I love it when I play against Eldlich "set 5 and pass" with my combo wombo "shiranui, Eldlich, Grass looks greener, summon my entire extra deck in one turn" hybrid of a deck. They use Eldlich to stall and not allow you to play the game, i use Eldlich as a combo extender which sometimes remains on the filed, but most of the time is used as link material for combos.
@@user-fe8gx3ie5v (first off sorry for the long ass comment dude, just like to explain some of the plays this deck does) yes i know there are, i just prefer to play mostly zombies and take advantage of their GY effects (i do play two raidens and two wulf so i can use charge of the light brigade to mill some more). in the case of shiranui, i get them in the GY with grass alongside whirlwind flame to get them banished (or gozuki to get them banished) so i can activate their effects to either special summon, pop a card on the field, return another shiranui from the GY to my hand (spirit master is the usual choice here) then i use the whirlwind to either return it to the deck to get plaguespreader zombie out from the GY (if he's there), or special summon jet synchron from the GY (if its there), or to get Eldlich out from the GY for free basically, (keep in mind that once whirlwind is back in the GY it can be used again the same turn to banish two fire monsters, which shiranui are, and get a discard in the hand for free). once Eldlich is in the hand i can also special summon some other zombie like mezuki that i can use to go into link plays, or to go into Minerva the exalted lightsworn to get some more cards into the gy. I usually turn one get as many cards into the gy i can, then i special summon Halqifibrax to get another tuner onto the field, most of the times the level 3 shiranui, then special summon a lvl 4 zombie from the GY, usually gozuki with the effect of mezuki (i use the other effect of gozuki to send another mezuki in the GY, as mezuki is not once per turn), then i synchro into F.A dawn duster to have a spell/trap negate on the field, then i go into special summoning from the graveyard to get out masquerena so i can link summon during my opponents turn, activate mezuki again to get the shiranui lvl 3 tuner on the field, activate it's effect to get one lvl 4 shiranui and a mezuki that were banished back on the field so now i would have enough materials to go into either unicorn, or apollousa on my opponents turn, and with the two lvl 4s on the field and Halqifibrax i can activate the other effect of halqi to banish itself and special summon shooting raiser dragon, then activate it's effect to send another mezuki (or another lvl 4 to the gy), transforming raiser dragon into a lvl 3 tuner that i can use with either f.a dawn duster if my opponent activated a spell or trap that i negated this turn (this makes dawn duster a level 5 monster) and get out crystal wing for a monster negate or omega to banish one card from my opponents hand. I can also use raiser dragon with the two levele 4s to go into trishula (the level 11 variant) to banish 3 cards on the field (gotta be careful with this tho as it misses the timing...). Also, after my turn one i should have some of the Eldlich spell or traps into the gy so what i do with them is get a pop on the field with conquistador, a negate anything with golden land forever, maybe a special summon with the trap. btw if this all sounds expensive it's because it is expensive. Does the deck pop off? Heck yeah it does! I got to plat 3 last month with it with little to no losses. Is the deck consistent? It's consistent enough, i rarely had a turn one where I don't have a play. There are also a lot more plays you can do with this hybrid of a deck, get shiranui samurai on the field to banish any zombie and make it a get out of jail free card (by his effect if he battles a monster and that monster is not destroyed, my opponent banishes that monster, which is a great boss removal), i can go into samuraisaga for a big beat stick, go into sun saga to pop and return my zombie synchros back in the extra deck, get nine tailed fox out as a special summon to tree up space on the field (or get mezuki in the gy again to activate and special summon any zombie) and so on.
Nobody uses mad lord because they hate the idea of their opponent not having to play through 4 floodgates, and would rather play pillow fort than have fun
@@mikaela5938 It's fun when it's the pure control/card advantage variant. Otherwise, the Deck sucks because it needs to have as many Traps as possible to be consistent.
@@user-fe8gx3ie5v you're just that type of person who only enjoys playing meta and winning every match, there is nothing wrong with it but no one is ever gonna agree with you
i think the Eldlich cards are really cool i just dislike that the best way to play them is putting like 20 floodgates in the deck, i like when ppl play the deck like this with other zombie monsters
started master duel with a shiranui deck after not touching any ygo game for many years. consistently got my butt kicked by meta decks. decided to add eldlich cards and a week later got to plat. it's a fun deck to play. I die to pure eldlich decks most of the time tho. gozen match freezes my plays hahaha
Agreed, since it’s the same thing happening with Drytrons, though the Drytron Fairy deck has them on the back burner for the Herald cards as the floodgate
I agree, the spells and traps of the Golden land archetype can 100% take care of themselved, my eldlich deck's only monsters are 3 Maxx C, 3 Ash Blossom, and 3 Eldlich, everything else are spells and traps, and I've yet to get bricked
As someone who plays the Eldlich fusion I’m glad no one plays the fusion. It helps with the mirror match cause that extra boost in attack and the steal effect is SO NICE
Also, when people try to negate the effect and destroy it but they forgot to read that Mad Lord cannot be destroyed by card effect and battle. The only way to remove it is either banish it or use Zeus like effect.
