My build against the duo was pretty much this except I opt for versatility by also having clawmark seal, pulley crossbow and bloodhound claws for the step. This was a grind as just like you I had to trade for good damage. It's lucky that their Ai doesn't allow to coordinated attacks as usually the Noble's size restricts the Apostle from getting in range for melee.
Have we read the same manga? Guts is referred to as a master swordsman on multiple occasions. Black Swordsman era Guts is already the strongest human fighter we see in the story, he's just fighting battles where it's impossible to not reveive damage due to his opponents being, well, demons. But the fact that he is even able to fight with the Apostles as a human is a testament to his strenght, everybody else just dies within seconds.
Guts is a gambler. He would risk taking a devastating blow if it meant he could counter with an even deadlier one. It's what makes the battles in the story so exciting, even when we know he will win.

If there's a beserk game that was actually in this style of play I'd really re-buy a console & none stop play it, because this just looks pretty decent.
I wish Miura's assistants and whoever with Miura should let Miyazaki make a berserk game from the beginning to the last chapter Miura stopped working on.
What im enjoying about these is that you are clearly still having a challenging time in these fights. a lot of cosplay boss battle videos are perfectionists who dodge everything perfectly and play really safe, but this feels more in line with Guts going recklessly into the fray, taking a lot of hits in the process, but also making a lot of good damage happen. its more entertaining when its a scrapping fest instead of a perfectionist ninja
I found out where Ornstien and Smough was inspired from in the manga, it was the 2 insect men, one Stronger but slower Rhinoceros beetle, and the other a fast agile Mantis.
I’ll take this over a “damageless” fight. So much better to fight aggressive with semi smart rolling rather than waiting for an opening every 10 years. Could have done less jump attack spam though…
They need to improve the strength builds against enemies like this, because colossal weapons are slow is almost always a trade when you swing the weapons against the bosses, and if you miss you’re screw. But it was a sick fight dude
I would like to See a Guts cosplay with Crossbow, Arm Canon and Explosiv bombs. I mean Guts is Strong but He also uses every other advatage that is possible
For Noble's roll attack dodge right through him, don't try to go to the side. If you get through it once, you can just walk in circles unlocked and he can't track you
I think I will beat Malenia (since she is supposedly the hardest boss) with the Guts cosplay then I will retire him for something more chill. The amount of focus I have to give with greatsword build when fighting bosses is taking a toll on me.
I'm cosplaying as Guts right now in my second playthrough (first was when the game was out a year ago, I played as a chupa chups mage nuking most things with my laser beam), Elden Ring is so much harder and rewarding playing as Guts, the basement Godskin apostle solo fight is still one of my favorite boss fights.
Bro this was literally me like, yesterday. I have the EXACT same kit you do, probably similar talismans. Nights cavalry armor, no helmet or hood. Sometimes I run the Confessor’s hood because it looks just like Guts’ hood. Lions claw ash of war, too. Well played man, I got pissed off and called in two people to merk these dudes. Have you considered using the pulley crossbow and jar cannon as he uses his prosthetics?
Honestly, I think I broke the fode and made this fight a hell of alot easier with a Guts build. You just attack only one of them ( for preference the Nobleman because his biggest attack can be blocked with the pillars and gives you more hits) and completely ignore the other one. Don't hit him, because he will become more aggressive and after some hits he will go to his next stage and, trust me, you don't want that.
