My main hope for the next Elder Scrolls (and Fallout), is that they upgrade the graphics engine and make the world have more visible player choice impact.
I'm kind of a Bethesda fanboy, and I can't ignore the issue of Bethesda anymore. Gameranx, the more pressure you put on Bethesda, the better Elder Scrolls 6 will end up. Thank you. It's needed.
Exactly! More larger channels speaking about this stuff will hopefully help. Glad to see that it's finally starting to happen. I mean, now that it's safe for them to do so.
That assumes Bethesda will take in any criticism. Their go to has just been to dismiss it as a vocal minority of toxic gamers. They haven’t even given us a hint that they are actually listening to the criticism and instead doubling down on deflection.
@@AntonioRivera28 Yeah that's a good point but I think if the bigger channels start talking about it it may nudge them slightly out of their deluded self grandiosity. I mean you're probably right - at this point it may be hopeless.
Elder Scrolls 6 doesn't need a character sheet as detailed as BG3, but bringing back some choice would be great. I just want skills to actually feel important to choose again. There's no role to play in the role playing game when your character can do everything.
As someone who plays Bethesda games on survival, i do think complex sheets would benefit role playing. I do agree on "passive" skill trees, i prefer something like Sekiro, where you also unlock new moves.
yeah, EU needs to do a full investigation cause many of these massive games that instantly fail, look like a quick tax writes off and/or money laundry, just to spend massive budgets, to land the write off straight into the ceo's pocket and resign with pockets full of money.
Try to use what little brain you have to think, if it were possible to make every game a perfectly timed masterpiece, then why aren't they? Why isn't every film great despite everybody working on it wanting to be? It isn't possible because this is reality and these things are created by humans.
Whatever call of duty used for their net code in MW2 2022, seems they did the same with BO6 2024, MW3 2023 still plays smooth for me but BO6 gets points where the game freezes for 3 seconds every 20 or so seconds which rly annoys me.
Maybe ubisoft and other devs and publishers should lower their expectations? Maybe their games wouldn't flop so hard if they lowered their expectations. Not every game is going to sell millions of copies. They just won't, and that's the reality of it.
Or maybe Ubisoft should actually start putting effort into a game that people will actually enjoy instead of adhering to an agenda and hire people who are actually good at their jobs
Ubisoft used to make good to decent games, now it's just copy and paste with every game they do, they refuse to innovate or try anything new with their games, once you've played one modern Ubisoft game, you've played them all.
I fear Elder Scrolls 6 will focus more on being accessible to as many gamers as possible, instead of providing a fun, challenging, and vibrant rpg experience. Prove me wrong, Bethesda! Please prove me wrong.
History tells me they won't. Bethesda had it's chance to change course after Fallout 4, both in software development and game design. Yet, they, that being primarily upper managment, became complacent instead. Emil Pagliarulo's statements in various interviews, as well as Todd Howard's PR surrounding Starfield's unoptimized state at launch, reinforces this.
You're already wrong, Skyrim as you obviously know is one of the most successful games of all time, so why the hell would they need to make it MORE accessible?
Bethesda needs to understand we want details, we want DEPTH. You can't just give us poorly detailed worlds with surface level characters and changes. My choices in game should affect more than just dialogue. Characters should be more than just 6 lines they repeat. Give us a WORLD
Fallout 4 was a mistake. instead of giving us those choices, they gave us an on rails story with very little impact on any "decision" you make. if Nate or Nora never left the vault, the story would play out the same.
by the time ES6 comes out maybe people will be more desensitized to AI in games so they'll get away with AI generated dialogue and quests lol. that's what you want right?
@Scroolewse might not be opposed to it. If that's how they think they need to solve that problem, but whatever we can get is best. As long as my follower doesn't say "oh look a cave. I wonder what's inside" for literally EVERY cave lol
Part of me thinks that Insomniac developed a Venom DLC but the project expanded in scope resulting in the decision to go the Miles Morales route and make it a standalone Venom game. As Jake alluded to, the first Spider-Man game DLC left quite a bit to be desired; however, Miles Morales was better received.
Miles Morales could've been a DLC, Sony just needed another launch title for PS5, so it got overbloated and became a launch title, the same will happen with Venom. It'll be a launch title to show-off the "features" for the PS5 Pro, or the PS6.
I don’t understand why Ubi don’t just remake the original Beyond good and evil. At least then you can get everyone on board plus build up the studio who will eventually work on its sequel.
One of the really old but insanely fun systems I loved were the Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy lightsaber combat. If only some modern adaptation could be done with that. KCD seems like a pretty decent copy.
