@@Trlll I didn't know it was the Respec item until I saw this video, but I got 8 of them not counting the other 2 the video shown. Still on my first play through, I just like exploring and only killed 3 of the main bosses. This game is big, I thought I seen everything, but it just keep having more areas lol
I always level up mostly my vitality/vigor early levels. Then once Im 50+, I figure out what build I want with the respec. Glad its back in this game. I do kinda wish weapons and magic weren't so dependent on builds though but hey thats what makes souls souls.
Bro I have 18 faith,23 dex and strength and my incantations are still doing stupid damage. A build like mine would never work in a typical souls game they let you have a little room to try out some stuff.
I minmaxed like how I would bloodbourne now I do insane damage but get one shot XD and I main dual katanas with higher strength than dex so I looked up this vid
@@g1097tony I have like 6 I can’t remember all of them but my main ones are lightning spear, black fireball and ice lightning spear and the flame of frenzy. Flame of frenzy is incredibly powerful.
Can I just say, I love the character that does the respec for you and they wrote that in narratively, even if it is a little creepy if you think about it. XD
An interesting way to play would be to respec and change your character completely after beating each Legacy Dungeon. So essentially storywise you are playing through the entire game as multiple different characters. For this to work you would still start off exploring Limgrave and the peninsula, but instead of going to Stormveil, you would beat the Academy first instead. That way you could respec and then tackle another area basically as a completely different person, style and weapon build. You could even strategize what types of builds would be effective throughout the different areas of the game.
Awesome! Im trying to play this game without guides but kept asking myself I wonder how can I respec because I focused on melee over magic from the start, but slowly started leveling my Int and faith so now my character is kind of wonky. This helps thanks!
There is 12 of em so i highly doubt anyone gonna respec 12 times :o But yeah, it encourages play with builds so it should be easy and unlimited for more exciting PvP
After exploring like a mad lad! I discovered the whole map is open from the beginning of the game, just a couple bosses on the way! I'm already all the way in the 4th area with only beating Godrich! And i found out after even Godrich can also be skipped.
I need to do this I realized I didn’t wanna go with a full sorcery build and wanted to mix incantations in with it as well after I had already invested a lot into a pure sorcery build
And please, before you all start the rebirth, make sure you're set after it. You've gotten bell bearings for upcoming upgrades, you have the weapons and incantations you want, and assure to your self this new playstyle you will adapt to is something you can enjoy and not simply because it's meta and popular for both PVP and PVE.
hey do u think you can explain the respec for me a little better im super confused i have 15 dex but its pretty much useless and i would like to nerf it down to like 12 or something and give myself hp but it wont let me..
@@joshuazendejas2765 Respeccing is resetting all of your character's levels stats to its base levels and stats. And you unfortunately cannot respec the character's base stats. For example, I assume that you took the samurai as your starting class since it has a base dexterity of 15 and base level of 9. Now if you want HP, I recommend getting talismans like Crimson Amber Medallion, Erdtree's Favor, and some of the healing/regenerative talismans.
I suppose, the alternative is very time consuming. Multiple playthroughs, item descriptions, tooltips, rechecking NPC dialogue, exploring under every stick and stone, dying a million times, losing souls repeatedly, etc like the Devs intended for replay value. Walkthroughs and guides are optional to expedite things. Play the way that is most fun for you.
I played up to Lv70 as a STR build and regret it tbh. The DEX weapons just seem more fun and apparently bleeding is the most OP thing in the game which a lot of DEX weapons have. That said, it really looks like magic is more OP in this game than any previous Souls game, so maybe that's the route? I'm super worried about running out of respecs and being stuck with a bunk save honestly.
Sorcery is busted, you can also have meteorite sorcery which deals physical dmg for those who have magic resistance. Also moonvile katana is such a great weapon.
@@darkcloud9053 I was (the 36 STR great shield specifically) and a mace/morning star. It got me through most content but after watching tons of videos I realize I was working 3x harder to do what magic classes were doing for free basically.
I did 3 of the painting puzzles from the artists shacks, the 3rd one was in lionia and got a casters gearset and a larval tear. Not sure if it was a reward for doing 3 or if it was just that particular puzzle gave that reward .
The most important thing for me is not the talking, it's the location on the map where the items can be found. Not just you but a bunch of other people who make these videos spend a ton of time talking and like half a second showing the map. Spend more time showing the map, maybe show it zoomed out first, then zoom in on the exact location and leave it here for more than half a second.
I found a tear behind the mages mansion carion I think it's called it was one were you have a painting and stand where the artist painted it got a armour set and a tear
That goddamn bear. My first death after clearing the first half of limgrave only to get charged with a sliver of health Wasn't any easier the second time around, fight him on foot and don't block. He'll run you down on horseback and will destroy your stamina when blocking.
