We have this caravan and it's completely brilliant. We've had caravans for years but this is the one we've said we will never need to change. Having bed for parents and bunks for kids is such a luxury! Love the fact kids can go to bed and we can close the door so they can sleep without us disturbing them. The walk through bathroom is brilliant as you can leave the sliding door open to bedroom so loads of space to get changed in private, important for our teenager. But you can still shut off as just a loo so doesn't matter if you're in front or back of the van it's still private. Lots of storage too with under the big bed. Could've done with an outside locker to under bunk bed, that's hard to get into and would have been useful if accessible from outside. We went for wrap around cushions at front rather than table, which is lovely. Only problem we had was what to do with the TV. So we put it on side of the fridge unit and it's perfect. Can't recommend this caravan enough! It actually feels like it's been designed by someone who caravans with a family!
Thanks for sharing your owner’s experience of this model. I must say I like it as I think a fixed bed makes it much simpler on a night. Enjoy your caravan trips when we can get back out 😊 Karina
@@niamhpritchard1746 we ordered it when we bought the caravan but I'm sure you can buy after too. Instead of a table in front of the front window between the seats, we have an extra seat cushion and back, so it's a u shaped sofa instead. Hope that helps.
Any idea of what the weight rating is for the lower and upper bunkbed? I saw on one video that they are rated to 11st? Doesn’t seem a lot for growing teenage boys
@lindseyscott3011 Off the top of my head, I don’t have the figures but the bottom bunk often isn’t limited but the top one will be. If you ask Elddis they will give you the correct info but usually there is a warning sticker on the beds with a weight limit. A dealer may be able to give you the correct answer.
Just ordered one of these. Fell in love with the layout, as a family with 4 kids it’s fantastic. Been on the verge of buying a van for a few years, viewing one of these made us make the leap. The only concern I have is towing the beast as a first caravan 🤦♂️. Great vid, we’re hooked on the channel now. For us caravan noobs you’re content is great!
Congratulations on purchasing your new caravan! This layout is great! Dont worry about towing, just take it steady, stick to wider roads and swing wide 😊👍 I hope you’re out touring very soon, Karina
Great review guys. Elddis do have some fantastic and alternative layouts. You’re right, it is expensive for an entry level van but likewise, unusual to see a splashback in the kitchen, an electric hot plate and a window/bin on the entrance door on an entry level van.
I am impressed also that price is quite high for a family. What are the vents outside above the fridge freezer vents for?? I unfortunately have a tall family and those bunks look too short for them. But the kitchen is very well thought out (finally!!) And again I love a middle washroom 🥰
Thanks for watching 😊 I believe those vents are for the microwave..the bunks are 6”3 in length and 1”11 in width. I like the kitchen too on this one. Stay safe 😊 Karina
For a family caravan I like that it has a good robust interior colour that should wear well, although that lack of USB's is concerning as this caravan is aimed at a young family with children that no doubt will have gadgets that will constantly need charging. I was also just saying when you mentioned about towels that the back wall was lacking and a wasted space and would be ideal for a towel rail. I think there's more they could do with this, but it's a good start.
I wouldn't call this van entry level. Especially at the price. I understand the compass casita is exactly the same model. We have a pegasus 524 currently and we've been looking at this model since it came out. I think I'd prefer a wrap around sofa in the front rather than the draws but that's just personal taste. Most of the reviews I've seen said they enjoy it. It's a long old van at 8 meters, a full meter longer than our Peggy, so I wonder how it would fair in Devon and Cornwall being longer and wider? I think we will definitely end up getting one of these for the lay out though as it is the perfect family of 4 lay out, and it gives the flexibility for friends and family if they want to tag along and use the living area for a bed or the awning.
The layout of this caravan is far better than Swift Sprite Quattro. The beds are better placed the wash room is easier to get to in the middle of the night for all bigger fridge. Okay so no usb points or towel rail I could easily sort them out with being okay at a bit of diy. It is the one my wife and I would buy if we had a family.
hi guys hope your keeping well. ive a question, why do they give the spec out in meters for length and feet for width how odd dont know if you agree. this is a niche market layout i think yes family of 5 or 6 but for a family of 3 or 4 far better layouts for main double bed. not keen on having the tv in the window on the front chest seems a bit dated like the 90,s. hope that door when left open all day covering fridge freezer vents dosent affect the efficiency of the applience working. great vid and filming skills stay safe have a good christmas xx
Thanks Andy, the measurements are available in feet and metres, I prefer to use metres for length as most site and ferry bookings work in metres. Width is usually in feet and inches as you say although in Europe they use metres and centimetres. I shouldn’t think the door will effect the vents, no much more than an awning on a hot day. The fridges are designed to work in hot EU countries so our UK summers should be okay 😊 I like a TV on a bracket or stand myself too. Thank you for watching and have a great weekend 👍 Karina
8 meters long and 8 foot wide, I'm getting confused, are we running in metric or imperial 😂👍 Thanks for the review. Stay safe and hope you have a Merry Christmas.👍Mark & Coral
Do you prefer the cabinet situated at the front in between the sofas ? I have never really understood why this is so prevalent in UK caravans? the table pullout never seems to be enough and i would have thought that the drawers interfere with people sitting on the sofa right next to it .
Personally I am not bothered about a front chest, I prefer a wrap around sofa. The pull out table is good for putting drinks on though or having a snack. Having had a caravan with not front chest it wasn’t something we missed. Other people wouldn’t buy a caravan without one. Thanks for watching our review 😊 Karina
We bought the additional cushions that fit where the cabinet goes instead, it's so much better and gives much more space. Window ledge is fine to pop a drink on. Don't miss the cabinet at all. Cushions a bit pricey but they made the van so much better.
You would be best speaking to a dealer to confirm if the chest is something you can swop in and out yourself for the cushion option or if it is a factory fit only. I wouldn’t want to give any incorrect information. 😊 Thank you for watching
Great review. Love the layout on this one, but I think an l shape lounge with room on the wall would have been better for the lounge. The Lunar 696 would be my next choice after this.
Agree completely, an L shape lounge with the tv wall mounted on the near side would be much better. I have 2 young children who are both autistic so this bedroom is perfect for us, especially as they are flight risks. I’ve seen some dealer specials of this model which would add further improvements, external gas point, awning heater, usb sockets etc. If there was more flexibility re lounge set up I’d have probably ordered one already. I’ve been regularly seeking reviews of this model since it launched, this is definitely the best review video I’ve seen so far.