@@professorhaaland6210 banish, return back to deck (so unicorn), etc can still beats out Mad golden lord. They should have given it immune to all card effects like crooked cook
Editor be flexing, it's true though. But TheDuelLogs charming voice and delivery is part of the success of the channel. I always look for that bugs bunny "No!"
Imagine keeping this very card in your own non-Eldlich deck and super poly. So, when you encounter an Eldlich player, you can use super poly on their Eldlich to get the Mad Golden Lord. Just imagine...
If my usual deck with Super Poly had level 5 or higher zombies I'd totally do this, but I can still super poly it with the help of Verte Anaconda or Lair of Darkness, actually wait, Eldlich itself is a level 5 or higher zombie monster
@Aquarium Gravel Then run cards to destroy backrow dawg, counter what you play against. I understand that people hate the tools in Master Duel to floodgate but there's always variance and a way to beat the floodgates. That's YuGiOh, it's how the game is and should be.
That's got to be a dude that netdecked TriZoo without knowing any of the combos. To my knowledge he could have ended on revolt + ancient warriors link + 2 material Zeus AFTER clearing the board. Depending on his hand he could get a 3 material apollousa as well.
If he had just special'd keras he'd have drident pop the cursed eldland and gone into zeus at minimum with duellogs running on fumes. Can lead a camel to water but can't make it link summon.
@@TempestDacine True he could go for a more conservative play if he feared removal like raigeki or another eldlich. His hand, and deck, was bonkers, but he just clicked buttons and lost.
@@user-fe8gx3ie5v as opposed to letting them search with it every turn and pop it themselves to revive golden lord yeah. It's a bitter pill to swallow but its def a way to press advantage with limited plays.
@@TempestDacine The card itself is not very good, but it makes more sense to pop it during the opponent's turn when he tries to search so he doesn't get the End Phase Set during your turn.
I use it on my Zomlich deck. It's actually great in the following circumstances: 1. I want my non-boosted Eldlich in the graveyard so that I can revive and boost it. 2. Mirror match. 3. I have Eldlich and a monster with a negated effect. It's a great card and one of the reasons why I like playing Zombie World Eldlich instead of oppression Eldlich.
ZW eldlich gives u more option to play as well than the pure trap one,if u got an oopsie and ur golden boi got banished in pure trap deck, there's little u can do,where with other mixed deck u can use other card to bring golden boi back from being banished,or u know...can still use other zombies in ur arsenal and still can make the play eventho u got one or two banished
@@vegaaltair8478 It does give "more options" but I say it is worse in the current meta than a pure eldlich deck. And I say this as someone whos ingame name is necromancer and got plat 1 with eldlich while currently climbing with zombie world eldlich that I will soon post on masterduel meta.
i noticed some people run super poly and this card on the extra deck and it's weird but it somehow works due to the abundance of eldlich in rg. pretty neat tbh
Shiranui - Eldlich is really fun; you have so many options for plays/combos. My favorite combo is summoning Archfiend Zombie in order to protect Eldlich after his protection effect ends.
I run the fusion. The spell blocking a backrow does come up and you can send it away for the Eldlich you just fused. Plus it's a good Dogmatika Punishment target if you got unlucky with Extrav banishing N'tss or Wind Pegasus
Sometimes I just forget I have zeus. It rarely comes up. Almost costed me the duel, when I dueled a dimfissure macro-cosmos deck. Dude literally went first, used dimfissu, set 3, pass, standby flip macro, cuz why not. Then I went neg a thousand to make this xyz to atk, and forgot I had zeus. But next turn I remembered I had zeus. But since the guy had dropped an area limit, i had to go even more minus to summon a knightmare phoenix, pop the area limit, and then go into zeus.
@@evilsworn2901 it's essentially free fusion spell for your deck so you can Use it to fuse nethersoul/starving venom/etc while also getting rid of the monsters in your hand that you want in your gy like doomking with ZW on the field, or even Eldlich himself rez from GY
I did use him for my Zombie-Eldlich Deck, and when it helps, it does helps a tons, can take control and unable to be destroyed by battle/card effect, and pretty high atk at that, not the best compared to other boss card, but boy, does he gets the job done
I think it's because most eldlich decks run skill drain. And with that. The mad lord is just a 3800 beater. And since regular lord can get to 3500 even with a skill drain I don't think running the fusion is worth it.