I definitely need a respec because I started as mainly strength but then I stumbled upon a katana that shoots energy and now i have no choice but to use dex
It is my main weapon. But it scales best with inteligence. I have pretty dope sorcerer and you can totally just spend all fp on that weapon art. It is so cool.
I ended up evening out most of my stats throughout the game, but after awhile i ended up getting so many Int. weapons and sorceries i can't use that i'm considering respeccing into mostly Dex/Int instead of Dex/Faith like i was going for at first, with high Vigor/Mind/End too ofc
Just wondering do you get a return on the runes you've already spent? and does your current rune cost remain the same next time you level? edit: cheers for the replies, helped heaps!
Im not sure what you mean with your first question but every time you level up the cost goes up, so for example if you're level 40 it'll cost 8000 runes to level up to 41 and then next time you level up it's gonna cost 8500. Hope that helped, good luck bud
I'm hearing conflicting information about the larva tears I hear that they are indeed unlimited just in later areas of the games that enemies drop them and others saying they are indeed limited.
i saw mobs can drop them but after hours of farming them no second or third drop i forgott it ....... its in a deep dngn when u do the moonlight greatsword quest there are later on 3 ironballs who dropped them once or twice no idea
@@Gamfluent lmao I imagine theres probably one or two guys out there who 18 was just not enough 😂😂 "pls let there be one more this is last one I swear"
Can confirm helping someone at Nokron while picking up the larval tear from the ball and finishing helping the host does NOT allow you to keep the larval tear. Guess im forever a scourge sword main now. :')
Spent 1 larval tear swapping to a Sword of Night and Fury build, then just yolo'd the magma dragon. Gonna spend another to swap back to Intel build asap, this is kinda broken
Hi arekkz not sure if it's known but a ghoul standing by a fire on the volcano mountain drops a tear he's under the ridge near a salesmen I'm tryna find proper coords, but he's just sitting next to a fire he seems like a simple zombie but when he dies he morphs into some giant cthulu looking thing lmao
That is a faith incantation, it's one of the imp guarded areas in Stormveil Castle, of which I believe there are two? Maybe three? You're looking for the Godskin Prayer Book, iirc.
Does it give you points or the equivalent number of souls? Never respecced in a souls game. If it's souls, do you have a chance of losing them (aka being dumb and dying twice) and in doing so ruin your character? More a hypothetical as I assume anyone would immediately reallocate all their stats right then and there.
Assuming it's the same as DS2 and 3, you are stuck on the leveling window and cannot get out of it unless you spend enough points to be back at the exact same level you were or cancel the respec.
Need help: I had this respec in this location already, but I didn’t use it. Now I want to respec but there is the normal sellen standing at this point and I can’t respec anymore, what to do ???
The thing I don't get is when Pwargaming was showcasing builds for OPTIMAL CLASS, it shows there that some of the attribute has no point spent in them. That's why I thought you could respec every points to attributes of your choice.
So just to clarify because I'm not the brightest but when you respec it takes you back to the starting level and point set. Do you keep the point you previously had and get to replace them all and then you go back to your previous level you were before respecing? Or do you lose some or all of them when you I do that? I want to respec but I don't want to lose the levels I worked for..
Would it be possible to use method to lower my stats in case the meta for PvP is lower than my current level? For example, level 100 to level 90 and get rid of the remaining 10 levels.
respecing is all great and everything, but people need to understand that late game if you respec into an entirely different build like say full str to int, you will have severly under boosted weapons and will need to use very hard to get and limited smithing stones to get those items to a practical + point that your old str based items where at..if you do this to often you will run out of high end smithing stones FAST and will be hurting yourself in the end until you can get more of the stones.
I was thinking the same shit bro. Even r1s with greatsword are too slow sometimes and they don’t do near enough damage to be viable, im only 20 STR tho so maybe it’s not too late
Might be a dumb question but when you respec do you get all the runes you spent to get to that level? I would assume so, if not then it'd be kinda stupid.
No it resets your character to its base stats an gives you level up points. Basically every time you level up you put a point into something. So when you respec it gives you all those points back and lets you put them wherever you want
@@name5293 Can i switch to dex and intelligence? i started as a vagabond i notice the stats aren't really that far from eachother when i respec, lowkey wanna rock the moonville
tried this in order to us azur comet to beat radahn, with the infinite fp tear. Quickly diacovered that there's no chance of beating him until after I've beaten the game and maxed out my character. It's F***ing impossible.
I defeated him at 70 level took me 15 tries but after that i upgraded my nightand flame sword to 9+ and melted him with ease in second phase two shotted him
