The first time I played Elden Ring (and a souls) I didn't know what to do, where to go, or anything at all. I found one of your builds and decided to follow the build and look for everything while I played. Thanks to YOU I had an amazing experience playing Elden Ring, I still try all of your builds. Cheers from Mexico
One quick thought on the scavengers curved sword build- Historically it was a jump attack build due to the Claw talisman and Raptor's Black Feathers providing a 25% dmg boost, however we now have Ledas Armor and Lacerating Crossed-Tree talisman, which together provide 25% for the running 4-hit combo. You can run it either way now. Personally I prefer the dash moveset to the jumping.
Thanks mate, lots of ideas to ruminate on. My first run was on NG7 around Level 300 so I could lots of different weapons and I got my backside handed to me on a plate! Lol! Gave up in the end, picked up a few weapons and went on to NG8 in the base game. Beat the DLC on NG2, just, and now I'm playing with a new build and I find the DLC far easier.
Just saying, something like a great katana or any great weapon that can use blood tax, raksasha set+white mask, any good seal for buffs, godskin talisman+miliscents+blood talisman+anything else you prefer with crimson sucking tear+blood buff tear gives you a build that lets you heal up any damage quickly and damn good damage along with bleed procs. I'm 220 so I soft capped arc at 45, 60 vig, 20 mind, 35 end, 70 str, then toss enough in faith for buffs and rest in dex. Pretty fun unique life steal build Oh and toss on malenia rune for more hp regain chance
i can tell you that right now NG+10 using Rakasha's armor (to get the extrta dmg) everything 2 shots in the best scenario or 1 shots if it is charged attack
@@AverageGamerMatt I wish at Rennala you could simply stop at a certain level and she'd "bank" your remaining earned Runes. I would like to try 150 pvp but every time I do the PVE I get frustrated fast and quickly decide to ditch the 150 and go further lol. (the bosses in the way stop me from getting some of the upgrades I'd like for pvp) Ultimately I bought the game for PVE so that dictates how I level.
Still had a lot of success with mohgwyn's sacred spear even after the nerfs. Surprised Dark Moon Greatsword is still doing so well, it lost like 20% on the projectiles.
Thanks for the share man. Honorable mention against the LAST BOSS: Antspur Sting Blade + Black Shield (indomitable shield) Sacred Infused + Shield talisman + Two Turtle Talisman + Heaviest Armor possible + Black Flame Protection (or Golden Vow). I won against Mother f*ck*ng Consort Radahn in 3 tries. Before, I tried all build i could (LV 200), particulary Moonveil, Dark Moon blade, Comets and Ice Spear, 50 times at least. For Strengh Builds, Counter attacks based strat with very heavy shield and a Spear are very efficient. and the Enormous Ruin Blade still works actually :D. And, I prefere to use Radagon sacred seal instead powering up attack damage, more easy to use (espacially big thunder incantations). Thunder Lance stills very good two.
It only does DLC+ once, if you do the dlc and don’t beat consort radahn it doesn’t go up further, so I played on NG+ Screwed up moored quest and wanted his branch so just finished the game, started NG+2 and everything’s the same 😎
I’d say you pretty much hit the meta on the head with this video Matt! Nothing wrong with that :). Just one pointer - savage lions claw is stronger if you keep Freyas Greatsword in the offhand. Awesome job. Keep up the good work!
I actually have a really good build for you to try ..... im currently in nw+4 I'm using fingerprint stone shield with mohg spear (you can change mogh spear to any good bleed spear .... like pike spear since it's the longest spear in the game and you can give it blood tax ash of war) with high arc / strength build the talismans for this build is both of millicent quest talismans + shard of alexander + two headed turtle talisman it's a fun build and it can destroy and tank most of the bosses including radahn
Use blood sword lance instead when shield poking bosses. Talismans can vary depending on the boss you’re fighting, but shield talisman is a must for the build. Heavy armor with white mask. Doesn’t matter if you’re heavy rolling, you’ll be an absolute tank. Just watch out for grab attacks.
Beastman's Curved Swords outdo Scavengers in a STR/ARC soft split and the higher the levels the more the gap widens. Though Gargoyles twin blades paired get highest jump bleed strat.
@@Justsomedude7 at 125-150 the scavs are still best DPS. At high levels bandits have the highest AR in Blood with 80 STR, DEX & ARC. Beastmen are great between about 165-200.
@@FirstOdin420 it is very difficult. Congrats btw! 🤘 Anyone that beats it on NG+7 will likely think the base game is the easiest game ever played lol myself included.
@TheKingofRedLightning Makes the base game feel like a breeze, exactly. Love the content. I hope I speak for the rest of the ER community in saying thanks for everything.
