FIRST EVER COMPLETION OF ELDEN RING IN UNDER ONE HOUR (IGT). Obviously far from perfect, but not too bad for a 12 day old game :) Catch streams live on Twitch: / lilaggy Twitter: / lilaggytv Discord: / discord
Some info: - This run is timed using In Game Time (IGT). The timer on screen is displaying the exact IGT straight from the game's memory - it's the same number you'd see on the load game screen from the main menu. The speedrun leaderboard rules have not been officially decided yet, so IGT may not be the timing method that ends up being used in future runs (we may opt for real time minus load screens aka "RTA No Load" timing instead). Going by RTA No Load timing, this run is a minute or two off of being a sub hour run. - The warp to Volcano Manor at ~11:45 is an intended mechanic. If you die to the grab attack of that specific Virgin Abductor, you get taken there. An NPC tells you about this. - All the warps after that one are not intended at all. Basically I am repeatedly forcing the game to spawn me at a default position for whatever area I was in when I last died. This all leads up to me dying in the Farum Azula preview area and then spawning in the actual Farum Azula main area, then playing to the end of the game from there. - At ~16:00, the Godskin Noble doesn't activate if you enter the fog gate from max distance, and then we can just beat him up with bleed procs. This is the main reason we start Samurai (the starting katana has good bleed damage). - The damage for the Icerind Hatchet skill that I'm spamming on all the bosses doesn't scale with your stats like normal attacks would; it's damage is almost entirely based on what upgrade level your weapon is. Therefore I can just dump all my level ups into HP and FP without losing out on any significant amount of damage. - Sub 50 minutes is easily doable, I just need to not die 5 times lol
Are you setting up the CFA Wrong Warp up minutes before? How is the setup for this skip, seems massive? Do you guys think FS is regretting having teleporter with all the Late game areas available :D
A better reference frame would be a glitchless run, but still, you can get really op really fast in this game even without glitches, and he would only need to kill 4 more bosses (two great runes, omen king and fire giant), so probably still less than 2h
Really? You think it's more fun to watch someone plod through the game normally while just holding sprint than it is to see the ultimate extremes to which the game can be broken and exploited? I disagree, but to each their own
@@Tulanir1 these ultra glitch runs are ass this at least involves skill fighting bosses instead of downgrading your hardware into a ps1 so you can framezip right into the fuckin elden throne
@@Tulanir1 it’s interesting to see the game get absolutely broken, but it’s not interesting to watch someone walk on air for a little bit, and cheese a boss into spawning outsider their arena into falling to their death.
@@Tulanir1 a game having interesting exploits is fun to watch but watching them teleport around the map and walk around until a boss dies randomly until the credits roll isn’t interesting in the slightest
@noah b I was a true sorcerer until the end of rannis questline, then I used the dark moon greatsword forever (its weapon art is genuinely strong), had to respec to big bonk for an end game npc invasion quest line and abused moonveil for melenia :P
@noah b just FYI i beat the game with giant crusher+25 and Prelate's Inferno Crozier+25 (both on royal knights resolve (heavy)), clawmark seal+24 (with flame grant me strength incantation), maliketh (helm, glove, boots), raptor's black feather (chest piece), ritual sword talisman, viridian amber medallion (talisman), claw talisman, great jar's arsenal (talisman) and mimic+10
@@babylonianempire3491 gj on killing the Queen! From what I understand of the games power curve... it goes stormveil, castle morne, the academy, the hand Manor, the volcano Manor, caelid, the capital, etc. At least that's what I'm doing with my soul level 1 run currently!
@@twanvanhouwelingen8759 if some can nail zip evert time the current route can be less than 6 minutes. Tbh, any elden ring speed run had basically became zip skill contest.
I'm hyped for all bosses runs. They probably won't be as popular as in other souls games but I always like seeing the development of build optimisation in those kinds of runs, which will be particularly important in Elden Ring.
@@ztoogemcducc6360 I'm not even sure if the dungeon mini bosses are even really bosses. Many of them are just a bit stronger than a regular enemy. And alot of reskins.
53:03 "The ruuuun is deeead" so great seeing moments like this in landmark speedruns haha. Amazing accomplishment. My best glitchless, immortal severance run is still 1:12. This is so amazing yet has all those showings of small improvements gosh, this game might break sub 40.
Given how flawed and unoptimized this run is, I think sub 40 is entirely possible. It might be flawed but it's still a great run given that he finished it in sub hour.
