Backhand Blade bar none is the best Dex weapon and easily top 3 weapon in the DLC. Scales to S with Keen. With duel wield, the R2 charge hits like a Strength weapon. The charge sends bosses to their knees with serious poise damage. The R1 takes little stamina. You can spam it until your finger falls off, and still have plenty stamina bar left. Great AOE too. The running R1s and R2s are also fantastic at covering a lot of space. The weapon reminds me of the Sellsword Twinblades in Dark Souls 3. That weapon trivialized DS3 and was an absolute blast to use. Fingers crossed they don’t nerf my Backhand Blades.
Ansbach scythe is on point too...I never see it on a list but is has so much sauce...better than bloodhound in some ways...his incantation chains with his weapon combo too
I've tried all of the weapons mentioned in the vid, except the last one cause I haven't got to messmer yet, and I have to say, each of them felt like a downgrade to the backhand blade. At +25 with keen scaling it has S scaling in dex, ash of war doesnt deal a lot of damage but it has stupid s that put you right behind your enemy. I'm having a lot of fun with them + bloodflame blade and the physick that coats your character in oil.
If you pair it with the Shard of Alexander and the Spear talisman the ash does tremendous damage, assuming you're dodging during an enemy attack sequence.
9:10 The first time I’ve heard you get THIS excited! 🤣Understandably so, that spear looks so fun! I am doing a strength build now, since I love the Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword, but that’s next on my list.
I used my Cold Milady the other day to clear the Dragon Pit and now noticed it does 999 damage... At that speed popping GS damage is hype as hell. Apparently my Rellanas sword does 1400 damage so even more 🥹
Backhand Blades (including the both Cirques) do not come with innate bleed, but that's not necessary at all. Personally I have been demolishing the DLC with the Backhand Blade. Although it scales extremely well with Dex it also gives an A scaling with the Heavy Infusion. The ash of war it comes with (Blind Spot) is an insane dodge with a lot of i-frames, does great damage, costs only 9fp, and almost always hits enemies in the back, dealing additional damage. When paired with the Shard of Alexander and Spear Talisman (Blind Spot does piercing damage on the Backhand blade, but not cirque), I was two-shotting the black knights at blessing 4
@@Zeus-xf9rj Yeah i hate when the cool stuff isn't good. That why i loved moonveil and rivers of blood so much cause when the game first came out i was just shredding everything in pvp and pve. Day 1 moonveil stance broke in 2 hits it was so amazing. Miss those days
@@temporarilyanon8779 Like the fact that this night katana only scales with Dex and doesn’t scale with arcane for more blood lose is sad. All that work just to go back the same builds I had. I was hoping when they nerf everything the new weapons would be op and encourage us to explore and find them but guess not
Nice showcase! And good testing arena too. Curious your thoughts on Backhand Blade. Would you choose Falx over that. Both AoW are great but the blind spot on backhand is just so nice for dancing around enemies
Currently watching your bloodborne guides right now man 😂👍 it’s my first souls game I’ve ever played. You’re a life saver. Eventually I’ll be watching all your other walkthroughs
I just spent so long beating that boss and turned in his remembrance for the spear. Didn’t think about using it until now. It may be my weapon for the rest of the dlc.
Hey hear me out the Falx is the best dex sword hands down especially against regular enemies, and just as you mentioned the bleed is guaranteed oh man I’m enjoying it so much. Shot out to u CB
Well I guess I’m buying the spear when I get back on tomorrow. Boss is a nightmare to get down if you aren’t beefed up with the new scadtree buffs. Used bleeds on him with a mimic tear and he does melt like butter just gotta dodge a lot
I'm in the minority no doubt but I'm not a fan of Messmer"s spear. The weapon skill just takes too long to wind up leaving you vulnerable. Love Rakasha"s katana though, weed cutter is a great skill.
Claws of Night were INSANE for me paired with shard of Alexander and Smithscript Talisman. The ash of war was the only thing I used against the final boss and it melted him. Essentially a shotgun at close range
Can you cover individual dual world weapons I wanna see what your take is with the Death Knights twin axes. I am thinking of respecing into Dragon cult str/faith if it is faith with those.