DUUUUUDE. Two-handed sword talisman DOES NOT BUFF AOW DAMAGE. If you're spamming AoW (like that savage lion's claw build), you should NOT run it. If you're running a build that uses AoW and normal charged heavies, sure, because then if you don't fully charge the heavy, you still get the benefit, unlike the axe talisman. But people keep using builds that include the two-hand talisman and either seem to not understand this, or just leave it out, and it's super important, because I, for one, assumed it also buffed AoW damage, and it absolutely does not.
@@NPC_maga I know lol I run it because most situations you’ll use Bloodfiend’s charged attacks too. It’s very useful for any regular hits. I was just showcasing the ash.
I really enjoy your work. The 3-Part Moonveil-Night Comet build very much improved the game for me. :) Question: Are you doing builds over on IGN? The voice and delivery sound exactly the same to me.
Matt I thought what happens is if you clear the dlc on NG and then clear the dlc again until you get to NG7, the boss hp get increased per NG cycle. PCR for example has 46 000HP on NG and then if you clear again until you reach NG7 he'll have 70 000HP on NG7 Journey 8. I don't think you have to get to Journey 16 to get his HP to 70 000.
@@AndrewAung1992 you can do it that way. But if you start at NG+7 it’ll scale higher to begin with, then slightly increase with each NG+ in DLC. Example: Hippo on NG base = 35k HP NG+7 first run DLC hippo = 55k HP NG+7 base + DLC hippo = 67k HP.
@@AverageGamerMatt Yeah see I never start the dlc at NG7. I always make sure to start a new game and work my way there from NG to NG7. So I know for a fact that PCR will have 70 000HP on all my NG7 runs. Soon as I heard about the dlc plus system I deleted all my builds now I only have one build for all my NG7 runs, which I started at NG making sure to clear the dlc once at each NG cycle.
@@AverageGamerMatt Yeah I saw that too. Bro you're brave btw for doing NG7 at 150 currently I am running a 200 build to NG7. Which will be hard enough, can't imagine what is like at 150 seems like a pain lmao.
I managed to transition phase Mesmer with 4 jump attacks with bandits curved swords with 99 arcane/dex and sepuku, Golden vow, howl of shabriri, white mask, feather chest piece as well as Raksashas gloves and boots for an additional 4% damage , Millicents prosthesis rotten wing sword insignia, jump attack talisman and lord of blood’s exultation all this in NG+17 with 14 scadoodle tree fragments (this was my first DLC playthrough on a level 450ish character) every boss has been a breeze in terms of damage I can deal but I get almost 1 shot most of the cases due to weak armor defensive stats and negative stats like howl of shabriri which makes me take 30% more damage
Possibly stupid question on the Gargoyle Twinblade build. Since the twinblade is being wielded Two-Handed, wouldn't the Two-Handed Talisman be better than the Rotten-winged? If he was dual wielding, then of course Rotten Winged would be better.
@@clint9685 I do it because a lot of the successive buffs stacks well together (and I’m usually hitting with twinblades fast) But talisman for talisman two handed is 2% better.
So wait sacred blade will work with shot of Alexander because I just heard from another video today of them saying all holy ashes of war do not get affected by shard of Alexander
Just to confirm, if you start the DLC on NG+7 basegame, then the DLC will start at NG+7 difficulty but then going on the next New Game plus cycle the basegame will still be NG+7 difficulty but the DLC will be NG+8..? Then in retrospect starting a newgame cycle on a new character will have both basegame and DLC at NG level difficulty and if scaled to NG+7 both base game and DLC will hit max scaling..?
@@Oninzuka_Badjula so I did the math a bit wrong in this video (which will be corrected in part 2 this Sunday). So there’s NG+7 into DLC first time, then DLC+. This means journey 9 is now max, or if you go into DLC on the first run then by the time you get to NG+7 everything will be at its highest HP & damage. I had assumed since it went up round 2 it would continue, but it stops at DLC+. This is all built around the game knowing the second DLC journey you have all the fragments by then. Meaning NG+7 + DLC+ is Max scaling. Hope that helps lol
@@AverageGamerMatt so DLC+ has its own ? My first playthrough for the DLC was on NG+6 in the base game, so does this mean that bosses will still grow stronger in the DLC when I am on my 14th base game run ?
@@sheebs1987 so I mentioned this in comments, I was confused about the scaling as well (it’ll be corrected in my next video). It’s NG+7 + DLC+ so journey 9 is max with 2nd run into DLC.