@@Vandalgia yeah, that's still considering that this game has only been out for 2 weeks. I guarantee that in a couple months, or even weeks, the route and strats are gonna be drastically different.
@@spatuladracula3938 Probably yeah. I'm excited to see how the speedrunner gonna optimize this game though. Distortion9 did sub 50 and even so it's still flawed, he had a few bad RNGs, unintentional deaths, and got hit by the enemies, those factors really extend the time. Probably in a few months we could even get a sub 30 mins for this, haha
Sure he did it, but why's this guy pausing the timer when he is clearly rebooting the game lmao I understand load screens, but manually quitting the game as a strat should be counted towards time
@@butlike8988 idk, thats how its always worked though. im guessing its because people might have slower internet or pc which would cause more loading time which wouldn't really make it a fair playing field?
@@butlike8988 as bryan said, much like the rate at which your rig gets through loading screens, the rate at which your rig boots the game is also different. this allows way more people to compete and allows plenty of uniformity to legitimize the run.
@@butlike8988 it’s an in game time (IGT) run. His timer only matters for his personal tracking of splits. The speedrun time is the time on the save file in the load screen.
First off congrats!! Love your runs. Secondly I know you won’t see this but you saved my 62 hour game with the wrong warp strat. Soft locked after a cutscene crashed and the ww was the only fix that worked!! Thank you!!!
To be fair to Nico, his run is way more impressive than this considering that was deathless, fought way more bosses, and was done like a week ago lol. This is only so much faster because of the speedrun community's effort in finding glitches and putting together a crazy fast route for the run. Wish I took a few less deaths on this run, I can definitely do much better, but sub hour is sub hour 😎
@@LilAggy you guys work lightning fast. Honestly impressive what humans can do together when you all share an intrinsically motivated goal. No money, no reward, just the satisfaction of improving your skills.
No joke every time a huge open world, open-ended, do-it-in-any-order-you-want game comes out, I'm looking forward to the speedruns. These games never disapoint
I dunno, dude. It almost always devolves into "specific glitch aaand time, credits are rolling." I guess that's why I generally prefer glitchless% runs. :)
46:27 you dont have to move the Cursor down to get to the roundtable. You can hit y or triangle to let the bonfire menu pop up. Then just switch the tab accordingly and you are there.
Even with multiple hiccups, deaths, and bad RNG, sub hour run. I can imagine a sub 50 had this run been absolutely perfect. I believe in the RNG Gods for you Aggy, great going!!
Meanwhile me at 40 hours: "Finally: The Alteus Plateau... This is probably the final area." But as I've seen from spoilers: It seems like I'm only at the halfway point lmao
Had to kill his dumb ass twice. First time I traded hits with him for the final blow. His op ass bleed affect took me out after I had already killed him. Spawned me back at the grace to try again 😭
I'm impressed that about you, doing speedrun is just like you challenging yourself to do something that not everyone can achieve or end it in a short time.. BRAVO!
I watched this speed run and i was definitely impressed...am sitting here playing this game over 100hrs and this guy beats it in 1 hour....truely inpressive...deserves a sub
Im no speedrunner but man, I would love to understand how you guys get everything together to pull off this kind of runs in so little time after the game's release.... Fantastic job by the way!!!!
Have almost 200 hours ingame, beaten the final boss but dont want to pick ending yet. The game is great and so full of stuff to do :) Kudos to you for this achivement m8, fun to watch :)
Conglaturations! I remember finding the Icerind axe super early in my playthrough and it carrying me halfway through the game until I got bored and used a real weapon lol, of course it's used to chunk bosses in the speedrun.
Dammit I wonder if there’s a button combo on console for that. Other than this I’ve just used the grace list to travel because I agree that the rountable being at the SW corner of the map is annoying
When Elden Beast flies in the air and summons the rings on the ground, I find that running exactly to the direction he is pointing his head is where he'll be when he comes back down.
Well, We should already make a "PROPER Speedrun - no glitch, all skill" category. Call me old fashioned but this is exploit/glitched walkthrough. Yes, speedrunning was similiar in all speedrun's for DS game's, like texture glitching, exploiting bosses and all the broken stuff. Hopefully some of those will be fixed soon.
@@Yem1010 no, it is not. This is in fact a speedrun. This DOES use glitches, but it's still a proper speedrun. This idea that glitches invalidate runs is close minded and flawed.
@@Alex-ex8oballrighty, Ive done some research and Any% = Glitch run, so its all good. I understand entertain value of those runs, but imho glitches that disable AI for boss, break game or give unlimited resources are , in fact, cheating.
