This info is great for PvP and PvE both, though the numbers will skew differently now that a lot of poise damage numbers are different for each mode of play iirc Have fun making update vids with every patch, where they'll inevitably tweak things for both rational and irrational reasons lol
I really wish someone would make a video about how much poise you need for all hyper armor interactions. An example would be that with 45 poise a standard light attack from a colossal sword will hyperarmor through the light attack from a great sword. Also with 72 poise a standard light attack from a great sword will hyper armor through the light attack from a great sword. Basically looking for data miners to provide a comprehensive list of all hyperarmor interactions without me having to do a whole bunch of tests. If you want an idea for another video, I'd love to see this one!
another fantastic vid, such high quality and your game knowledge is awesome. i feel like im cheating by watching your vids when i go play some pvp. seriously invaluable info that can change the entire way you play the game imo.
Replying so I can get notifications on this, but to my knowledge it has more to do with enemy resistances or whether or not you're going for a combo etc. I run a braggarts roar blood gugs at 54str 45arc and if I can land the r2-->r1 everyone bleeds. Messing around in neutral though it varies wildly and some people get bled in 1-2 hits while others will die from raw dmg before bleeding. Blood loss buildup is 159 at +25 so I'm assuming bc it can vary based on their gear that all my stats into bleed build up are doing something, hopefully..
On a build with high Str/Arcane scaling Occult weapons it's pretty good. Examples would be Warped Axe, Great Mace, Brick Hammer and Giant-Crusher. Prelate's is decent with this setup as well, I guess.
I remember I was in the battle arena as a hoplite build and there was a guy that had the veterans armour (very high poise) and he attempted to use the piercing fang ash of war (that can go through shield defence) on me. As his start up animation happened holding his sword aloft, I poked him out of the animation! I was taken aback as I had thought the high poise would not allow that to happen!
Hi Struggler, awesome video. Would you happen to know how long it takes armor poise to replenish on its own, without using one of the AOW that you mentioned? Thanks!
@@sturmmagnunstein1008 colossal weapons already have bad moveset and damage. By powerstancing them you at least get somewhat respectable damage for their weight.
Hey Struggler VA, I’m a little confused. You mentioned that endure is superarmour, yet I have been staggered whilst using endure. The person used an unsheathe heavy. Apparently attacks that “count as headshots and knockups” can stagger someone even in endure. So evidently the unsheathe heavy counts as a headshot. I would have thought that being top tier superarmour it would have been able to withstand it but evidently not. Perhaps the beginning part of stamp can withstand it!
Theres no way unsheathe heavy is a headshot, it already shits out damage and poise breaks most things. I refuse to believe this out of fear. (although it would make sense) Headshots can break all super armor and hyper armor, headshots are classified as attacks that force animations like backstabs, ripostes, or burst status effect procs. Can you give an example of an attack that knocks up regardless of super armor? Ive tested most ashes of war that knock up against super armor and they all Were unable to break super armor. Another thing i should mention, endure does this weird thing where you cant reapply it until the buff is over. So if you do endure even .00000001 seconds before your previous endure buff runs out, the animation will play but you will be completely vulnerable to any form of stagger, even small weapons. One last thing, there is an animation that triggers when you successfully hit someone with the sweetspot of waves of gold. This animation forces your character to trip and stumble before falling over. Like backstabs and grab animations, waves of gold cant be poised or super armored through, so be careful because gankers will spam this

I’ll upload it now and see if I can post it here. If not it should be up on my channel if you give me a few minutes. I suspect that what has happened is I activated it and reactivated it before the timer was up as you mentioned.

Hey @@StrugglerVA, I wanted to ask in your opinion. Is this stagger caused by an IPE (irregular poise event) or possibly something else? ru-vid.comN59mwpsrAjI?si=2BpRKGZwfVYePL7B The IPE would make sense with the headshot due to the positioning of the hit box (even though looking closely it hits my shoulder! ?) but seeing as Endure doesn’t even use the poise formula, I’m confused as it cannot be poise broken. Summed up simply, do you think it’s a glitch or was my timing for activating the second endure off as you mentioned above? I’ve personally found endure to not be worth doing in the arena.
