Elderly Man Gets SURPRISE when I KNOCKED on his door

I decided to knock on this door when I drove by and saw how dirty the driveway was. An elderly man opened the door and I told him I'd like to clean it up completely free. It took a little bit of convincing, but he went ahead and let me do the work. Afterwards, he was so happy with the result and was so thankful!

Yes, he makes money from the videos, but why do people bring that up all the time as if its some sort of counterpoint to SB doing something nice for someone else? This man was genuinely surprised. As he said, YOUR machine is so much more powerful. The driveway was so bright afterwards that you would need sunglasses 😎 That act of kindness give this gentleman a huge boost and probably more than a year off from having to do this. Sadly, its an all to common scam targeted at the elderly. Promise a so called free service then slap them with a thousand dollar invoice. The scammers bank on the victims being overwhelmed, confused and easily bullied . Another scam is to use the supposedly free service as a way to scope out the home and return later to rob them. Anyone who preys on the especially vulnerable in our society deserves a special place in hell. Blessidly , GOOD people like Spencer, Ben and others are working hard to turn that around even one home at a time. ❤

I get so many suggested washing and lawn care videos on my YT home page now. I just click on the 3 dots and select do not recommend again. There are plenty of copycats out there trying to duplicate SB's video format. I've been watching Spencer for a few years and I'll just stick with him.

Spencer, That was a large & odd shaped driveway. That tiled porch & bricked step was spectacular. That drive was dingier that I first thought. You worked hard on this one especially with the slope of the drive. 😅 Now, I think you can sell your offer easier if when you approach the lucky recipients that you say, "Hi, I'm Spencer! I go around once a week and find a home to video the transformation I can do on RU-vid. I do it free for you. You get your driveway cleaned, & my RU-vid followers get to enjoy the transformation." How does that sound? ⭐👍🏻☀️

Honestly I think “doing things for free” has ALWAYS triggered the “too good to be true” flags. We (in the US) do not have a culture of being unconditionally generous to absolute strangers. Quite the opposite. It’s whatever. The gentleman’s skepticism was appropriate and SB handled it with grace.

I'm so glad you did this for someone who is elderly. Having your own pressure washer and using it are two different things when you are of a certain age. The spirit may be willing, but the flesh is weak. And if you ARE able to use your own pw, the pain in the joints and muscles the next day is just not worth it. Blessings.

I love your videos, you should provide the free cleanup recipients with some kind of document stating in writing that the job is completely free with your letterhead cause there are scammers around doing the same thing but at the end, they force a charge and even calling the police stating the customer deny payment after service has been rendered, police go with he says, she says and enforcing the customer to pay for services. very common in my area. The document will give them some kinda or assurance that you will ensure them the service will be free.

Big cheers to you from a disabled person, I am sure you've saved more than one elderly person from a slippery walkway to their home.