@@Yem1010 Yeah any% is called that because it's any percentage of the game completed. If you don't like glitches then some games have glitchless categories although this is rare because glitchless can be a very boring category for a lot of games.
@@xvelest Nice. I'm also part of the dark souls Speedrun community, but I still a lot more to learn to finally get WR or even the fame to be known for beating certain time from other speedrunners. I'm talking about every Soulsborne + Sekiro + ER
@@xylan9543 i'm at like 140 hrs and not past lyndell yet. i am doing just about every cave / catacomb, talking to every npc, exploring everything. i hate feeling like i missed something even if i'm gonna do another playthrough lmao.
@@xylan9543 definitely not all of them but most of them. Right now I am going back and beating every boss I missed before I start my second playthrough.
People are still ignorant of what a Speedrunning category is...it's like, if you really watch enough Any% speedrunning videos to get tired of seeing them wouldn't you logically go and see if there's more than just Any%? If you do know about the different categories why treat it so low or illegitimate? Bruh it's literally in a separate category for reason.
Man, Elden Beast always makes me tear up. What a beautiful fight. The beautiful chorus music, the way the thing spirals into the sky so damn gracefully. I don't think a game has ever come as close to the feeling of battling something beyond that majestic and godly on such a cosmic scale as Elden Ring's final boss.
Man i wish i could say the same, for me elden beast ruined one of my favourite fights in the game, radagon was so damn cool and then i have to fight stall beast while it runs away for 90% of the fight
Elden Beast's fight is one of the least enjoyable things in the game, he just runs endlessly and drags out what would otherwise be a solid final boss. I love his design, his fight sucks
@@Lautaro-it9nd I’ve played and completed all of them and especially DS3, probably 100+ characters made in that. And Sekiro, and Bloodborne. Too many places to explore, that’s my trouble.
I'd love to speedrun the game! I currently have 100+ hours and have been avoiding sleep to play this. Everything about the game is so exciting, I can't wait to finish creating my character.
at 59 minutes when he does that ledge skip my mind exploded cuz yesterday when i was helping dudes coop the last two bosses i saw hundreds of bloodstains around that spot. now i know why lmaoooo
As the official Kyle Ambassador, I'd like to apologize for my associates behavior in this run. We will be taking the appropriate measures to ensure that there will be no further incidents.
I figured between you or dist, one of you would’ve been doing a run by now and I got to say this is really impressive man! Always fun watching your videos
I was proud to make it through that glintstone gate in less than 20 hours. You walked through it at exactly 8 minutes 15 seconds. Edit: 3 weeks later and Distortion is watching the credits roll at 12 minutes. Just wow!
"I wish Torent had speed upgrades" Bruh... Torrent is by far the fastest entity in the game for non-dash attack movement speed, literally nothing outruns Torrent already, how fast do you want him to be?
Here I am at 85 hours about to start the final part of the game and here comes Aggy finishing the game in 50 minutes. Honestly, the speedrunning community for souls games has always amazed me, keep up the good work, hope you can keep the record and improve upon it in the future.
I just crossed 100 hours on my mage and haven't done Malenia or even Fire Giant, etc... I'm almost level 170 lol. Meanwhile this dude comes outta nowhere finishing it in under an hour 💀
Hey! something that could shave 30 secs off your Elden beast fight. i noticed when i did the fight. if he went up in the air to do the rings he would always spawn on the opposite side of the aren after that. so as soon as you see him start to go up to cast iy you can run to the opposite side and you'll be right next to him!
I love the all bosses speedruns of souls games, but I'd assume those'll take a while to route and figure out. But these any% ones are just as impressive, especially this early in the games lifespan. Good job Aggy and the speedsouls community for glitch hunting and performing this great! Was fantastic to watch!
Dang Aggy GG my dude, sorry I wasnt there to watch it live. Been busy playing it myself and wanted to beat the game before watching any runs. But cant tell you how happy I am that your the one to get the 1st sub 1 hour!
Congrats Aggy! I must say though, this video is really boring. Nothing against you ar all, just the nature of the game for speedrunning. Unless you find some really cool glitches to warp around the map, a lot of the time this game is just running from one point to another for 10 minutes at a time, which must be draining for you attempting this run over and over again, and a little unexciting for us as viewers. It's not like Sekiro Speedrun, that has a lot of areas where things can be min-maxed and where things can go wrong. But keep it up! Sub 50 looks definitely possible with this strategy.