Because it's easier to ooga booga with pure trap eldlich with floodgates than mixed one like this. Eldlich fusion only benefits those who plays mixed one since it open more options for them how to play the eldlich. Mad lord ain't just 3800 beater,it's a beater with high atk, can't be destructible with battle/card effect, and can take control of opponen't monster.
@@mikenicholson1388 Oh! Sorry about that, yeah I did try mad lord on the pure eld deck with Skill drain option and let's just say it doesn't work well.. and it better off with either pure trap or mixed one so it become more consistent
User of the Mad Lord here, with it being in my Vampiric Gold deck. That kinda explains itself there, but it's been my go-to ever since I started since I've always had a preference for zombie monsters. Other than my Superheavy Samurai deck. I'm just hoping that last three vampires come to Master Duel since we have Voivode
I use it literally everytime I play Eldlich. I built my Doomking Eldlich around summoning the Mad Lord. It's fun as hell to play, even if it does brick and get BTFOd by decent rogues and meta decks. Sometimes I catch them off guard though. Nobody expects you to be able to spam 3800k indestructible boss monsters every turn that can yoink anything they summon to defeat it. They also don't expect you to follow up with a Chaos Dyson Sphere or various other Rank 10s if they build an immovable wall to burn them down. I salute anyone who plays Mad Lord. You are cultured duelists.
Bruh I love playing Madlord with Balderoch. I’ve had some crazy games where I cleared dominating boards with Uni-zombie discarding Banshee and Glow-up, becoming level 5 while getting Balderoch on the field, using Eldlich from my hand to clear the main threat, bring Eldlich back with his effect, banish with Balderoch, fuse Eldlich with Uni-zombie as a lv 5 for Madlord, and then tribute Balderoch so Madlord could steal one of his remaining boss monsters, just for Balderoch to return the next turn. Eldlich is fun when he’s not the center of your deck and you can find interesting comeback plays with him.
Dude the duel logs we watch your video because your funny as fuck, and your voice is very relaxing, And you're one of the better yugitubers even know you have 3 other channels not about Yu-Gi-Oh lol
when i did the solo mode challenge where the loaner deck was a shiranui/eldlich deck, the first thing that i thought when confirming the cards it had was, "why is there a fusion monster in the extra deck, isn't this a synchro archetype" followed by "wait, eldlich has extra deck cards, how come i never see this?" so i can confirm that this video title is a very realistic response to learning about mad lord's apparent existence
Actually, I use him :D Pretty fun if I met other Eldlich players, I can steal their Eldlich on the field with his fusion and in the GY with Lyna (but she didn't work well when opp have Skill Drain), and there is only one way for my opp to return their Eldlich to their field which is sending him to opp GY (by me using him for special summon, opp using Eldlich effect from the hand, destroying him by battle, or Kaiju) Also, he can be summoned by Eldlixir card unless he is sent back to the deck
Zombie World is a soft floodgate, it doesn't do a whole lot against most decks but Tri-Brigades are pretty popular and lock themselves into 3 specific types, and outside of rare Harpie variants(one of which I'm in the midst of working on) they don't tend to play too much backrow removal. Of course if you really wanna be mean you can run a Xenolocking floodgate with it to shut off ALL forms of special summoning for non-zombie decks. Eldlich was pretty much hand made to be powerful Zombie support, the fact that it works so well in conjunction with floodgates was probably just an unanticipated side consequence of its reliance on playing tons of backrow cards to get itself out of the graveyard. Honestly the Fusion monster is kinda tame compared to just using two of it to go into Gustav Max for big burn, followed by Juggernaut Liebe to wipe the field of monsters and possibly OTK while doing so if they're in attack position. But if you don't have those or space for them(i.e. when you're running it in an ACTUAL Zombie deck like Shiranui) then might as well mess around with it, stealing monsters is (almost) never a bad thing after all, and most Zombie decks do stuff in the grave so tributing isn't a big deal.
Zombie world and in tandem with those who also have Rivalry of Warlords does act somekind of a floodgate, but like u said, it falls into the category of "soft floodgate", but it would rly rly annoying against certain decks
where can I find the deck list for the deck you used? I loved the look and playstyle of eldlich, but couldn't bring myself to run the floodgate lockdown set bc i'd rather be a functioning and decent human being. This set with Shiranui looks fun!
Haven't played since the first event, but eldlich with the zombie world package was great balderoch is crazy too but I always summon the eldlich fusion if I could
I love to use the mad golden lord. Since is uncommon, people don't know it's effects. And they don't read them either. Also fraulein has won me more games than you can imagine. Still have to try that Shiranui engine, but seems promising.
