The last update has prevented me from summoning any of my ps4 friends, yet they can still summon me. Even summoning my ps5 friends can fail half the time. 2 weeks of this is unreal and wrong. I have never in my 35 years of gaming seen something in a game broken for so long, most developers have these types of issues fixed in afew hours, 1 day at most. Im stuck soloing everything after we beat a boss in my friends world so i can progress with him. 2 weeks and i cant play with most my friends this is so wrong. I talked 5 of my friends to buy Elden Ring to play with them yet i cant. 2 weeks WTF . Im on Ps5

If you have personally killed the boss of that area yourself you can’t summon anyone. If your friends have not killed the boss they can summon. See my updated “I can’t summon vid

I played for 3 days trying to figure it out. It may sound weird but you'll have to go to main menu, then go to network, press data usage, now press Y if on Xbox, Triangle if on PlayStation, choose different language then try to play. It should work!!

BTW IF YOU HAVE DEFEATED THE AREA BOSS YOU CANT SPAWN PEOPLE THERE ANYMORE. You have to go to another location where there’s still an area boss. I think the golden horse dude in the first step is the area boss so you can’t spawn people around there if you have defeated him. Same thing with Margrit, Godrick, etc; there has to be a boss in the area so you can spawn people in it. Make sure in setting you also have “send summoning sign” enabled lastly if that doesn’t work then check your internet connection.

ive proven this wrong, both ways. i havent been able to help new players with margit or in some other areas. yet i can summon randoms and be summoned by randoms in same are. and yes ive tried passwords. game is broken

They game is bugged, if you can't summon your friend, you both have to close the game and turn off internet and back on. It fixes it, until you beat a boss again and you have to do it all over again. Stupid you have to do all that instead of them making a multi-player option to go thru the whole game.

The problem in my case is that I'm trying to help a guy but his multiplayer option is not available, I told him to activate "perform matchmaking" its still not available, he has Gamepass ultimate, he has the Launch Setting set to Online, and he accepted the data usage agreement still not available

Tried doing this with my friend at the southern area by church of Marika but it never worked. Nothing showed up for either of us. We can summon at first step but not down there and we can't walk there either. Idk what's going on, they NEED to streamline multiplayer

Thank you lovely! I always learn by what I’ve not gotten right. So if I’ve made a tutorial and still have questions from people, I know to dial it back more. The kind of way I speak in certain tutorials usually aligns with how far into the game it is. Most guides drag out the first couple of minutes so they can get an ad in there and viewers don’t respect it. Creators don’t realise they’re hurting themselves in the long run. As a gamer I try and do mine in a way I would prefer to see

You can only see friend sign in areas with the boss live. Please like to help people to know this. You need to call him to your world in this kind of area.

You have both stood at the same site of grace at the same time in an area where the host hasn’t defeated the main areas boss and you still can’t see each other’s signs?

@@epictreasure They are saying that in order to summon a friend the host must have an area boss that has not been killed yet. This is the biggest issue people seem to misunderstand. A host cannot call a friend if they have killed the boss in the summoning pool area. For example, I have beat every boss in the game and can’t summon my friend anymore at any location, but my friend can summon me at places with bosses because he has not killed all the bosses yet. That is how it works. There must be a boss on the hosts end in the summoning pool area in order to summon.

If you killed main boss of area, you cannot summon friends anymore anywhere in that area! So if you kill Godrik, there is no more summoning in Limegrave, same as other areas later on.

Let's see if anyone has any fix for this problem. My buddy can not see any summon signs nor can anyone see is, all of his settings are set up right now matter what site of grace he is at it never works. If he logs into his account on my PS4 there is no problem and he can see summon signs and use them but it will not work no matter what on his PS4 console. If anyone has any idea I'd appreciate it because at this point even banco support can't help.

I still cannot invite a friend or get invited by them, even with a password. Edit: Malcador the Sigillite suggested to check your nat type. Mine was nat type 3, I set it to nat type 2 and that seems to correct it for me for the most part. I do sometimes have to wait over a minute for my friends gold sign to appear, but that could be due to the server being highly populated.

I had to Google "how to change Nat type" and for me it was for a Playstation 4. It takes you to a pretty detailed guide on how to do it but it's a little confusing for me since I'm not great with computers.

Update. If your still having trouble playing with friends check your Nat type. If it is Nat type 3 you need to set it to Nat type 2. I had to have my internet provider switch my Nat type to 2. Problem solved.

Me and my friend that lives less than 30 minutes away can't connect even if we try to be in the same world using a 3rd person summoning both of us 1 will not be able to join if the other is there. We have the same ISP, which I believe is the issue, but they claim there shouldn't be any problems and have already came and reset my connection and made sure everything was fine. We are able to play fine with any other person online even our Aussie friend, but can't figure out what's wrong between our summoning. I'd appreciate any help from anyone who might have had the same issue and fixed it somehow. On PS4 btw

This is what I need a fix to. My nephew that lives down the road and can’t connect to me for some reason. Connect to everybody else just fine. We both have proper ports open, NAT type 2, and we have about. 10% success rate of summoning each other. The person being summoned will get the message indicating they are being summoned, then it will eventually say unable to join.

@@epictreasure I tried this one just before, there's word of people not being able to join based on weapon upgrade level. If it's too high you can't join if it's too low. I'm gonna keep trying bc I had this same problem in Bloodborne. It was just the servers screwing up.

It won’t let me and my friend play together I can join his as an invader but we can’t do anything else. We’re both around 210 he’s not even 5 levels below me we have the same passwords to. His friends that are his level can have em join but he can’t come to my world for some reason we’re able to play in others worlds tho. We played in my world before and I’ve seen different people say different things like if you beat every boss in an area you can’t play together there or someone saying that’s not true and that it’s the servers that are bad

Doesn t work I kno all this ... but comes to Wi-Fi Connections They are not strong they suck .. not great for playing online this is why the problem persist. So many on wifi some wifi can t link to others why says (Unable to summon)

I believe for you to join randos you need to be within 10% of their level. With friends though it doesn’t matter but it will penalise your stats if they’re lower and fair enough

Summon barely works one in 10 times it will work I mean it’s probably less than that we tried over and over and over again we do everything right in the summon and never shows up it’s broken especially with the newest 1.04 patch can’t summon at all

My level 10 friend can still summon me at level 140. This should not be an issue as the game massively scales u down, like way overboard imo even by 70% at times. And wtf cant we used our runes in co op, invasions i get but who cares when its a cooperator i payed $90 for Elden Ring i should be able to play a playthrough my own way. I HATE SCALING OMG. 300 hrs to be scaled back to the progression i had at level 15? Come on dude

I'm level 387 and I'm being scaled down massively and still thrashing bosses with BB,RoB,BHF etc etc players that invade my friend one shot him but when they hit me it's like throwing a pebble at me then they start running cause they immediately know that they're about to get stomped! Now imagine that if I wasn't scaled down? It's fair bro! I get you, I do! But the game wasn't designed to be an absolute walk over, easy on your behalf if you search well and invest into your character but not a cake walk 🤣👌🏻
