I have found a cheese for the blackgaol knight in the dlc, if you use the ash of war giant hunt he will get knocked into the air and when he lands he will be stunned long enough to do the move again, knocking him back into the air, if he gets hit into the altar wall behind his spawn it will give you long enough to pop a flask and also regain stamina

Tbh I thought he was pretty fun after I took some time just dodging for learning his moveset. I had most troubles with Mesmer. Wish I took some effort to learn him better than brute forcing it with summon and mimic.

@trnshd. Scadutree was at least fair, I was only trying it for around 30 minutes. But I've been on commander gaius all day today, I've play almost all the soulsborne games, and a lot of souls likes and no boss has ever made me take a full day before, not even Melania or any of the other dlc bosses.

I've been playing the game honestly with just great katanas and if a boss feels too easy I won't use ashes of war. But for this guy, I went scrub fuck mode and equipped two great katanas, with the enhance jump attack talisman, and jump attack brute forced it death 😂

Difficulty for the sake of difficulty. A lot of cheap difficulty in Else Ring, unfortunately. The boss that we designed is too easy? Just enlarge their hitbox, add more health/defence, make them more damage. A lot of attacks by bosses in the DLC have these multi-hitboxes where there is the initial attack and then another hitbox effect after and sometimes even another.

FINALLY GOT HIM!!! Faith builds use Scarlet Aeonia, the DOT makes it easy to keep track of his health, he takes off around 15K damage unless he’s doing a charge. Highly recommend Ritual Shield Talisman to prevent 1 hit kills through the corner

Thanks a lot bro, this cheese is kind of tricky and difficult. So what you can do is to make it easier summon the mausoleum soldiers after his health goes 50% and he goes up the air….. before he lands just summon the soldiers so that they can keep him occupied and go to the other side of the wall and start spamming the zamor spell again. That way he will be stuck on the other side while he’s busy with the summons, and you can spam this cheese again without any issues..

I was having trouble beating him until, I used Rotten Breath for his second phase. 1st Phase: Use the strategy in the video up until he starts his second phase. 2nd Phase: As soon as his 2nd Phase starts, summon a tank like Dung Eater, to distract the boss. Use a dager with Bloodhound Step to dodge out of his attack where he goes up into the air. Use Rotten Breath, while he's busy fighting your summon, till his health melts. Go back to the strat in the video to hide. Hope this helps.

Rellana, messmer, hard but fun to fight , this dumb hog , the knight that also rides a horse in the fissure area simply just unfun. Think the dlc pretty much killed all of the fun we COULD have by helping others, I used to sometimes sit for a couple hours after work just non stop helping people with Malenia. Now? I haven’t found a single summon sign , can’t get summoned by anyone anywhere in the DLC OR the base game, it’s actually the death of a game. Pre DLC was way better

Doesn't seem to work for me. I can get him into his "second phase" pretty regularly, but as soon as he has a quarter health left he does a "third phase" where he jumps in the air again and then refuses to get back into the corner. No matter how well I dodge and try to get to the other side, he follows me and one shots me.

Radahn needed a nerf, I beat him after like 10 tries pre patch, he was literally the strongest demigod, he needed to be hard. And while gaius needs to be hard sure, you can't outrun him, you can barely find any breaks in his attacks, and you can barely dodge him. It's not even entertaining, at least radahn was a fun type of challenging.

I beat this boss with a mimic and guts sword with bloodhound step imbued, your trap in the corner trick helped me get time to summon my mimic and buff before the fight starts, thanks. One of the biggest pain in the ass bosses to fight I've encountered so far.

So I tried this method and maybe I didn't execute it properly but I failed twice. So if your having trouble like I was I tried another method and it laid the Commander to rest in under a minute. I put on the fingerprint shield and hit it with a magic shield buff before going in. Here's where the magic comes in. Get Impenetrable thorns. It kills bosses in seconds !. So I went in and I got my mimic going right away. Got my shield ready and when he got close I hit L2 for a shield bash. After that he went right for my minic and forget about me. That's what u need a little bit of time to start spamming the thorns... 6 or 7 times later he was vaporized. Worked wonders on some other bosses so far :)

If you have a player summon get them to stay behind the fog gate. Gaius will immediately charge the gate. Run as far away as possible from the gate. He will continue to attack your summon through the gate. You can then pick him off with long range spells or bows. Don't do too much damage too quickly or you will agro him.

Thank you so much. This is by far the most consistent way to kill him. I used Mohgs spear, wasting 2 larval tears, but I would recommend something with a slightly bigger aoe, as i was missing quite frequently, and ended up needing to finish him with a spear poke

Still works. Took me over an hour of swearing at my monitor to get a successful run. Getting Gaius stuck on the corner for both phases is tricky. I used Scarlet Aeonia, Zamor Ice Storm, Black Knife Tiche.

I did this with dragon fire by adding on an arcane mask and some talismans . And at the very end used mimic tear which helped but wasn’t sure if was gona make it … recommend adding as many flasks as possible

Literally just did this and worked exactly as you stated!!! So glad because I’m an intelligence build and didn’t wana re speck. Also if you put down Tera Magica it does even more damage! Thank you for showing this! Would never have beat em!!!