I think people run it but it's just hard to get out consistently when you're only running to super poly which are usually just for disrupting opponent by sending their stuff to grave but I have seen people use it to get that eldlich fusion out
It's funny this is a Shinurai with Eldrich deck that was actually the first deck I made along side a vampire control deck, I haven't actually played Yugioh outside of Duel Links since like 07 lol these ended up working pretty decently but now I'm using that other guys deck lol
I play Eldlich with minimal floodgates (only Skill Drain and Summon Limit because screw the UR floodgates) and Mad Golden Lord has saved my ass numerous times whenever I can't get either of my floodgates out, as well as the effect of the Eldlich fusion spell (lock 1 set card from activating whenever you special summon anything) doing me favors on plenty of times.
I actually use this card non-ironically. Even went up against TGSAnime in one of his weekend duel-tables and the chat said I was "wilding" for playing him - seemed to be a "positive" feedback though. I mean...as positive a feedback you can get when playing eldlich. Didn't use any floodgates so I got a thumbs up from chat, but again. I am an eldlich player. There is no love for people like us in this world.
I think you can only search out tri brigade revolt with Bearbrumm's graveyard effect. So at 3:20 there's no way the tri zoodiac player could have searched for it as he used Kerass's effect to summon Shuraig
I need to know what is your secret to not crack or laugh n maintaining ur crispy professional voice while playing funny deck, with all the fun plays u did in all ur gameplay video
yeah. it's really not that great. The real key card of eldlich is skill drain and imperial order, and vanity emptiness. protect those floodgates at all cost that's all you need to win the game as Eldlich. in the end using mad lord is the unoptimized version of the deck.
to comment on the conversation chat was having about closing bets, It's typically not good form to allow bets on something as it begins because the start of a match/race/game gives way more information than the people that bet before it. Duels can be won in the first turn or at least you can figure out the exact match up. which is an unfair advantage. Fights can be won in the first round, and barring an upset, you can typically tell who has the best chance of winning depending on how the racers come out of the gate if it's something like meter sprints or horse/dog racing. I mean, if you don't want to take it that seriously it's definitely your call to do so, but Chat did have a point about how allowing viewers to bet after duel start is an advantage. Even after first turn gives enough information to make a smarter bet.
It's more so that most of the "basic" Eldlich decks use Skill Drain (Also lots of decks in general use Skill Drain because it makes for a decent floodgate and makes your foe have less negates to work with). With that in play their fusion monster then becomes just a slightly more powerful Golden Lord with no effect. Basically if Skill Drain became limited/banned in Master Duels then the Eldlich fusion would see quite a bit more play.
@@astralguardian5930 I thought eldlich was in a special position since if any of your golden lords are in the grave you can pop your own skill drain at your leisure if for whatever reason you needed to get over something destruction immune
Not like "bad" per se,it's just most ppl more prefer to play pure trap eldlich with floodgates which is easier to use for them. But Mad lord is a welcomed addition for mixed eldlich, which is way more versatile deck and can catch other people's off guard with his effects
Yes, I always prioritize mad lord, cannot destroy by battle and card effect not only one turn also 3.8k ATK. Also have take control effect. I dont get it why people using there can only be one, or imperial order, eldlich full potential is in the fusion. I once win with my mad lord keep coming back from GY I cant do much bcause my 3 Eldlich got banish. My opponent using Invoker-Dogmatika deck.
Idk i think synchron eldlich is a bit better because the fusion doesn't make the eldlich plays any stronger or multifaceted. I agree floodgate eldlich is a waste its just really easy to play.
With the right timing, your board have mad lord, control opponent monster, and eldlich with 3500 atk. Thats filthy Sometimes people rage surrender after taking control their monster.
is it possible to have a copy of your deck? I am looking for a switch from trap trix to play in platnum and i have a not so good eldlich deck as an alternative
I recently came in second at a local, i play eldlich/zombie world. I just really like zombies. one of my matches was a minor match against a pure Eldlich trap player. I used Superpoly to remove his Golden Lord and my Golden Lord, then Huaquero to banish it from the grave, revived my Golden Lord and kicked for game. He has never seen the Fusion Card...
I had a match where an opponent summoned Mad Eldlitch and he tried to attack me directly. I activate Giant Ballpark to negate the damage and summon my 3 normal insects, I didn't had a single counter against it either. They surrender because of that minor inconvenience...
1. I have 3 copies of him and actually use him in my Eldlich Zombie World all the time, with Super Poly ofc 2. Deck idea: Afterglow OTK. I just pulled it from a legacy pack today and its effect seems interesting to use and to build a deck around it, but I don't know how to inflict the other 4000 damage to the opponent sadge
