Planted two of these yesterday and so glad I found your videos as well as comments. Going to baby them and hopefully in a couple of years have peaches to eat. I can't wait! (Zone 8 here in Texas)
Your videos are a true reflection of your talent and ingenuity, my friend. It's clear that you put your heart and soul into your work. And it's an honor to have you visit our channel, we can discuss more about our experiences in harvesting and building farms.
3 1/2 years ago this video inspired me to plant 2 Elberta Peach trees in our yard. Along with several others. What I can tell you is that “AS ADVERTISED” these are the fastest growing peach veriety I’ve ever encountered. & they are delicious. I’m not bs-ing you they have grown 15 feet tall and wide in this time frame!!
Glad to hear! I got a bunch of baby peaches on my 2 trees this year they survived the late frost we had here in Tennessee. They do grow really fast, I keep mine pruned down because they can get way too big. Thanks for watching.
I'm in zone 5 and mine are thriving. I planted 9 of them thinking they wouldn't produce that much. I have way too many peaches. I feed them to the deer.
It started producing the 2nd year after I planted it. Placement of the tree as well of the climate where you live is big factors. I live in zone 7. My trees are placed in a area where I get good drainage (no puddling of water at the base) and they get 6+ hours of sunshine where they are planted as well.
I know you purchased it as a bare root tree but how old is it? The reason I’m asking is because I just planted to different types of Elberta’s (2) weeks ago and they’re both 4’ sticks right now. Thanks for sharing!
I'm in northwest alabama. Just planted one about 2 weeks ago , a baby tree from Walmart. Few of the leaves are turning yellow already. Is that normal , did it happen to yours? Just wondering if my tree is dieing or need something to grow more Green..
It's a regular peach. This tree the Elberta is what made Georgia the peach state. They have a lot of these trees in peach orchards in GA because they are heavy producers and also because of the paramount flavor this peach has. If your judging it by a peach that you would get at a supermarket, these are way superior and have better flavor.
@@dingram3588 thanks for the reply! I'm looking to put a peach tree in my backyard this year and love yellow, sweet and tart peaches. Grocery store peaches are usually terrible and I need my fix! I live in Southern California though so I'd have to see if it will work here.
It took 2 years from the time I planted the tree. The big tree was very small when I planted it, but it grew fast in 2 years. The 2nd year, I did get peaches off it by maybe like 15 at the most. The 3rd year I got a huge harvest it was loaded. Now I get a huge harvest every year. Peaches are usually ready to pick the last week of June first week of July every year here in Tennessee.
