didn't the belt drive work? I switched from chain to belt in my 6x6 and it's been working great for years. Less noise, no stretch, no oil being thrown around. Belt Drive Test

I see that you were using a cogged belt (I hope this is the right term - cambelt type of belt). I tried with a costefficient v-belt. I think the main problem with that was the front pulley which simply was too small to give adeguate traction for the belt (diameter of the pulley was about 4cm (or 1,5") ). It would propably work by using a bigger pulley on the motor and adding an extra axel to achieve required reduction for the drive ratio. Anyway I think I would rather go with the cogged belt as well in the next build - much less hassle.
