This episode we continue with the underground zones and knock out the Dragonkin Soldier of Nokstella for a trophy and pick up a max ash upgrade map. Well the underground zones are great to do at this point due to the upgrade mats that we are going to get by going through them in addition to the trophies that are attached to bosses in these areas.

Is anyone else having problems with missing content? Rani's armor was not where it was supposed to be, I didn't get Blaidd's armor or his sword. Plus, tons of other missing content. I've noticed it's mostly armor and shields, there have been a few weapons that was not where it should have been. Any idea? Is it because I play on PS4, or because I don't play online, maybe? I can't find ANYTHING online about other people having the same problem.

Soap will remove the "I rolled in Poison/Rot, so it continues to build up" effect - though it won't clean up the buildup, it does stop you from building more.

Not just Poison/Rot... Accumulations on the body aren't just cosmetic. Some examples are as follows Being wet reduces your lightning resistance and increases your fire resistance slightly. Being covered in oil causes the next fire damage you receive to deal significantly more damage to you. Being covered in poisonous swamp water will cause the water's inflicted ailment to build up for a time, even after you leave said swamp.

The Clayman Harpoon is notable for being (to my knowledge) the only weapon that has inherent magic damage that can also be infused with Ashes of War. This means it's one of the few weapons in the game that can potentially have three different damage types on it (physical, magic, and a potential third from an Ash)

The enemies in the river areas have been buffed. MUCH more aggressive, have a roll that can quickly get 6-8 of them on top of you if you aren't paying attention, and they seem to have more health. Was killing them in 2 hits with meteor ore blade +5, now it's taking 3 hits on my most recent playthrough

I noticed that too. They have quite a chase distance with a couple following me from the other room without the hideous centipede monster into the other half of the chamber. They also spellcasted aggressively and have a nasty grab attack if they sneak up on you. A couple of other notes since I'm finishing this part today (again: thank you). The Somber Smithing Stone 4 at the beginning is actually on the lower area next to the ravine/canyon. It looks like you should be able to get to it from the upper area but you can't. The map looks a little bit different from the walkthrough in that there's no second road that looks like it should allow you to get to the Intelligence Knot. You have to reach that from below/the swamp as well. Its also much more of a deathtrap with a giant hand and two small hands around it. A lot of people have been dying from this. Its surrounded with a lot of bloodstains.

@@Lytic1000 Just ride up, snag the Int Knot, then double jump out of the melee and ride out. That is if it's the knot I'm thinking of... In the north west part of the lake, just east of the grace where the giant blacksmith sits (but far down the cliff)? The map is quite deceptive in this game... Once you've been through the game it's easier to read, but at first glance its hard to tell the topography. It's no USGS topo map, that's for sure. The spellcasters in Siofra river areas spam the hell out of their magic now compared to my first run at launch. I've played 5-6 characters so I know what to expect from them but I still get ganked here/there, especially if I head down early in the playthrough. It can be easy as hell or a real pain depending on build/weapon/ash/when you enter.

Soap is used if you've rolled in rot or poison, so instead of it continuing to build up since it's on your clothes, you'll use soap and it goes away. Personally ive never used it since i don't roll in those areas, i always use bloodhounds step to get past it really fast and painless

to add, when taking on the space worm: if you stand directly under him when he starts pulling up rocks for his projectile attack, the rocks won't hit you. the gravity well doesn't hurt you either. the only thing you have to worry about if you make it to him is his pincer attacks, which are very telegraphed and easy to dodge.

I’ve probably said this, already, but soap in this game is actually useful, situationally. If you roll around in stat effecting swamp areas, status effect build up continues to build, because you end up getting that grime all over you, and soap washes all that off. Definitely have soap on hand when you run around in the lake of rot

I have been using the clay man’s harpoon since day 1. I went to farm it . It’s one of the best if you like spears and are doing an int/str build. Does good magic damage. I run the ice spear ash of war on it. Do about 700 damage per hit with 15 str and 35 int.

if im not mistaken soap helps with ailment buildup only in the following condition : if you roll through poison / rot etc it will keep building up when you exit the puddle because your character will be covered by them ( after the roll) maybe using soap then helps reduce / remove that buildup

The intelligence knot is needed in a much later episode when you have to buff intelligence to cast a one-time spell. Can't remember the details, but I had to go find it for that one use.

The spear is cool for spell blade - Int scaling - uses ashes of war - buffable with spells (magic, lightning,etc) and you can hide behind a shield and play pokie pokie with it. Soap: if you accidentally roll in that crap - it washes it off and stops the buildup.

soap isnt pointless at all. if you roll in scarlot rot water or any of those types of infecvtious waters your bar keeps going up cause your body is covered in it, and soap stops that by cleaning it all off. def useful asf

The best use for soap is it removes the rain "wet" effect which decrease lightning defense.

I just did that spot yesterday, got ambushed by a couple small hands, got the knot, and proceeded to get grabbed by a giant hand. Idk about the secondary path cuz I just got there by going backwards from the grace at the smithing giant guy.

Really happy with how Cowboy is leading players through the world of Elden Ring. Don't get me wrong. Limgrave, Liurnia, and Weeping Peninsula are nice. But as a Faith/Arcane melee main. Underground, Caelid, Mt. Gelmir and Atlus Plateau are my absolute favorite zones and on a whole other level imo (besides some other places I won't mention for the sake of new players)

in my experience, i didnt start using frozen lighting spear till around level 120 on my faith/dex build and its been pretty solid. possibly its only decent at higher levels. kinda reminds me of fortissaxs lightning spear since it would be fantastic if it had more poise.

Why do you think people use an Crystal Tears for stat requirements? I would assume someone uses them to boost a skill. Maybe there is a boss they are coming a little bit short on. Boost the INT and make your frost hit harder.

Again I can't express enough how invaluable your "burger King masks" are, karolos and olivinus glintstone crowns have a glitch right now where they actually heal about 200 HP when equip swaping so as an example... your half health and out of combat, equip olivinus glintstone crown then equip karolos glintstone grown and you'll heal 200 HP!! repeat the process till full health and save your potions. Obviously don't do this in during combat use your potion in combat use the burger king masks outside of combat. Edit: dragons are not weak to lightning in elden ring that's a dark souls mechanic and lore, in elden ring dragons are weak to the dragon wound grease. (The name kind of gives it away) despite its misleading description it does not give you dragon attacks, it actually just gives you around 20% damage buff against dragons. If you look in the detailed description it's says "when the dragons where born from their ancient kin, they lost their stone scales, which can now be used to cause them mortal harm. Basically telling you this stuff kills dragons.

The tear knots are actually good for all builds with high scaling weapons, it gives a bit more damage for the duration, and for the casters, better inchant/spell scaling, but once you’re at a higher level they’re almost useless as you should have a stat maxed or close to it at some point if you going beyond ng+

I just played Elden Ring last week, Is Hoarfrost stomp got nerfed ? because were having same Glaive +13 and int stats but his damage is more massive. Also I like to Thank Cowboy since Demon's Souls Super Awesome guides !