My first time thru the DLC was with my intelligence character, and to my surprise it was not Death’s Poker, not Darkmoon Greatsword, not even Night Comet that got me through it, it was Carian Slicer. The DPS is just nuts and you only need the smallest punish windows to melt off a few thousand hp, especially now with Beloved Stardust. Curious how it performs on NG+7 (I don’t have any NG+7 characters)
@jasonjj1898 i can no hit against commander gaius but still find it more entertaining to just run starfists+endure due to my skill issue on every other boss💀
Does the new game thing apply on first dlc playthrough? Cause i started on ng +5 😂 explains so much. I kmew itd be harder but looks like its quite a jump
It’ll scale with NG+5 when you go in. It scales with whatever NG+ cycle you’re in. Then on top of that each DLC run adds more boss HP and damage. Example: Base Hippo around 35-40k HP NG+7 base game Hippo 54k HP NG+7 + NG+7 DLC Hippo 67k. Hope that helps!
@TheKingofRedLightning thought so 🤣 idk why I didn't think of that on the first couple runs. I started thinking about it on my current run. Cause that ng +7 modifier on the dlc is no joke. Add in the dlc modifier and I'm a scrub again. I love it.
@@cubanmodz scavs have the highest DPS between 125-150 on occult, because you don’t have to split stats. At max level, gargoyle’s and bandits have the highest blood affinity DPS.
iirc the axe talisman boosts the sword part of the moonlight greatsword but no the shockwave but i think godfreys icon does not boost the shockwave or does it?
@@lharsay the DLC+ is the same as the base game. It goes up 7 times in total. But base game impacts DLC HP & damage too. So you effectively can get NG+7 + NG+7. Brutal lol
@@AverageGamerMatt It's a separate one time increase. I did the DLC twice on a NG+7 character, it was more upscaled and the enemies dropped more runes for the second time. When you play through the DLC for the first time you might notice that early enemies get more hp in the later zones. For example the bloodfiends in the Fissure have nearly twice the health compared to the ones on the Gravesite Plain. On DLC+ however they all have equal health upscaled to the maximum as the game assumes you have lvl20 blessing.
@@lharsay correct, but the DLC also seems to go up further as well, although I haven’t tested it yet past DLC+. Either way it’s very challenging on NG+7. Luckily radahn maxes out at only 4k more in total from base NG+7. Rellana was very difficult though.
@@dsaBOSS honestly I didn’t like it that much lol for the tree for sure. For other bosses it fell off for me. It’s very good but it relies on poise damage a bit, which is kinda useless on NG+7 since they have more poise. For example rellana has 120 base & over 160 on NG+7.
i have 99 faith but i get 2500-3000 damage only on blasphemous blade while using all of the mentioned talismans except for fire scorpion charm , why is that so ?
Hey quick question to everyone in the comment section. I play on xbox as well and I would love to have one character on max lvl but I dont want to farm for dozens of hours. Anyone else looking to do so? Maybe we could help each other out? Please note that so far I have never played in coop.
I use scavengers bleed and blasphemous build with dragon lighting at level 230 for NG+7 so I can switch up with what I need for bosses cuz DLC NG+7 is insane and having faith/arcane build for NG+7 has carried me
@@AverageGamerMatt and oh my after running the DLC a couple times on NG+7, going on my other character and running it through on NG+ oh my it is such a breeze
@@christopherkimmeth2626 bandits have the highest DPS (and AR in blood affinity) at 80 STR, Dex & arcane. Grossmesser’s & gargoyle twinblades are 2nd. Peelers are good, but at meta levels they’re outclassed by the scavenger curved swords too.
Someone please tell me why the scavenger swords are better than the bandit’s? I have a pair of each but I hear ppl saying scavenger sword on top but the bandit has better dmg. What makes the bandit worst? Also I’m NG+8 so I should have max dmg scaling
If you’re a high level bandits are best. At lower levels (125-150) scavs have the highest DPS. This is because you can put them on occult, invest in only one damage stat & get insane physical damage in between procs.
I took my lev 500 character into dlc so I wouldn’t have to respec when trying different weapons, I was on journey 7 and I couldn’t believe how difficult the dlc was😂, did 3 runs on that same character, finally started a run on journey 2 and OH MY GOD, it was so much easier! Wish I would have started on that account lol
@@blurr5582 basically because of meta levels. You don’t have to split stats. With the physical damage the DPS is higher with the Scavs in the 125-150 range.
Probably not the best but I love anvil hammer so much it has my favorite move the great sword spin slash running r2 it has a cool moveset cr2 hits like a truck fire damage plus it’s a giant bonk stick I love me a good bonk stick
Spear build isn’t going to cut it in NG+7 at RL 150 unless it’s shield poke lol this is what works. I rebuilt them for defense as well to sustain longer boss battles. Edit: if you want variety check out my fun build lists. Lots of new builds on NG+ covering a lot of the DLC weapons.
this is ng+7, a lot of build variety falls off a cliff at this level of scaling. If you want the most variety, you can stick with base game - journey 3 or 4, afterwhich, a lot of variety falls off because you need to start stacking a tonne of damage to even remotely deal with some of the bosses.
