The truth is that Freddie and Elaine were a good friends, so he knew about that cover album and he was really excited about it. He loved the orchestra idea. All 10 songs are just fenomenal, felt in love with the album and Elaine of course. Beautiful and stunning!
This is totally outstanding, even for Elaine, who always impresses me (& that's an understatement). I was lucky to have seen her twice live -- in a NYC Opera production of "Sweeney Todd" and recently in "Follies" on Broadway. A magnificent performer born for musical theatre.
I had the extreme pleasure to see her live aboard a cerise ship, where she sang most of her hits. I cried; so beautifully done. ! She is in a class of her own.

I was totally unprepared for this. What can you say? Would never have thougjht Elaine Paige was capable of something like this - to add to her well deserved laurels. Phenomenal performance by a great great artist. This is clearly out of her comfort zone & its a masterpiece on an extremely difficult song to pull off. Yes - EPIC!

Yes, I was in the audience that night and it was a great concert. This was from Birmingham Symphony Hall in the UK and I was 17 at the time! Wonderful memories.
You can't compare her to Freddie. Mercury is Mercury, Paige is Paige. The original version is a whole different story. This was stunning. I love her voice. Like a bell. Lightens my mood always.

This is the first time I've seen her in this mode, but somehow I'm not surprised. She's one of those performers who always suggests that she's better than what you're looking at, no matter how good that is. Would love to meet her, at any age.