@@bcfb21 I'm not sure how to classify it. Action JRPG? Same publisher that makes the "Legend of Heroes" series, but it's action not turn based. It's the tenth game (hence the X), but each story is unique so you don't need to play 1-9 to understand 10. You can get it on PC or console.
I want the next elder scrolls to be an actual rpg, with multiple choices, not just choose between A & B, be more like Daggerfall than Skyrim or Oblivion
I don't want character sheet style menu's for Elder Scrolls VI but at least learn from modders how to make GOOD menu UI because that has been developing backwards.
@@solaceticvc7640 I love the skills menu with the astrological signs and how the map is just teleporting you far into the sky. Magic and inventory hasn't aged very well though. That said, I take this UI over Starfield's every day, any day
The new looking stuff like Dragon Age Veilguard, definitely not my cup of tea... BG3 truly got it all, style, simple and intuitive...it was almost the perfect interface, menu and character "sheet"
I think they wanna explain it more with animation visual effects over a spread sheet obsidians next release is gonna be worth alook that will be the new standard same as vegas was and still has to be bested
Story DLC for Spiderman 2 would’ve been nice, but a lot of the side missions kinda functioned as DLC and set up some interesting things for the next Spiderman game, especially that one side quest if you know.
I am bummed thinking there won't be more in depth character stats in ES6. I felt Skyrim was dumbed down a lot to its own detriment and we lost out on many wacky fun sandbox builds. I loved having a character that felt like a god bounding around the world and flying at high speeds
I hope they don't streamline it too much or focus too much on "customisation"(except maybe for potions). Even worse listen to people saying they should improve the graphics. Good gameplay and quest design in a big openworld with plenty to explore is all that's needed.
BGS says that they aren't interested in character depth. That's what I'm hearing from that interview. I really wish that they would take a page out of their history and actually give us back stats.
The BG&E2 and PoP Lost Crown studio thing might be the other way around or maybe both ways. I don't know the source, but what I heard was that people who were starting to get burnt out on working on and not getting close to releasing Beyond Good & Evil 2 were rounded up into a separate studio to make Lost Crown. With the latter project finished, they might have just been put back.
I prefer not having fully detailed caharacters to be honest, I like the way Bethesda and Nintendo create characters where they just give you a rough personality and leave a lot for you to imagine and interpret the characters as you like, let me create my own world and experience.
Im very upset that Marvel's Spiderman 2 wont get story dlc and im upset i got lied to again. Marvel's Spiderman 2 is only supposed to be on ps5 forever not stupid pc.
Bethesda sees Skyrim as their most successful game, but doesn't really realize it was because the gaming audience and their reputation was just smaller during the Morrowind and Oblivion days. Those games would have sold just as well, maybe even better.
I think Spider-Man 2 should have 1 story dlc that adds to the story already in the game , it can be long or short. I think what people didn’t like about Marvel’s Spider-Man dlcs was that they didn’t add anything to the story and a couple of them had annoying gimmicks.
I thought they would be no news this week. It's almost Saturday (<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="1346">22:26</a> my time) Thanks for the update guys.❤
I've been grinding out the platinum trophies for the God of War series this week, and its been a ridiculously fun blood soaked journey. I am doing the often forgotten "Ghost of Sparta" and "Chains of Olympus" games too. It felt really good to break out the ps3 once again ngl
I've had trouble getting a working ps3 to play them recently. The psp titles were severely underrated for what they were. I would love a port of the Greek saga for newer systems
Leaving all the story ties of spiderman 2 that they set up unsettled is extremely disappointing. Especially since the side quests took such a big amount of the exploration time.
Was extremely bummed to see that NCSoft announced reorganization and layoffs, resulting in the cancelation of Project M. This looked like it could've been one of the best ultra-realistic games on the current gen and a big step forward for Korean gaming, but alas, it is no more.
we have decided to make TES6 a story driven linear game with a premade voiced protagonist. since its a VR experience there will be no RPG elements and the most interaction the user will have in game; are quicktime events, which always succeed, no matter how much you try to fail.
I used to be so insanely hyped for Beyond Good and Evil 2 because I loved the original SO much. One of my favorite games of all time. Signed up for the news letters and their other notices/programs and all that... but now I'm so jaded about the game I just roll my eyes whenever I hear the name. I feel like it's never going to release, and even if it does it's not going to even remotely resemble the original. It will have nothing in common aside from the name, so I'm kind of like... what's the point?
