Mike Johnson, speaker of the House, wouldn't even bring the border deal up for a vote, because he was afraid it would pass. Trump also wanted to campaign on immigration. Is there a more over-used expression these days than "...have their voices heard...?" A vote is not a bullhorn. It's a decision that expresses confidence in a choice on a ballot. Individuals are tasked with doing their own research in the ballot issues, the candidates, and knowing what and/or who they are supporting, or not supporting. We used to call that civics. Now, it's a "..voice that needs to be heard..." Oh my.

@@kingjustice4143 this is my first year being able to vote, and even if she didn't win the primary (Which I don't like either) I literally had to sit through my American history class the day the capitol was stormed and i watched these trump supporters brought on by the man himself to try to essentially flat line our democracy's voice. I watched my teacher not even be allowed to call these people insurrectionists and terrorists because the event was deemed "too political". That day is still burned in my memory and the fact he still has the audacity to even bother to say it was "nonviolent" and "a day of love" is mind boggling to me. Our system has inherent safeguards and yet this man child is still crying out when the real reason is because he just cannot accept the fact he lost fair and square. I can't vote for someone who is only going to be a president to people who scratch his back and will go out of his way to sew disbelief among our people. I wish I grew up in a time where presidential elections didn't feel like the strings of our democracy are constantly about to be cut, but its just all we know now.