@@slimdiggity9188 nagakiba weighs 7.. the lightest great katana weighs 9. You can one hand the great katana with 12 strength but need 18 for nagakiba.. doesn't make sense
Sword of night looks super cool but i think its garbage. No stagger, low bleed, slow, low range, no mobility, low damage overall. But god damn it l2 and r2 looks super cool. Wasted design
Very nice love dex builds and weapons. They might not break enemy stance as much as strength but I just love the fast movements and agility of dex weapons. Also I love katanas
I love the backhand blade. The ash of dodging in and backstacb weak points its so fun and amazing. Great K are kinda booring- for me. Cant wait to try nr 1 and 5 from the list😊
I know Pokey weapons tend to be Dexterity Weapons, but it sucks that Messmers Spear requires so much Dexterity. From a build perspective it doesn't make sense. Fire Scales with Strength or in the Incantations they scale with Faith. I really wanted his spear for my Pyromancer build but I don't have the Dexterity. Messmer uses Fire Incantations. I am pretty bummed about that, dunno what I'm gonna do. Had the same issues with Dragon Kings Cragblade and Bolt of Gransax, their crazy high Dex requirements forces a split build if you want to run the coolest Lightning Weapons with Lightning Incantations, they should have lowered the requirements in Dexterity and split it evenly with Faith, made the scaling even between the two as well.
I would argue Milady is the best dex weapon in the game, i spam its heavy attack because it hits 4 times in like under half a second, so for no FP im triggering rottensword insignia and millicents prosthesis faster than any other weapon inlcuding ash of wars like double slash. Put bloodhound step on it, and a seal/staff in your left hand, and you have the fastest combos plus the best movement along with long range attacks on your seal/staff
I think t would've made way more sense for the dragon hunter's katana aow to be on Rakshasa's instead, not only because of effects and theme, but because the weed cutter aow seems more fitting for a quality weapon
Just casually throwing out how good the dryleaf arts are if specced properly. SOOO much fun to use too as they make FromSoft content actually intuitive.
The spear is cool because you can spec into the ash of war or the spear throws with talismans so you have some cool game play options. The whole combo is too long for most bosses, but all the bosses give good chances for the first L2.

Does anyone know what happens if you start the dlc and then go new game+??? Will you lose progress and access to it or will you keep access to the dlc?
So happy they added a falx to the game. They're one of my favorite weapons irl. Should honestly do more dmg through shields considering they gave romans some difficulty in rl
I want that Mesmer wep omg. So I tried going into the DLC with rivers of blood and a Nagakiba...im absolutely miserable. I can't kill anything...has anyone tried a more battlemage build with a moonveil or Darkmoon GS? any luck? or do i just go str/faith and bonk stagger everything
I went in with a quality/int build (80int 35dex 35str) and i haven’t had a ton of trouble, a lot of the weapons scale with magic and faith so i added 17 faith and I’m able to use a ton of stuff for different situations. Rellanas twinblades, magic smith script hammer, and that black night hammer are carrying me rn
I also went in with rivers of blood and didn’t have any issues, for the most part. Maybe try gain some more scadutree fragments? Full disclosure though, I’m lvl 300 on ng+3. I’ve since change my build to use the new star lined sword katana, which makes use of int and dex, like moonveil and it’s been a blast so far.
The Claws of Night are my favorite weapons I've found so far. Did the quest to get Sword of Night but I enjoyed the Claws so much more for it's range abilities.
IMPENETRABLE THORNS ARE THE GOAT, Radahn who. Like seriously, use it at medium to close range, so that all the thorns hit. It does crazy poise and damage. The build: any staff, 25 int, 50 faith, radagon icon, graven mass talisman, magic tear, winged tear (for light roll) plus mimic tear (add a weapon to your inventory, so that mimic isn't just hitting Radahn with the staff). Tip for the meteor he does at about 25% health, just run to the side of the arena, it won't hit you. Hope this helped.