I just wanna thank you guys for being such a good channel, I've been watching you all since 2020 and all of your content is just so fun, the before you buys, the lists, and the news videos. I wouldn't even own certain games if it wasn't for those lists and before you buys always end up saving me 60$ dollars here and there. Love your content and keep it up
The worst part of Skyrim was having to make my own stats sheets. They eventually made a showstatssheet mod that was dope. Normal bethesda. Make it shitty then let modders fix it. They have made less RPG every game they have made since Morrowind.
Why would they change Elder Scrolls 6 because of Baldur's Gate 3? They don't think that anything they do is bad. And they specialize in releasing dated games.
Honestly, I have no idea what Elder Scrolls 6 is gonna be, and frankly, I'm more and more concerned about it's future after seeing how Bethesda handles their design
Rediculous that all these companies keep releasing only digital on day one.. I always want my games on disc.. so I'm either forced to buy digital or wait for the disc...
I can't imagine being excited about BG&E 2. Something that has gone through that much development hell and that many staff changes has very little chance of ending up cohesive, let alone anything like the first game. Why even bother calling it a sequel at this point?
As a diehard B:G&E fan: Don't do this, don't give me hope, this game will never come out and even if it comes out it will be a modern Ubisoft game. My heart bleeds a million cuts every time I hear that name, but it's still better that the mortal shell I'll receive once I see the gameplay loop composed of climbing identical towers and gathering five hundred slices of ham to unlock the next main quest. And just so we're clear, I want nothing more than to be proven wrong.
Thanks for the heads up on Spiderman 2! Can't wait to finally play this one. Hopefully the window for Playstation to PC wait shortens more and more in the future.
I still haven’t bought a Xbox Series. Just the PlayStation 5. I want to play Elder Scrolls 6 and Oblivion Remake but still not interesting in buying a Xbox series. I own every Bethesda games available on PlayStation 3,4&5, it’s just sad to not play Bethesda games anymore. I even miss out on Starfield even though the critics were pretty harsh, I still would have got it probably if was available on PS5.
My ES6 wishlist: -intriguing side quests -more interesting exploration opportunities (less of the same dungeons) -better AI in npc’s and enemies -lore and books everywhere -better graphics, engine, etc -last but not least it better be on PlayStation 🤣
They're well aware of what's become the expected norm since the days of 2011. I would add though, 10 sets of armour/weapons isn't going to cut it in 2027 or whatever, Elden Ring for example has literally hundreds of armour pieces and weapons all meticulously designed and unique. Obviously don't expect them to compete with a Japanese studio on that, but they'll certainly have to step it up.
Ubisoft If ever they stop making the Assassins Creed Shit every year and make a Warrior Within remake without a Black controversial character that will mark the comeback of Ubisoft
You should address the Endymion article your website released basically stating everything he said was false and hateful. Even though he showed the receipts.
I'm skeptical regarding TES6. I enjoyed 4 and 5, but I expect them to water and dumb it down; the problem is unlike pretty much everyone else they cling to the notion that they're making the best games. They especially could use some fresh ideas in writing and quest design. And their god forsaken engine is not gonna improve much.
At this point Beyond Good and Evil devs just want to be immortalized forever for the longest development hell for a videogame... do people care anymore?
Im looking forward to playing Wizard with a Gun and finally jumping into No Man's Sky. Side note...Outer Worlds is pretty fun. Why have I been sleeping on Obsidian!
Ubislop is neck deep in muck right now. Tanking stocks, wasting hundreds of millions of investors money (probably over a billion at this point). For example, Skull and Bones cost almost a billion dollars and 10 years of development with only a million copies sold, and Star Wars Outlaws cost between 200-300 million dollars, 1 million copies sold. They’re really scraping the bottom of the barrel with the BGAE 2 announcement, and pulling the plug on the Prince of Persia game DEFINITELY helped for sure. I wanna say that I feel bad for them, but I honestly don’t, they did this to themselves when they decided to ignore their consumers and adopting a vile business model and business practices. P.S. with how Ubisoft is doing at the moment, unless AC Shadows is a huge, monumental success, we will probably not see BGAE 2 until another company buys them up.
Bethesda themselves literally went to the press only to tell the masses "You are already expecting too much. TES6 will flop because of these expectations." soooooo.... make of this what you will. It'll be a half assed mess that is basically gonna play like Starfield in the Middle Ages. We all feel it coming.
Bethesda needs to fire Emil and end this toxic-positivity culture that has plagued the company for the last decade if they wish for the next Elder Scrolls to be good.
Starfield looks just fine I don't give a shit about graphics just give me MORE Elder Scrolls Skyrim had so much replayability it has lasted over a decade.
