*As of patch 1.03 there is a new NPC added to Jarburg with his own questline. If you act like a murder hobo in the new patch you will not be able to do his quest. His quest chain culminates in a talisman that increases throwing item damage so it's largely inconsequential but it's worth pointing out. It does not affect platinum in any way.* This episode we wrap up the final things we have left in Liurnia and prepare to head down into the underground zones! While there were no platinum related items, we did grab a very nice small shield that provides increased resistances against all ailments which I would suggest you make your primary parry shield since those benefits persist while it's on your back.

You might want to let ppl know in the description that the NPC Jar’Bairn was added after the 1.03 patch so don’t just go killing all the jars in Jarburg just in case they want to complete his quest.

Love the videos. Just wanted to let everyone know in jarburg since the patch when I killed the jars there is a new npc that's there and disappears if you kill any of the jars. Also if you rest at several nearby graces it will go to an infinite loading screen and you can't seem to atone either because it says you don't need absolution. Even attacked a merchant and then sought absolution. Hopefully this gets patched might not be a big deal and affect the platinum but just a heads up on this bug.

DO NOT!! Do not take out all the pots in jarburg. In fact, don’t hit any! There’s a quest with the little pot that you’ll lose if you do this! I did that in my original playthrough and lost his Quest line. Now I’m following along for my NG+1 and I have his quest line due to not hitting any pots!

I kind of thought something was up because in my play through, when Cowboy said to kill all of the pots, I came to one house and I heard the dialogue, "not only have you broke my body, but you cracked my heart." Something along those lines.

PSA- Unlike other NPC’s where you can exhaust their dialogue by continuing to talk to them, Jar Bairn is different. You must rest at the grace and come back to exhaust Bairn’s dialogue. Last part of dialogue is when Bairn is asleep and dreaming saying “please don’t break us up”.

For all the quality/strength builds that want to use some magic, the beast incantations you get from the Beast Clergyman are pretty good and require very minimal Faith investment. The Clawmark seal you get also boosts their potency and scales with Strength. It’s nice to have a few ranged options to round out your build.

im doing first playrhough with this walkthrough too. I know playing it blind is the best experience, but the fact that I only get about 1 hour a night to play means the walkthrough is the way better experience. I just dont have the time to explore and experiment in games like i used too

Just wanted to leave a big tip! If you enchant your blade with holy for death birds, you’ll see that the fights are going to be a helluva a lot easier. Figured we will come across a lot more but definitely helped with the big death bird!

So, I was fighting the big one in the Liuarnia lake to the east of the academy island, and at about half the health it just randomly died without me doing anything. I'd lured it closer to the dryland to the west of where it spawns, so I don't know if going outside its spawn point's certain range will do that to it, but definitely a weird one.

24:25 if you have patch 1.0.3 don’t kill any pot people, as it’s been reported that Jar-Bairn won’t talk to you and this will affect Alexander’s quest. I’m not 100% sure on this, but I played it safe and didn’t kill any Jars in Jarburg.

For the wizard when he goes upstairs, if you wait by the entrance right after the lift, he will start patrolling right past you, I took that opportunity to finish him before he even starts to run, I hope that helps someone

When chasing the invader mage in the library, if your having issues with the last part, use a throwing dagger/knife/shard as he pulls up his bow and it will give you plenty of time to walk toward him while throwing them. He won’t run that was and you can slaughter him easier

I ended up poking my head in-and-out after coming up elevator to 3rd floor. Little bugger couldn't stand it and slowly came into the alcove there to get a nice Moonviel shellacking. One complaint though to the game makers - he shot so many spells into the walls trying to get at me it's like they equipped him with 40 bottles of +20 blue tears. FFS! *waah*

For Preceptor Miriam, just stay in the room at the top of the 2nd elevator. Miriam will either come to you and not teleport or you can use ranged weapons. Found this out after loosing 20k runes lol

You can interrupt the “pollination” attack from the flowers with any amount of fire damage. They writhe in pain like the hand monsters.

They really don't like fire in general. But they aren't exactly weak to fire damage, they just have low resistance to its proc. Set them on fire, wait till it goes out, repeat. Spamming fire (arrows, at least) doesn't do more damage than using reg arrows after proc

That little flower thingy they drop is good for the perfumer crafting, nice little farm spot (I'm doing it as 60+ INT mage with Azur's Comet and the Royal Scepter +6 atm.)

The trick with that invader in the study hall is to not run after him but use the stairwell for cover while nailing him with arrows. After a certain amount of damage, he'll move to his next spot, but you can easily then clean up the other guys and then do the same thing when getting near him again. Use cover and take him down from a distance.

