full disclosure: I hate fromsoft games, I beat Dark Souls 3, and Sekiro and they were awful. I greatly disliked them. I told chat if I reached a monetary goal I would play this game. I am now a large fan of Elden Ring mostly because it doesn't play like a normal Fromsoft game. I am having a rather fun time. All the way to the end. And frankly, I didn't want to jump on the Elden Ring bandwagon, if I did, this series would've come out sooner.
May I ask what you find different about Elden Ring? I didn’t really find a huge difference between DS and ER (in terms of gameplay), other than ER being larger and more colorful.
@@blegoin2662 The main thing that’s different is the approach to difficulty. While most of the mechanics are similar to Ds3 if you come up against a difficulty wall you are forced to brute force it due to the linear nature of the game. In Elden Ring there is always something else to explore or do to get more powerful so you can come back to that difficulty wall later.
Fia is great because it's like a universal reaction of just suffering when you get to her, being suspicious, finally letting her hug you, being like I don't wanna go, and then finally being like... You know, it's not so bad, I wanna go kill a big monster. Fia is the emotional support Fromsoft game players always needed to inspire them to go back and die 100 more times.

@@lag00n54 i know these things. I seriously think certain moves were made to force you to use Torrent. Like the dragons spreading fire thats near impossible to avoid on foot
Dark Souls 3, Sekiro and Bloodborne are all better than Elden Ring. Just because Elden Ring is more accessible and beginner friendly it doesnt make it better.
Sadly the first 50 sec of this videos is why I cant watch JFJ streams... people backseat way to much. Keep going strong JFJ. Your content is amazing and you impress me being able to stand it as well as you do.
Thankfully tho, he turned off donations and the mods make sure everyone adheres to the code word. Ive only finished the first vod, but so far there have been almost no backseating.

@Jaques Blom from soft has at least two major development teams working at anyone time. It’s how they released bloodborne and ds3 within a year of each other and how they developed sekiro and elden ring at the same time. So this next game was likely being worked on by the sekiro team while the other team was finishing up elden ring.

I'm glad I was here from the start of the journey to the end, it was fantastic and there's always a nice feeling watching someone do a first play through of a game
Biggest tip you could give anyone playing this is don’t panic roll and learn to focus on the movements of an enemy so you can easier dodge when the attack is actually coming
You know, there was this glitch where during the Radahn fight you could kind of Skyrim your way up a mountain, and if Radahn follows you, he’ll fall off and die of fall damage. It might still be in the game, I’m not sure.
It's been patched, but there is an alternate glitch where you can get Radahn to land in the water by the coast when he comes down with his "comet" move, insta killing him. Although that may also be patched, but I don't think it has been yet. You can always just run around summoning npcs anyway and not fight him yourself 🤷♂️
I find myself returning to this series of videos very often, even a year after, it's such a joy to see J on a literal whole journey to become elden lord, thanks J, love your videos and commentary. Also play more god hand

Having two cats it’s nice especially when you can’t give them all the attention all the time, it’s very cute to see them grow and have a dynamic together, also as on owner of a black, they are bad luck but they are great company

Oof came back to watch this video and see if he somehow gave away how he dual wielded the Cestus because I could not for the life of me figure that shit out and no luck. Great video though J keep up the great work!
a friend of mine didn't have the time or disposition to learn the game so he got a mod that gave him maxed out vit, end, mind and unlimited equip load. the thing that did him in though was it didn't grant him infinite poise, so he could be massively inconvenienced by a small room with 5 rats in it just like anyone else
What about the soul series do you not like? I doubt because the difficulty. And i would be amazed if it's because of bad writing or dialogue. Because those are dark souls strong suit. Is it because of the linear design? "Unfair" fights? i'm just confused
It's always a sadistic joy watching two-handers try to deal with rats and dogs. Just waiting for an attack with a shield up stuns them and opens them up for a perfect one handed shot, even better now in Elden Ring with the new counter attacks
Hey, I'm going to help out a lot. Pineapples and peach tea. Talismans help out a lot with build making. If you want to use a spear or Halberd, use the spear talisman which boosts counter damage by 15% and serves as this games Leo ring. If you want to have a strength build, you'll need a health talisman, an equip load, endurance, and health increasing ring to boost those stats up. Also, I hope I don't spoil this for you but: The Greatsword is in a different location. I'll give you a hint to where it is. I am a place full of plague. But I am also a trace of history and Prague. My soil is the color red, I have mushrooms everywhere, and there are happy, ginormous animals there. Hope that helps.
only thing about not attacking characters is that if they sell things. you can kill them then use an absoluton in a specific place to bring them back. but that's IT. it also makes anyone you've pissed off not pissed off anymore. but you have to not kill them if they're not a vendor.
out of pure curiosity, how many did the mods have to kick and/or ban during the course of these streams due to people not knowing when to shut up with spoilers and backseating?
