ELDORADO PEAK: Walking the Knife's Edge 

Often referred to as the 'Queen of the Cascade River', Eldorado Peak is a 2,703m (8,868-foot) peak and is the 25th highest peak in Washington.
Our experience on Eldorado was actually a last-minute backup plan. Our original plan was to make an attempt on Mt. Rainier, but our trip was canceled due to sudden bad weather. We quickly formulated a new plan and researched other peaks in the area. We ended up settling on Eldorado as it would provide a short, exciting challenge in a new zone. The weather was flawless and the conditions were excellent. Our big Mt. Rainier attempt is inevitable, but in the meantime, we're completely content to be exploring peaks just like this one.
