And so it was the two lords, equal in both might and majesty slew one another. Their ashes forever mingling with the magics they once wielded. Their battle relived to this day in every duel between sorcerers. So has it always been.
@@ElJayEmCee “aye mate, I witnessed it with me own eyes. The magic they used is on god tier level. For a second I thought the ground was explodin. After it ended, it sparked something in me. So i put down me sword and shield, and started on this staff. This staff in particular was created during this fight.” Adventurer: “nice staff, but wut happen to the two mages?” “I wouldn’t call them mages, in fact I don even think they are human at all, legend say the gods come to this plain to have a battle to decide the victor, for the seat of Elden Lord.”
I like this guy's build. Bloodhound Step + Phalanx lets you play so aggressively. I dunno about that Rancor and Collapsing Stars though. I've tried using collapsing stars to pull dudes off ledges before but it's never worked for me. I should try it in pvp.
Rancour's good against most pure melee builds, their delayed movement and stagger creates a lot of opportunities for your own aggression or retreat. Only problem I see with it is its hybrid faith scaling, which doesn't really matter if you're only using it as utility
Honestly we faith/intelligence builds got it pretty good this time around. We got the sword of night and flame, a ton of utility spells, and the best staff scaling with the prince of death's staff. I mainly do it to have the best of both worlds though
In my opinion, if you're looking at just purely viability and combat effectiveness, none of the Necromancy or Gravity magic is good in PvP. The only necromancy worth casting in PvP is Fia's Mist, as a potential "death blight" build, because that cloud is massive when you charge cast it. Explosive Ghost Flame is also okay, but it's got so much endlag that you'll be easily punished for casting it. But if we ignore all that, basically all the necromancy and gravity spell look really cool, and would fit well into a cosplay build. (except meteorite and meteorite of astel, those are unusable).
@@rubles3143 ancient death rancor is actually pretty pvp viable. It's fire and forget and tracks for a long time allowing for set up with terra magicus or anything else you might want to get out
@@calamari3064 if it's got better homing than it's lesser variant, then I'd say I agree, but from what I tested you can just roll through the skull projectiles of the lesser one and they all fly into the ground instantly. I'll keep it in mind though, and test it in the future. I'm just still salty that Tibia's Summons is so unusable in PvP, I wanted to summon skeleton minions to defend me.
@@ElJayEmCee I'm planing on buying elden ring and playing mage do you know what's your opponent's set name?? I'd really appreciate it if you'd tell me.
That's the classic quick step soul mass build from ds3. But its easier to do now because you don't need to two hand a dagger. The idea is to quick step past your oppinent while they're locked in an attack animation so the soul mass hits them. Some people didn't even use quick step. They just turned and rolled.
@@drev6572 No is not, Quickstep is in the game and they are very different. If you don’t know then don’t assume, i am clarifying this so people don’t look for the incorrect Ash of War.
1:30 does anyone know what spell the enemy used here? How did they summon a bunch of black skulls? This spell doesn't seem to be on the elden ring wiki
ngl this battle was epic af i don't play mage but watching 2 mages fighting eachother looked like some type of final fantasy cinematic kinda makes me want to make a build for one
What sword was he using with the bloodhound steps? I’m extremely new to anything darksouls related but I kinda want to yoink his sword seems like a fun play style haha
@@yougotbaited3928 I got the moonveil katana it looked like a rapier. Saw some other comments on this video and I think its Rogier’s Rapier for anyone else wondering
Love to see an arcane mage fight those endgame spells are so op in pvp then add on some of those faith spells with it. Saw a guy wipe another off the map, him running away dodging didnt help him at all.
And here I am with a none meta melee build, knowing that I would have to hide behind a rock for him to get bored of casting spells and either come at me or leave.
I can't really tell but it looks like the opponent is using moonveil with lusat's staff and from my understanding neither of those can take an ash of war. So how does he also have bloodhound step as well?
Moonveil damage really isnˋt ok. The damage alone would be enough but it is also the fastest weapon art and staggers like hell. It eats through 90 poise easily.
@@BigHomieSenpai I think the speed should stay somewhat the same, it's one of the only fast options mages have, but yeah def the stagger and damage especially need to not be so oppressive
@@angelgutierrez9581 I agree but even some nerfing should make the stagger available to use on mid and low poise opponents. I really understood why Moonveil was so fun after a few invasions lol!
Moonveil is great for Int builds since it scales more off of Int than anything else, and its ash of war is an improved version of the already great Unsheath skill a lot of Katanas have. I run it on my character and it allowed me to spec out of dexterity and go full Int while still maintaining my spellblade game style.
Damn i want to play this game but I'm currently at my endpoint in getting a job if i Miss this chance i don't know when I'll get it again so I'll control my urge.
I found a dude named magic = stonk rocking the same magic build. bloodhound step double antspur bleed made the fight last less than 20sec powerstancing rapier is dirty AF
This build is very lengthy to get. Not to mention having to find the scrolls for it. Doing this build is a slow process. All worth the grind if you progress in the story. That’s the only way you get higher tier spells like these. More towards the endgame