For the teleporting wizard he is WAY easier if you take the tower slower (killing the yard trash) and use a bow or crossbow. You can use cover to avoid his spells, and nail him when he is casting.

Quick tip on Gurranq, if you're a faithboy one swarm of flies was enough to trigger his dialog. Also, in the Carian Study, I did notice that on the first lift there's a spot where you can jump off and there's water below with three big handsies waiting to pounce. I just said Nope and went back to the lift. 🤣

In the study hall if anyone is having trouble with the mage I use a bow an poison arrows the arrows interrupt his magic attack 4 to 5 poison arrows will cause poison to start eating away at his health rinse an repeat until death

Rot arrows for any on NG+ are even better, but still works exactly like harryesq said, it will interrupt some of his casts making it easier to close the gap. On my first play through i tossed on a dagger with quickstep, spammed it, got close and smacked his cheeks.

Darts are good at finishing that intruder off in the mage tower bit towards the end of the video. I had spell parry on my char but my partner didn't on hers. She struggled, I took over and thought of using the darts in her quick slot and it worked!

22:00 so there is an additional questline added in update 1.03 in jarburg village. I recommend NOT attacking them at this village. if you do by mistake go to the church of vows. all the flowers are respawnable...

Re: The Ball Bearing Hunters, pop a Rune Arc and memorize the Electrify Armament spell; They are weak to Lightning damage, and embuing either your Bloodhound's Fang or Black Knight polearm will help exponentially with taking him down if you're having difficulty! ✌🏻

As for consumables go most of the flowers do re-spawn but not the really rare ones like Arteria leaf and Miquella's Lily.Oddly I've mostly been following along and I have 14 cracked pot and 6 ritual ones. I think they are all of the npc merchants along the way.

Have you found the Lord of the traders? A video I've seen has shown a lot of frenzy around these guys, would maybe suggest a DLC with a frenzy theme could be centered around the traders.

16:01 The guy invades any night but he invades a little after night started, not in early night. So you need to pass the time until night then rest at the grace again and he is there. You can understand that he will invade if you can not see the turtle guy.

Not sure if it was a bug. But I couldn’t really do damage to him(too low level). I died like 5 times and after I respawned on 6th he wasn’t agro anymore and I got my beast claw

If you're having issues with chasing down Preceptor Miriam on the top floor of the tower you can cheese him by jump shooting him with a bow as he will not teleport away or be able to hit you with his spells.

Yeah Gurranq is SUUUUUPER deadly. It’s unreal. The first time I fought him I was like “wow I didn’t know bosses even got this hard. Holy lord!” Best strat to calm him down: go out through the doors he cannot follow, and just spam ranged attacks. Yer welcome

For Invader fight... i found the best bet was to just take some cover behind a railing so he can still see you but can't hit you, then wait for him to get close enough, roll attack multiple times, despawns. run up to next spawn and do the same. worked like a charm.

For the new players struggling with the deathroot guy, I lured him to the door (he can't get outside, but his attacks will still hit you if you're too close). Wait for him to attack and when you see an opportunity, run up and get a hit in and instantly roll back. Heal up and do this for about another 3 or 4 times and you're good. Hope this helps you too.

Dont hit the pots in Jarburg!! I went to Jarburg. Hit a big pot and I heard "So, this is who you are, coz... You've cracked my heart. Please, don't crack the others.." All the pots started attacking me, so I killed them all. Went to rest at the grace, and got stuck on an infinite black screen. Logged out of the game, loaded back in. Teleported to church to absolve sins, says I cant, so i teleported back and none of the pots are in jarburg anymore and if I rest at a grace, I get an infinite black screen. Don't attack the pots. I'm guessing this is a glitch is due to a new NPC in the area or something. Not sure when this glitch will get fixed, but I may need to start the whole run over if it takes too long for the fix.

@@meat2023 played many soulsborne games, I never kill npcs on purpose in case of quests. Thought they were all hostile here cause it let me target them, but I guess not. Never even saw the npc just heard him. I guess he disappears if you attack the big pot, and the game glitches out. Messes with Diallos' quest too...

post 1.3 jarburg is kinda bugged . if you rest on a grace in Jarburg ,study hall Entrance and Artist's Shack you get stuck into an infinite loop hole.

Tip for Perceptor Miriam; after the second elevator, wait at the entry into the open area, he will loose interest and walk right past the door way, I was able to sneak up on him easily.

