Flame Cleanse me spell is also a must for fighting around Rot, works better than the preserving bolusus

For everyone saying Ranni isnt in the tower. I missed her completely when she's normally giving you the summon bell at the start of the game. Bought that one later in the hub. Went to the tower, she wasn't there. Read somewhere I have to kill Rhadan for her to show up. Did that, afterwards she was there. Man, that last boss has already killed me a 100 times in his weaker form when there was no poisonous goo arround. xD But I need this weapon! Thx for the guide! :)

The cookbook to make the preserving blouses is located in the the eternal city. Near the hollowhorn grounds.

Tip : the giant you saw around 1:13 give his greatsword on kill and you can go underground on your map by pressing "Y" and moving with RB-LB you can show the underground teleport

You can fast travel between underworld and upper world by pressing the right trigger in......and yu can craft those things to get rid of rot. There is also a rot armor set you can get that completely negates rot damage. A quick Google search will show where. If I remember right I think I got it from seethwater cave on the upper map

If you're struggling with the mimic tear, you can take off all your stuff before entering and one shot him. It goes off of what you have equipped before entering not during. Found this out the funny way when my friend shot a laser and instantly killed the boss

Thanks for the video homie. I was super pissed though, I got all the way to the lake of rot to fight the boss, went to bed for the night, woke up and somehow steam fucked up my save files. I had to kill Radahn again and do everything else again but I finally got to the lake of rot and killed em, i'm lovin this katana, got it to +9 and it absolutely shreds. Appreciate it

If u go in the scarletsee the left way there is a mob who droped a resistent Talisman +1 to counter the scarlet

We really need a katana rating video from someone, some of these people say are "amazing" but their stats are pretty low

Any quick step move gets y'all threw the swamps in the game with ease, comes on most daggers if you cant kill the black knight or find ash of war.

you know there's a teleporter right outside of where the fingerslayer blade is right? it's right to the left of the door

U actually don't need step 7 and 8, I don't think they even have something to do with this quest at all. Also this area isnt the last in the quest. Don't want to spoil things for anyone but I highly suggest u keep following it. This Boss also isn't the main Boss of this area or quest, he is fully optional and just a random side boss in the area and should be pretty easy since he has very low lp. If u just wanna do the quest u don't need to mind him at all. The quest continues at the big gate in the same area, so make sure not to call it a day after this boss. There is waaaay more to this quest and u will get some even better reward if u finish it.

7:21 I don’t know why but when I watch these kinds of walkthroughs and I see the player not picking up items on the ground like this it bothers the hell out of me. I get a little anxious. Thinking “well what if it’s something you really need or can help you out in a tough spot?” Lol.

I got to lake of Rot by defeating the two gargoyles bosses and then sleeping inside a coffin and magically went up water fall. Then found another city and another coffin and fell down a other waterfall and a bunch of magic elevators later I ended up at the same place

Equip the bloodhound step and plenty of FP to get through all the rot

Does it scale with faith at all or any other katana without applying ash of war?

U don't need to press any of those to get the boss to spawn he spawns regardless

If you dont have enough boluses for the lake of rot, get the “flame me” spell.