In the first lift you can jump into a window seal that has 3 of those hand thingies on walls. Are they just random or is there a spot that you can go to that they are waiting to attack you?

Don't hurt the jars in jarsburg, or you will miss out on the new kid jar storyline, this walkthrough is from before 1.03 patch Edit: as of 1.04 you can get Absolution for killing the jars at the church of vows by using celestial dew

This happened to me. I didn't realize there was an npc so I was just murdering pot people and I saw the little message from him as he died. 😔 I have dew but the church says "you don't need atonement" so I guess it's permanent?

Ya I think it's bugged too, I killed the pots lol not CBs fault, but from needs to make sure all NPCs are in the game before anything. That the the beast guy glitched out on me, beat him til he stopped but I couldn't talk to him and when I reset the area he was gone. Reset again and now i just get "..." from him

Lol so I am following along for the most part to these Walk throughs considering this is my first ever game like this. I usually play God Of War, horizon Zero dawn, AC, GTA (stuff like that) I accident trigger Radhan but that’s the only path I’ve veered off of from taking every site you’ve taken. I enjoy playing though so when I’m waiting on your next video in order to progress in the story and such I just run around and kill everything I can in the areas we have been too already. And Everytime I get to a point where I can level up I do. I am now a level 170 mage and still haven’t made it to the lava area except when we got captured on purpose in the acedemy snd I only went to the plateau once and accidentally hit a grace not thinking and triggered Radhan. But other than that have the maps we’ve collected in the daily walk through videos haha. So am I way to OP now? I mean my spells are destroying everything. The sword of night and flame basically kills everything with one special. I’m about to just start using shorty weapons and armor and only bringing out the big stuff when necessary. Oh and my sword of night and flame is level 10.

That dude at the beginning was hard as hell to just get a little damage on. I hope we done have to face him down fully at any point lol. I had to run out the damn temple just for a breather twice letting him back away from the door then charge in, letting off a fire attack to get him to calm down. This is after 4 deaths lol

TIP: If you're struggling with Gurrang the death eater, after you port in and he's hostile, you can kite him to the front door where he can't get out. He'll dart back and forth and do his best but most attacks will hit nothing but wall allowing you to hit him with magic, thrown weapons or just a long pointy stick

I went to deliver the Deathroot and upon entering the Bestial Sanctum I did not notice Gurranq. Had the option to summon Spirit Ashes and could hear howling. Instead of summoning, I walked outside the Sanctum and around the corner of the building and saw Gurranq howling at the moon. Apparently if it is raining and night time, he will be out there howling at the moon. Funny stuff...but if you advance time to when it is not raining, Gurranq will be in the Sanctum and you can deliver Deathroot and briefly deal with his aggro.

if you have a fast attacking bleed weapon (i did it with moonveil r1spam) you can rush the dude in carian study hall in the first section and get enough hits to proc bleed twice, forcing them straight to the upper section and you can run past/deal with all the lower enemies.

I took out the Beast Clergyman from outside the church with my Longbow+16 (str/dex 33/35) at first with crafted blood arrows. A bit of a waste, I should have tried fire or poison. Afterwards I just used regular arrows. The risk is minimal. You just have to dodge once in a blue moon those magical blades.

Totally forgot about the new NPC in Jarburg so after I finished slaughtering the town, I went to the church of vow for absolution. Upon return to Jarburg, Jar Bairn was waiting and I was able to start his quest.

@@jeremywashington253 Go back and rest at the grace and go back and keep talking to him until you no longer get any new dialogue. At that point you have to progress the volcano manor storyline with Diallos who leaves the manor and goes to Jarburg.

@@final58fant58 You probably know by now, but it sounds like you accidentally killed Jar-bairn. You'll have to wait for NG+. Absolution won't bring back dead npcs.

There is a graveyard with runes near Jarburg. The preceptor in Carian Study Hall can be easily beaten by waiting in the doorway. He will eventually come to you.

For Players that still don't know, A mausoleum with a bell can duplicate great rune bosses and a mausoleum without a bell can duplicate any other remembrance boss. So Great Rune remembrance use bell mausoleum. Don't waste a normal remembrance on a bell, All 15 remembrances has 2 items and NG+ is required to get all 30 items

In the village where you get the 3 cracked pots and all the other mats. There's a little pot guy sitting on the stairs that you can talk to. I didn't because I don't want to trigger anything and since cowboy didn't mention it I thought I would let people know.

At 15:00, they use the enchanted arrows only when you are farther away from them. Like if this area is approached from the south instead, these things completely shred you with those enchanted arrows 😖😵
